Live GT5 Gameplay Featured on G4TV, Streaming Now

There’s dozens of GT5 gameplay videos pouring out of E3 onto the ‘web today. I’ll be featuring all of the best clips here in turn, but for now, tune in to G4TV or just watch the live stream video above. They’ve been talking up this special broadcast with the promise of a live GT5 demo, so we’ll all watch together and see if it lives up to the hype!

UPDATE:  Sorry, guys, so far this has turned out to be incredibly bad. I’m not completely what G4TV was thinking.

UPDATE 2: Ah, finally. It seems we do get to see our first NASCAR gameplay footage.

UPDATE 3: Apparently, what we’re seeing here is live footage of a GT5 demo at E3, which is being used in a competition. Contestants are being asked (forced) to set lap times around Indianapolis in a NASCAR car.

    G4 is doin some kind of contest there and the player who has the best time gets a prize pack of some sorts that includes a copy of GT5 when it comes out. That’s why they keep going back to Indy.

      Apparently this demo is being used to show GT5’s amage system so this guy was too good for that so he had to leave immediately.

      Probably just low quality connection streaming at low bitrate which means louder complex sounds don’t get through so well with compression.

      We shouldn’t be judging the sound of the game over a internet steam….

      I always wonder that. I just don’t see how they can’t understand that they have to break for corners… It’s as if they don’t even know what a car is.

      Makes me more scared of learning how to drive, knowing there are people like this on the roads :P

    Who was that guy who came on and ripped 1 lap. He was the only person who actually knows how to drive- tons of people took pictures from him after he did the lap (which was coincidentally the fastest) so I’m presuming hes someone famous?

    Well, I see races being kicked off with the 10 slots for cars in the race – all being filled.

    That’s confirmation of more than 8 cars per race (and some of you were concerned). It would be very nice to see if that is a window of 10 that can be scrolled downwards or whether this demo is restricted to 10 cars.

    Oh and please… God… Not… More… Indy…! ;-)

      It’s a competition involving Kazunori Yamauchi and a driver called Kevin Conway. Some fans get to participate and the person with the best time will get a bunch of games including GT5. That’s why it is all the same track and car.

    i am starting hate this game.. so much years and delays… only one trailer and no Kaz on the conference live stage… so much years and this sounds of car is finally it? it sounds like a vacuum cleaner…i don’t car of stupid 3D..I have 3D in my car in real life…I don’t need damage either, because I driver clean a precise..I WANT BETTER SOUNDS AND NO 200 PREMIUM CARS BUT ALL OF THEM!

    NASCAR – the poorest (and most god-awful boring) example of autoracing. An hour of this is unbearable. Now I know why so much beer is consumed by pot-bellied males at these real life events.

    You really can follow the action as closely as you want, too, moving about the track, focusing in on the separate cars, and sending messages to the players who are racing, hopefully catching them at just the wrong moment so they make a mess of the next corner and dump their Porsche into a nearby tree.

    BTW, his name is Kevin Conway, driver of the #34 Extenze Ford Fusion. He is leading the Rookie of the Year points standings. The reason why he is leading the ROTY is because he has finished every race he has entered, even though he could be laps down from the leader.

    Whoever did this demo needs to get fired, they are doing a horrible job and dont even showcase the beautiful graphics of the car by changing views, CHANGE THE VIEWS and add some more cars on track, wtf. Tire screeching noise seems to be improved.

    iD software is up live now on G4TV, there wont be anything worthwhile in the GT5 internet stream until “Multiplayer Madness” is live on the air.

    It’s pretty easy to see what’s going on if you’re watching both the live coverage on TV and the feed linked above.

      If you were watching G4TV, you would understand what was going on with the feed and when to expect something interesting.

      I’ve seem it be three different cars, it started as a Ford GT, start-pause crap, went to 1969 Camaro, didn’t do anything, changed it again to 2010 Camaro and started with the pause stuff, and then just drove. There is no loop.

    It was just for the TV spot. Call it marketing, without Kevin Butler. They just wanted to have the NASCAR endorsement. Olivia Munn was talking to him the whole time he was trying to race. Dude said the car felt “loose”.

      Even if the guy playing isn’t even aware that it’s a live broadcast (which he should be), that’s still some VERY strange behaviour in a game. You would think it’s maybe a cat or dog playing. A monkey, perhaps.

    Engine sample is still the same bland thing it was in Prologue. At least the tire audio has improved a great deal.

    It seems like his accelerator isn’t working or something. When he gets power it doesn’t pause. It seems to be mostly when he is hardly accelerating that it pauses.
