    Hello my facebook minions. Tomorow seems like an ordinary wedsnday. But to me tomorow is possibly the most anticipated wednsday of my life. To those who regularly converse and participate in various PA meetings with me, i will not be seeing you for a while, for classified reasons (GT5) but i think i will still have somewhat of a life left, so hit me up.

    Here’s how to get an early copy:
    1. Go to a store that has the game.
    2. Find an employee that looks “cool”.
    3. Tell them you want GT5.
    4. Slip them $100.
    5. Have them ring you up using a different game that sells for the same as GT5 (that way, it’s not like your stealing it, and no one will know the difference.)
    6. Profit!

      Umm, Profit? Your out $100 just to get it 24 hours early.
      Ehhh, No one will know the difference? Oh, Just the auditor that checks inventory counts, matches the missing GT5 to the surplus game “X”, looks at the period that GT5 was in store and game “X” was sold, sees which employee was working, an decides if it’s worth going after him/her.
      Yes, I have earned a paycheck doing internal loss prevention security work. I catch “cool” employees.
      About the only thing you got right was the not stealing part, since you paid for it, though it lacks morals.

      @R.I.S. Yes, profit. To me the game is worth $500. I pay $100 bribe, plus another $60.

      $500 – $160 = $340.

      I would profit $340. That’s enough to buy a PS3 and a few pizzas.

      Second, why would I care about some auditor? That part of the story wouldn’t involve me. It involves the employee that accepted the bribe, the store, and the auditor. As far as the store is concerned, I went in and bought Toy Story 3 for the PS3.

      Lastly, morals are debatable. Would this really be immoral? C’mon, I’m just some guy who really wants to play a video game. If you really want to know who is immoral, it’s Sony. If it weren’t for them, we could have avoided this whole situation in the first place if they had just released the game on November 2 like they said they would.

      I like R.C. Cars. My hobby shop has a used one $100. I’d be willing to pay $350, but it’s allready marked sold. I slip the guy running the register $150 to sell it to me instead. By your definition I just profited $100 dollars. I think I’ll go spend my $100 profit on a new motor. Except wait, I don’t have $100 profits from the transaction, because nobody gave me $100 dollars. I just spent $250 on a $100 car. What I am willing to pay doesn’t matter because I still have less money in my wallet than before I bought the car. Has a result, I can claim no profit.

      Has for Moral debates:

      The only people who make such arguments, has the one I qouted, are the ones trying to justify their own knowingly wrong behavior has being someone elses fault, or those who cannot or will not take responsibility for themselves regardless. Therefore, you just demonstrated my point, not once, but twice. You’ll only continue to twist things in your mind to justify your actions, so further “debate” would just be repeatedly explaining the definition of “moral” and “imoral” thus serving has nothing more than an off topic waste of space on Jordan’s server.

      Oh, and BTW, many retailers have there security detection coded to monitor that the item bought is actually the item walking out the door. Ringing up another item does not bypass this, so the rest of the employess would allerted to a shoplifter when you attempt to leave, getting you both busted. True, not all stores have this, but you never know.

      Let me see if I can explain this better.

      You are willing to pay $350.
      You have $350 in your wallet.
      Give the guy $150.
      $100 is still left in your wallet.
      You’ve profited $100.

      This is where you imagination comes in. Imagine you actually paid $350 for the car (if you were truly willing to pay that much it shouldn’t be difficult). Now imagine that you got $100 back. You now have the car which is worth $350 plus the $100 you got back which equals $450. $450 is $100 more than $350. Hence, the $100 profit.

      As far as twisting things in my mind to justify my actions, I say: It works for me.

      ROFLMBO, Profit is money earned beyond what you started with. That’s what he was trying to explain to you. Paying more for something than it’s price, but less than your willing to pay is not profit, it’s a budget surplus despite bad buisness choices.
      If the cool employee said, “I’ll pay $260 if you’ll bribe me $100 to sell you the game and pay $60 for the game itself.”, then you’d have a $100 profit.
      Paying $100 more, just to get it a day sooner, hey, that’s your choice if it’s worth it to you or not. But then convincing yourself that still having money left over is somehow a financial profit….That is halarious. YOU JUST PAID $160 TO GET A VIDEO GAME 1 DAY SOONER! 1 DAY! ROFLMAO. Almost the price of a new Driving Force wheel. I’ve seen the GT for $135.
      You crack me up man. Profit. Lol, I need to get a job at a game store….

      I don’t need a pay rise at work. I just have to be prepared to pay more for everything. Then I can retire early on the profits I make on every single purchase I make from now on.

    Funnily enough the chase cam excited me the most, even though I will never play from that view. It almost feels strange to be picking the game up in 2 days considering its been a dot on the horizon for so long now

    As excited as I am to get my hands on GT5 and drive some rally cars (and everything else!)…

    NOTHING SAYS REALISM LIKE WATCHING THOUSANDS OF POUNDS OF RACING MACHINE MOVING AT 50-60mph RICOCHET OFF SOME NYLON WEBBING AND PLASTIC SIGNS LIKE IT JUST HIT A CONCRETE SEAWALL.

      You forgot to put mph in caps…but poor Kaz has to stop somewhere… If they had to create runoff around all tracks at the detail they strive for I think we’d be sitting here on this site, still waiting for a release date.

      Yeah, I’m whining, lol. But still… RBR did it in 2004 for the PS2, so it’s not like it hasn’t been done properly before, and on hardware that was even more meager.

    Well, the video is showing 2 things :
    – 1°) 1 SMALL (tiny) part of Eiger dirt
    – 2°) The AI … Incredibly stupid. The guy driving is a total noob, but, look, is winning, by 10 seconds …

    Then, there’s one thing it’s not showing : the entire Eiger Dirt version !
    It a huge dirt map, that is about 4 minutes (did it with Focus WRC, with a medium skill: medium is far better than what we saw in that movie ;) )

    I’m sorry that I can’t upload movie (cant actually record the game)

    But, trust me, that track is … AMAZING ! :)

    Here in the uk, shopto.net have got mine and i know that they are known for getting games into the hands of gamers early, so i will be up in about 7 hours as the time s 11.23 pm just hoping and i mean hoping that the postman will deliver mine tomorrow. Also I am hoping to go to GAME at around 11:30pm tomorrow and take photo’s of the release.

    So hopefully, I will be getting my beloved game by tomorrow afternoon and now my life has purpose all over again. no more late nights doing watching tv but instead i will be driving and getting the love back. BTW, i have been playing GT5Prologue for the last hour.

      yeah i did order from game, they send out the signature edition via next day delivery, i got an email from game on sunday that it had been dispatched, i should get it tomorrow judging by the tracking details.

    yes im referring to the driving in this vid and all the other vids but dont get me wrong i dont want to come off as a mr know it all or i can do better than that.I’m simply stating anyone can hold the pedal to the floor but control is what it’s all about.
    Braking shooting for the apex max accelleration on exit,and so on….
    Pack driving can be difficult, anticipate the turn coming let off the throttle if need be,rearending the car in front of you or overshooting the bend and grinding your car against a barrier wont help.

      Yeah don’t worry I wasn’t having a stab, I agree that most people in these videos don’t seem to understand the intracies of driving. I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who do though, so I will see you online in 3 days!

    Not going to lie, that looks incredible. I was a bit worried how the dust would look in the final build because its been a bit sketchy in the past but it looks awesome. Can’t wait to start making my own rally stages, here’s to hoping you can make them nice and narrow with trees lining either side

    I’m getting my copy tomorrow evening. I talked to the guy wondering about a midnight release and he was like come pick it up before we close. This game is gonna be a real dandy!

      Where are you and which store will do this?

      I ordered from GameStop. I am going to go there early tomorrow and see if they are willing to do the same thing. (*crosses fingers*)

      All I’m gonna say it’s a Gamestop outside of Toronto, I don’t want to be specific cause I appreciate he’s doing that and he laughingly said don’t tell anyone, so it’d be kinda rude to give the specific store on this site. I walked in, which made the difference between calling I think. Dude was telling me he’s been doing the license tests in the back and is having a hard time cause he’s not into racing, but told me he’s astonished at the graphics and detail.

      I’m trying to figure out if that was sarcasm or not…lol. Lots of complaining and lots of excitement, but a hell of a lot of anticipation. It’s safe to say PD will keep the mystery tradition up for GT6…. we can release it whenever we want..hahaha. One more day of Prologue to kill, that’s what I’m talking about.

      no he won’t. release date delivery means they’ll put it in the mail on the release date. so unless you got the fastest one day shipping possible, you won’t even be getting it on the 25th. be prepared to curse at the mailman because you’re a fool for not realizing what release date delivery means

      Ehhh,no.
      My employer has been shipping for the last three days so that peoples orders arrive ON release day. That’s why it’s called “release day delivery”, and not “Shipped on release day delivery.”
      Sometimes people get lucky and it comes a day early even.

      Nope, that’s how it works. In the USA has well. There is absolutely nothing stopping a shipper to send out with a target delivery date of release day. Sorry.

      UPS tracking shows mine coming on time to me on the 24th. I’m in the US, and you don’t get tracking estimates untill UPS has it in system.

    This looks awesome, I can’t wait to play this sim. I hope there are various configs for the G27…time will tell!!

    I’ve busted my ass trying to get an early copy…

    Went to Target lastnight and had the game in my hands…I told the guy that I saw it in the add in the morning, he didn’t know anything about the game so he looked it up on his scanner gun and saw he had it, but it didn’t have a location in the store so he went to the back, found it and came out with 6 copies and handed it to me.

    I gave it back to him to ring up…about peed my paints before his screen went red and it said, DO NOT SELL UNTIL 11/24… I about cried…I was so close!

    I still have another route I’m trying to go to get it early…Fingers crossed!

      I’m glad I didn’t go through that but doesn’t it get you really angry that some stores are breaking the rules just for a petty few extra sales? you can’t blame the customers but I think those stores should be sued, or the rest of the stores in USA should just start selling it

      I’ve been trying to convince my GameStop to give it to me because I am travelling for Thanksgiving, and I want my GT5! They won’t budge though. I’ll be back Friday morning though, and they open at 12:01 for Black Friday, so I guess I’ll just haul myself up there to pick it up ASAP Friday. Darn holidays!

      I do hope you can see the difference between 2 days, and two months. Niether is a pleasant length of time, but 2 days is nothing compared to what we’ve allready done.
      Besides, life is full of waiting. Best to learn how to deal with it young rather than risk not growing old. ;)

    since the thread about the GT5 copies leaked in France is closed, i’ll put this here:

    don’t forget these shops are the biggest video game franchises in France and GT5 is the local bestseller of the year. the only way to fight unfair competition from UK online shops like shopto.net (play.com is based in the Guernesey island which is a tax haven if i remember correctly) who sell the game at €42,99€ instead of 59€ (or 60+) who shamelessly steal French sales, the only way for them was to sell the game earlier than the online shops.

    that’s as simple as that.

      There will almost certainly be an option to turn HUD off, I believe there is one in GT5P, and I know there was one in GT4. So don’t fret, they will let you turn it off if you wish =]

      that is the most lame complaint I’ve ever heard. do you really have that bad vision that you can’t just see the massive amount of track on the rest of the screen? seriously, the HUD takes up 10% and somehow it’s something you can’t get over? it’s not even like the HUD holds any importance besides your own personal preference, it’s in all games so why complain now? nobody cares

      Perhaps you don’t care, but a lot of people do. Yes it is a minor thing, but the option to allow you to turn off the HUD wouldn’t hurt. I loved playing GT4 without the HUD on cluttering the screen. Being that they had this previously, most thought that it would still be there. Hopefully they will patch this in an update.

      I actually have a plasma screen and being able to turn the hud off means its not going to permanently burn the hud on my plasma. So it does matter for me, otherwise im stuck on only playing 1hour at a time… cant have that

      well I agree, any feature in previous games should stay, and I surprisingly didn’t know that plasma’s can have images burnt into their screens, I should have known that but either way, I think that if it was in gt4 it’s an understandable complaint because there’s no legitimate reason not to have it. However, all these complaints about not being able to change some of the rims on cars is absolutely rediculous, and a pathetic complaint. So, the whining of standards not having changeable rims has now taken over as the most pathetic complaint I’ve heard so far lol

      @Veyron – I’m not complaining, just wondering. I simply don’t see a reason for leaving this possibility out. I always loved to change the rims, because it gives that extra “personal touch” to your car. But we’ve got +200 premium cars, haven’t we? :D

      I’m pissed off that some stores are selling it early. Part of it is jealousy of the people who are playing it, i would do the same but either way, unless you’re doing a review, there’s no reason for you to be able to play it early unless you stole it. i can’t understand how stores are getting away with it, aren’t there laws against it or at least clauses in contracts to prevent this? gameplay videos aren’t worth knowing the fact that other screwed stores that I can’t reach are breaking the rules while my stores refuse to. I don’t know which stores I’m more angry at, the ones selling it or the ones who aren’t

      @ Veyron Standard, I work at a retail store in the northern midwest, US called Meijer. If we sell any game before its official release date the store can be fined by the game company. For most stores, the sales for releasing the game early probably will not overcome the fine and possibility of not getting games on-time anymore. Obviously some stores in Europe think they can sell enough copies….good luck.

      @HunterKiller87 at least there is a deterant. Of course, some game stores could easily alter the records & make sure the customers can be trusted not to reveal how they got it early but eitherway, I believe it’s the retailer that’s to blame, not the customer. If I could get it early, I wouldn’t be angry at all so I don’t blame the customers lol
