WHOOHOO – one of the best jap-car era’s!! (IRL I’ve got a ’93 RX-7, ’93 MX-3 GS & ’96M Miata :) I wish events like this one had the AI defaulting to sport-softs, as it’s definitely what I’d run for similar real racing, but I guess ya can’t have it all right, haha.

Oh yeah, like everybody else.. thumbs up to the NSX pic Jordan. Too bad ya can’t run it, especially since it’s LHD. (I’d ALMOST pay a nominal fee for LHD interiors, heh)

  2. TakumiFuji01

It’s good to do some Touge on Toscana! Dang the pic looks so nice! NA1 NSX’s RULE BACK THEN AND STILL RULE NOW!

+1 Love the RX7 GT-X (FC) around Trial Mountain and Toscana Tarmac 109A with minimal mods on Sports Hards – it’s an absolute hoot :)

    2. Killer Tiller

Mine was maxed out already so I added 200kg and dropped the power for it to be eligible and I ran race softs. That Toscana track is the best one yet

    1. Killer Tiller

Anything really. This seasonal pretty much comes down to what cars you like from the ’90s. Pick something with 300-400 PP spend a little money on it to boost the PP and you shouldn’t have any problems winning.

Why is it that these seasonal events offer more cash than a 3 hour endurance event? seasonal events are soo much easier! and besides, you have to refurbish your car after the big endurance races which ends you up with spending more than you were awarded with in the race

    1. Go AB’s

If they didn’t then people would complain that they’ve “finsihed everything, and are tired of grinding new events to get the cars they want”…
I think a level system was talked about a while back, but got booed off stage. :)

I just realized that we got a lot of talented photographer here in GTP. No wonder we got some amazing post producing picture here.

    1. StudeBakerAE86

that is soooo true… a little bit more creativity would be very nice!
give us 3 laps of Nordschleife (not only 1 lap)
      or 50 laps daytona…

    2. funrun

You sound like Mr. Yamauchi standing behind you spanking your butox? You should go away and stop being a “B”ig “W”hiny “X”xxgot.

  5. TwinCamRacer

Update on recent cars such as: R26.R, Focus RS, CTR hatch, 1M, Clio 200, M3 saloon, RS3, S8 V10, Golf R, Scciroco R, Astra OPC/VXR, Corsa OPC/VXR, Fiesta ST, Opel GT, etc.
    And some premium classic: S30Z, C10 sky, AE86!, 205GTi, Clio Wiliams, VW Golf/Corrado VR6, Mk2 Golf GTI KR, Gulias, Mk1/2 Escorts, rwd Kadett/Ascona, other 60’/70′ rwd rally heros, E30 M3!!, M635…

I agree that PD have for a while now lacked a little imagination when it comes to generating these ‘added extras’, I too would like some longer races but it’s not hard to make these a little more challenging if you don’t go straight for racing softs and max PP.
When the Ferrari events were released that I only had two Ferraris in my garage, I worked my way through every one until I owned them all and only installed the minimum amount of add ons to get first… I’m not suggesting anyone does that with the hundreds of cars that are probably eligible for this weeks but it makes it marginally more interesting than just blowing the AI away in overpowered/tyred cars.
Maybe they should also start the faster AI cars at the back, get them fighting amoungst themselves a bit more while we try and get to the front? :-)

Sign, PD, why can’t you try something different, these are PATHEATIC. always 5 laps, always 5 races.. How hard is it to use some of those 1000 cars for some 10-20 lap races? How hard is it to add more variety? Seems like monkies are making these events… How hard is it to scale the AI to you so their rcar is always close to you, even Shift does this. Crap, more crap.

    1. Jeremiah Fyffe

I wouldn’t call these “pathetic”. I enjoyed these pleasant surprises.

But I would highly second the request for both much longer races sometimes and not to always start at the back against underpowered cars and underperforming racers.

How about a race with all similarly powered cars and racers where you start in the middle and have to really fight for it for 20 laps. (Like the Formula GT in A-Spec).

    2. Turismo

I can’t really handle 20 laps or longer laps. I dislike playing games for a long period of time IMO. Gotta do other stuff too.

    3. Aron

Well… There is an “Arcade Mode” where you can set up your own race. How hard is it to go to arcade mode? How hard is it to not expect so much from games? Seem like monkeys are buying these games. It’s not that hard to go in arcade or online… I do this. Complaining, more complaining. Anywho besides that, you complain and I’ll enjoy my DLC and Spec II of GT5! Go play Shift if it’s better!

Raceur is right. The apostrophe abuse on this forum is phenomenal, and isn’t helped by the editorial staff partaking in it as well.

    2. raceur

Jordan, that doesn’t explain “1990’s”, and while it’s your site I disagree about copying it verbatim if it will propagate an error. Given this site has somewhat overzealous moderators looking for grammar errors I would have thought the main blog should be setting an example.

Anyway, thanks for timely posts about new Seasonals, always useful.

    3. Lexiconious

      Actually, 1990s is correct.
’90s is also correct, as the apostrophe is the contraction substitute.
1990’s would only be correct of it belonged to the year 1990… one could argue the cars belong to the the years of the group 1990-1999. This however would make the apostrophe a possessive to a group, so would be written 1990s’.

      Just FYI… :)

“is an acura NOT technically an american car”

You answered your own quest., lol, so yes! an acura is NOT technically an american car.

  9. M8h3r

I love waking up on a Thursday to see the new seasonal on GT5 :) first day of my 4 day weekend, seasonals are the only thing left for me on here.

  10. HuskyGT

    YES! I´ll start preparing my R32 :D

Btw, that Acura looks awesome! I prefer the original Honda version, but I´ll probaly get me one like this.

  11. Go AB's

Awesome picture choice Jordan… the car looks half asleep. :)
About to go jump into this one! All those random car’s I’ve bought are going to be in their element here. :) …Toyota Sera FTW, lol!
    Have fun all…

    1. darkpigraph

sorry if this is a stupid question but how do you do things like switch the car’s headlights on and turn the front wheels in photo travel? I’ve never seen these options.

    2. jacoja06

@A_A. Nope… there has never been any Sera’s for sale, with 0km’s on the odometer. I’ve been waiting for one for a long time! They’re awesome cars though. :)

    3. Go AB’s

Nah, I just have a few Seras laying around from ages ago… raced a few times. An engine overhaul is good for it though at on $10.5k
One is standard, which I couldnt manage a win with (damn sileighty), and one thats 200hp and 800kg that wins easily. :)
