Awww… Seasonal event is tomorrow. Let me guess. TT & DT. B-Spec. A-Spec’s already been done. *Sighs* I like that fact they’re updating the game but what about the EVENT CREATOR!!!!

  2. Agent9

Gt5 annoyed me from the start with the amount of standard last generation model cars, how they got away with this is beyond me. I thought over time they would reply this fact by giving us more premium versions via download. I hate the fact the best to drive cars are still gt4 imports. I check for downloadable content often and nothing. I’m afraid to say that gt5 has fallen way behind the competition. We need new cars!! The range of cars is poor, jgtc cars have no place in this outing, same with rally cars. Maybe a dlc pack to address this.

    1. Dr.Frogg

You know, I think you would call GT5 a complete game if all standards was removed from the game. At first it does not make sense, but PS2 graphics on a PS3 game, will make the game feel graphically outdated and ‘incomplete’ compared to premiums.

    2. MyFavoriteGame

@Dr.Frogg – What you’re saying seems a little insane, “if this game had less, then it wold be more complete”….to the average gamer that statement would probably prob just baffle them. But I understand your point of view entirely…think that makes me even more insane than you are :D.

I think we all forgot how disappointed we were in Standard cars initially, and a lot of us were just happy to finally have the game in our hands. A lot of us hung on to promises of “Standard to Premiums”, which made the concept more tolerable, many of us fell for the “real damage at level 40″….and I think a lot of that false hope has to do with the incredible disbelief in how mediocre GT5 was.

Even today, with the many improvements made, the GT community is still waiting for that “thing”….the “thing” that will make GT5 the game they expected back in 2010. Even the avid defenders of GT5 have their moment when they just lose hope in this game and simply just look forward to GT6 with anticipation.

Should PD just put GT5 aside and focus on GT6?….should they keep trying to improve GT5, which might ultimately lead to the delay GT6?….conundrum indeed.

    3. Dr.Frogg

GT6? Kaz said it won’t be as long as the development as GT5, so when PS4 comes out, you might expect it as the launch titles.

    4. Progress823

GT5 needed to be completed prior to PD completely focusing on GT6. All of the other titles were completed, GT2 even was a double CD. If a track/car pack was very in depth (say, 150 cars and 20 more courses real world and/or original circuits, plus all classic GT circuits), I would happily drop $100.00 for it.

I am hoping this is not the future of racing simulators (incomplete games with lack of/lackluster DLCs in the hopes of getting buyers to keep buying the games.

  3. Pit Crew

Hows about a 10 car DLC Pack consisting of 3 350-400 ppcars, 4 500-550 pp cars and three Purpose built Race Models. One of each of the street cars in the 350-400 pp class and the 500-550 pp class are Race modifiable, and the whole 10car pack can be purchased as a whole, or individually. Just a suggestion. Take some of the ideas from the postings in this forum, as it seems when you at PD put cars in the game, you dont really try to give us what we want. Using the manufacturers that are represented in the dealerships should make your job easier. Sure this is a Japanese designed game however the fanbase is to diverse for this game to represent only Japanese brands. Not to mention Kaz is a judge for the three top Automotive awards (TopFlight Concourse de Elegance and Bloomington Gold) so no real reason for there not to be a more balanced roster of cars.

  4. Pit Crew

The fanbase has spoken Kaz & PD, I pray you are listening. GT5 has so much potential still to be tapped into. Seasonals need serious refreshing, DLC is much needed to extend our fun factor servers need to be able to handle our online racing. NO PRESSURE, lol we just want what we want, not what you feel should make us happy. You have a very good following so dont blow it now. A number of these suggestions ARE quite doable with the exception of Porsche, which hasnt even come close to appearing in GT series but somehow ends up in other Racing titles. my question why not? More to that saga then we think.

  5. Quakebass

What the hell is up with you guys lately? People are saying they’re going to stop playing GT, hope PD dies, and that GT6 shouldn’t be made. ALL BECAUSE THE DLC ISN’T OUT YET!!!

    1. Uppmas

You know how retarded the gaming community is nowadays? We here in GTplanet have living examples, unfortunetaly. I could give thousands of examples but I just don’t want to.

  6. Escort mk1 yum

These seasonals are way too easy, I thought I’d let my 6 year old son do them on the wheel, he took 2 attempts on the 1st in a bora, 3 attempts on London in the gsxr, and he done the last event in a skyline DLC, 2 attempts, moral of this story is, MAKE THEM HARDER, A MILLON TIMES HARDER!!!!!

    1. Progress823

I feel your plight. Unfortunately, these seasonals are catered to gamers rather than drivers. To settle the divide, we need the expert level seasonals on A-Spec to make their return, and keep the normal seasonals coming for the gamers.

  7. IRONBULL

TokoTurismo save that crap. You PD leechers have been leaking false hopes of info for months. GT5 is becoming a worthless game with a broken record style of A-spec rotation/standard cars and garbage servers.

As far as I’m concerned Sony can drop PD and I wouldn’t miss an ounce of sleep. Besides who wants to wait another set amount of years to play a 2.00version of GT5 anyway.

Polyphony Digital are the laziest and non-supportive developers in the business and that’s that.

    1. dylpro

You know GT5 is in a 2.00 version right? You obviously are pretty stupid if you didn’t already know that.

Also not to mention you can’t measure sleep in an ounce. Ounces are measurements of weight not time. You could say you wouldn’t lose a minute of sleep over it, but not an ounce. Stupid.

    2. TokoTurismo

Oooo IRONBULL you got burn by dylpro’s comment big time. Next time, think before you type, cause that’s what me and everyone does. Now settle down.

    3. MyFavoriteGame

Really?…this guy may be a trolling hater but you guys never heard anyone say “an ounce of sleep”?….I mean, it does sound kinda retarded, but its no different from “a barrel of laughs” or “a ton of fun” or “a shred of dignity”. People say these kinda things all the time.

And as far as GT6 being a 2.0 version of GT5,….PD does need to break away from the old formula a little, but of you think about it, the isn’t a whole lot the needs to be changed to make GT6 great. If PD visits this sites feedback section for at least 10 mins and do some reading, GT6 will be epic.

    4. Dr.Frogg

You know, this guy is successfully trolling. He just took away 1 minute of your lives for typing a stupid comment.

  8. chevelleSS396

Forza has more cars that we want in GT5 & it’s still not a better racer. The ZR1/Z06 are my favorite cars regardless of the new content. I want to see a US dlc. I have a strong feeling about that. Come on Kaz, CTS V, 2013 viper, Boss 302, GT500, M5 F10 & Porsche models!! Thank you Last-GT has always been the best since 12345…….etc.

    1. Pit Crew

Add Vintage NASCAR (50s to70s with Vintage schedule and field of cars and tracks ) and The Ford DeTomosa Pantera Big Block engines in the Corvette, 70 GTO Stage 3 RamAir, 396 Nova and Camaro SS, 429 70 SOHC Boss Mustang (Cammer not Vintage Muscle for street only class) 76 Bicenntenial Corvette pace car, 87Shelby Omni, 69 Plymouth HEMI RoadRunner. DLC Texas MotorSpeedway,Talladega,Martinsville,Atlanta,WatkinsGlenn, and Pocono, I WOULD play GT5 till my PS3 melted.

    1. HKSBro92

Whoa you’re going too hard man. They are not the worst. You and I don’t know what they are up to. For all we know they are probably making a 200 premium car pack or spec 3.0 (I wish) but just because they are quiet doesnt mean the arent doing anything.

    2. TokoTurismo

This is my last comment for this news. Well. It could be that Kaz is handling GT Academy right now, while his team are working on the DLC and update. They won’t release it unless he says so. I don’t know that’s how I see it as to be honest. But they’re not the worst though I’ll give you that.

    3. Foxiol

I think they are preparing a last huge update with a couple of features or upgrades for the ones that we already have and of course bug fixes…BUT also they must be working in Gran Turismo 6 to show a demo in TGS ’12 or maybe for E3.

One thing is sure…they are working.

The problem is that we are addicted to games and we want more and more and more and more and more and…oh yes…moar!!lol

    4. Lambofanghini

I haven’t enjoyed a game this long since the original GT. I didn’t see Spa coming nor the Aventador. The way I see it, GT5 has got to have the most complete collection of lambos period. PD has supported this game too much for me to dis them. I’m pretty sure they’re up to something big. :D

    5. TokoTurismo

^ Even though theres one that’s a unicorn, which is the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. Okay I see.

    6. TokoTurismo

lol. You kiddin? From your first post, it sounded like you were the mad one. So let me switch the table for you. Are you mad? Not really, but really frustrated and annoyed. Taking a nap is always the best option. ;) Good day.

    7. Pit Crew

Now thats ticked off. But EA is definitely the worst, though their games consistently offer more than they deliver. Hang in there Dr Frogg we will get something.

    8. Dr.Frogg

LOL, 14 replies of defending a lazy Japanese developer that is owned by a company that only got less complaints than EA. Keep it up.

  9. TokoTurismo

Is Kaz doing GT Academy at the moment? Seeing the news section with no news appearing really is putting me asleep.

-_- zzzzZZZZ I usually come to this site nearly everyday. I need to stay off for awhile…

  10. Progress823

As an avid player of Gran Tursimo since the beginning, this is first time that I thought that I purchased an incomplete product. With the addition of DLC packages, I was thinking, “Maybe, just maybe PD will finish this”. After 3 DLC packages and waiting for a 4th = still an incomplete product. I don’t know what it will take to complete this game except through DLC packages, with deeper content. I noticed someone mentioned Isle of Man TT should be added = totally agree. I personally figured that since we have the Nissan Option Stream Z in the game (abiet standard), we should be able to take it where it was designed for – The Silver State Challenge (for those who don’t know, please Google this – 98.7 mile course covering highways in Nevada, USA). This is a course that exceeds the difficulty of the Nurburgring 24H – imagine racing online with 10 people on this course.

This may be wishful thinking on my part for the Silver State. Easier courses for DLC would be Road America, Bathurst (GT 6 – but hopefully GT 5 DLC as well), Virginia International Raceway, Road Atlanta – I am sure these can be incorporated somehow.

For those that want to convert to Forza 4: My brother has this game for his XBox. He enjoys (and I do when I go past his place) certain aspects of the game (DLC packages are exceptional = Audi R18 TDI….), but he made this comment when he played GT5: “this is much more realistic, cars don’t feel arcady (for lack of a better word)”. It caters to more “game” than “simulator”, but a good game nonetheless with top notch content. Is it enough to make me convert? Not really, I like my hard tires to actually feel like hard tires and not softs.

    1. HKSBro92

It feels awesome owning both. When I want to feel like pro driver and whip out my Driving Force GT (still saving up for a G27) and play GT…but when I want to just unwind and have fun I play Forza and Project Gotham Racing 4.

    2. RB26 2jz

You need a life like no other dude, honestly…

Quit playing video games once and a while, please…

Drive a real car and see how that goes for you, and/or get a girlfriend

    3. HKSBro92

@RB26 2jz I need a life because I enjoy racing games? Seriously go f*** yourself. You know absolutely nothing about me because if you did you wouldn’t have said that.

    4. Foxiol

Cannonball Run will be great too. There is a version for rFactor that it is pretty fun. Of course it is only 120km long. ‘ONLY’ lol

I was the guy hoping for Isle of Man TT 60km, Targa Florio 72 km, and hillclimb courses.

If PD add something like that people will forget about that TDU crap that they want for GT. I don´t think we need some random and no sense driving around a city.We need real races and point to point races for make record laps and long fun (for sure) races.

‘Normal’ tracks get boring fast while still Nurburgring is the one that always keeps me playing most of the time.

    1. Progress823

+1 to Targa Florio – just watched a video of someone running this course in a Porsche 908/3 – 34 minutes. If this course ever made it to GT 5, I would be licking my chops at the opportunity to run it with an Audi R8 LMS Race Car….

  11. pantellica

ever since gt5 came out last november or december 2010 I think? (correct me if I’m wrong) It’s been 2 weeks for now the first time I didn’t play my gt5..ever since it’s release I almost play this game everyday…but now I think we just need to wait only for GT6 to come out, rather than waiting and hoping our wish list for gt5 will come out in dlc. If they will release dlc and some of people’s wish list comes out then that’s good, but maybe we can only just see PD or gran turismo game full potential is on gt6 and not on gt5 cause they will limit that on purpose to put more concentrate on gt6…just my opinion..you don’t have to agree with me..sorry for bad english.

    1. WTFnews

i fully agree with you i have played gt5 scince november 2010 and i have a lot of friends who have played gt5 ecery day unlike me becouse of some problems but now they start playing other games like cod and tdu2 but i will stik to gt5 until gt6 comes!

  12. lldantell

The 400 pp race is too easy because I got first place in a tuned lotus élan s1 without a engine upgrade

    1. granddriver

Personally, I think all the seasonal events are too easy. When they first started doing seasonal events they were a lot harder but people were complaining so they dumbed it down. I say instead of complaining it’s too hard, just step your game up!

  13. Neilson248

I’m not too sure why everyone is so hyped up about the DLCs… Personally I’m happy for pd to put they’re efforts into making a seriously good gt6 than to waste time obeying moany fans… People forget that gt5 was all new with incredible detail, maybe too much detail, I mean you can see individual stones and leaves particularly on the rally stages… For sure the game could be better and it’s obvious that gt5 is incomplete and so I don’t think Kaz and the boys need reminding that gt6 needs to be improved… After all gt5 is already a huge step forward from all previous gts in terms of physics and graphics… They are still learning how to perfect their art so let them get on with it and enjoy what we have been given so far… Stop waiting for Kaz to release new content and get yourselves a decent wheel and improve your own driving standards… Take your favourite car to the nurburgring and learn about its behaviour, there is a lot to enjoy about this game, the physics are outstanding especially when you have a good wheel…

    1. Pit Crew

we’re hyped because PD and Kaz informed us that ther goal was to improve GT5 with DLC. the Premiums list of cars is just not worthy of GT5 or it’s longstanding fanbase. PD has to own the fact their initial development strategy fell short, which is why we ended up with a product that seems rushed. If anyone can remember when game came to market we could by but not fully tune Fully Custom Transmission till level 40. stuff like that is what PD imposed on us.

    2. HKSBro92

Well kaz was the one that said dlc every 2 months. So of course people are going to ask questions. Yes some people are getting carried away with the whining but I can see why. You told your fans you’re going to give dlc every 2 months but haven’t given anything since january. I haven’t nothing against gt5 but don’t promise your fans things like and not expect to get complaints wheb you’re 3 months late

    3. TokoTurismo

That’s what getting me angry at Kaz. GRRRRR!!!! It’s driving me crazy. @_@ He’s making me believe he’s all lies! Ugh…

    4. BMfan

You seem to forget we got dlc in December as well,So it should have been Feb with dlc then April, can’t people count?
I bet the only reason he said it will be delayed in March is so he can go back to the normal schedule and hope that the fans aren’t as needy as they seem.

    5. MuoNiuLa

@Neilson: Any DLC made for GT5 will be put into GT6 so I don’t know how you came to the conclusion that wanting more DLC will hinder GT6 development.

And not everyone shares the same thoughts as you and they would rather get as much as they can out of GT5.

    6. Neilson248

@muoniula… All i’m saying is that despite the fact that we’re “supposed to get a DLC every 2 months” why don’t we just look at the long term and believe that GT is only going to get better… I get the impression that a lot if people on here expect to get what they want all time and moan if they don’t instead of appreciating what they have… PD will never be able to satisfy all of us at once so just enjoy what we have for the moment… We have a while to wait for gt6 anyway… Also Yes DLC will be used for gt6 too but not everything; as with every new console, there will be a lot of completely new content on the ps4 and surely using ps3 content on ps4 will be the same as using ps2 cars in gt5 which was not well-received so I’m sure transferable content will be limited… Also I have read rumours that the ps4 will be a big leap forward from ps3 which will make transferable data even more scarce… Let them get on with it, I’m sue we will get DLC but let’s be honest , each premium car need 6 months worth of rendering and circuits way longer so what do you expect them to send us every 2 months besides slight additions… No point in complaining about stuff we can’t change… Judge when gt6 is with us

  14. mercgoat

lets just hope after the 14/16 lvl tickets and a slight chance of a lvl 0 are released things change. Another 6 weeks and we find out what happens. Likely just car refreshes like that Japanese exclusive for no reason tesla race.

  15. MyFavoriteGame

Did a couple races online today….and I thought about something this game really needs, which is surprisingly not there….I would really like to know how for the car behind and in-front of me is….not just first place…I guess the screen might get a little cluttered with numbers, but i think PD can make it work.

  16. Toyota2jz

I’m a little worried here. With all these Events happening & still not one word from PD? :S Where are you Kaz!?

  17. TokoTurismo

My mind feels like it’s going to explode. Because Kaz/PD are letting the other racing games go far ahead of them, and they’re not doing anything about it. CM and EA before said they were boring and lame, hell, even from Forza 3 before said they were boring, and they’re not attempting to prove them wrong? They’re also making everyone really disappointed at them. What’s going on?

Can’t Kaz do something to prove to those developers they’re wrong of what they said? Or does he just take the arrow to the knee by them, laughing at his face… Saying “Pff, so worthless and can’t even step your game to make your fans proud of you. Your really are boring and lame, and thank you for proving it. *Dan Greenawalt walking off the other developers with half the dissapointed GT fans along side them*” I’m really really REALLY hoping they’re using our feedback for help to improve in GT6, in order to prove them wrong…

Don’t get me wrong, I love GT5 and still have lots of fun with it dealy, and getting GT6 for sure. It’s just I don’t want Kaz/PD falling behind in times. That’s just how my thoughts sees it, and I keep denying it. Come on Kaz/PD, you can do it. Please say something at least next week. :)

    1. mysticstryk

Have you played Forza 4? Don’t get me wrong, I love Forza almost as much as GT, but Forza 4 got boring and repetitive pretty fast. However I keep coming back to GT5.

    2. MuoNiuLa

I haven’t touched GT5 since I got Forza 4. I don’t find it boring and repetitive at all. At least in Forza I’m not stuck wondering what I can possibly do to have fun, unlike GT5.

    3. TokoTurismo

@mysticstryk Yes I have, but for some odd reason I play GT5 more. Guess because of how I’m making my cars look perfect in my garage. I love Forza 4 as well. But it’s a game that I have to tune my cars for events… GT5 does the same, but the PP system changes all that, and I like it. :) I’m just don’t want those other developers who make racing games down grade Kaz and PD. I bet with GT6, hopefully Kaz and PD will shut them up, once and for all. And with our feedback, we can help Kaz and PD make it even more then beyond. >:)

  18. GT4Lif

Get rid of the credit limit already, would you Kaz ! ! !

What the hell I’m supposed to race for if not for cash.

    1. RB26 2jz

If there weren’t a credit limit there would be too many hackers/glitchers for money, atleast bump it up to 40 or 50 mill…

You could maybe spend that money and earn it again? -_-

    2. Quakebass

I’d like to see the credit limit raised too… there’s six or seven cars in the game that reach the limit, so you lose whatever cash earned if the winnings would increase the bank amount over 20 mil… I wouldn’t really mind if the limit only got raised to 25 mil., as long as no car becomes the same price as the limit.

  19. Pit Crew

Great analogy researchALLwars, having played the same seasonal series online concept for the last couple monts, down from the one make 5 race series now we get three. Least i can tune and race the lower PP cars in my garage but I been doing that anyway beacuse I run random PP races online. Diversity and need to evolve seems to be lost on PD fars as these seasonals. If you werent making the new lvl tickets it would be totally mundane but now its just a lil tired.

Lack of news about DLC has got players antsy. Its a lil bit like the infamous PSN blackout last yr were as the more we didnt hear anything the more disapointed (most were vocal) we were. Gamers will be throwing suggestions at you till they turn blue in the face, so PLEASE, Kaz, let the cat out the bag.

  20. researchALLwars

    *sigh*

Anybody want the cliffs notes to the Laguna Seca race? No? Ok, here goes…

    1. BLOW past the 10 objects muddling around the track.

    2. Chase the freaking rabbit, who ends up about HALF A LAP away from the next a.i. competitor.

    3. Think to yourself…. wtf was that?

Another Time-Trial-With-Traffic. Wake up PD! While you sleep, your competition is starting to run away like that zonda…

    1. Afrojoe1

So true researchallwars! I have loved Gran Turismo since the beginning. Forza 3 slapped GT around a bit but still didn’t shake me. However now with Forza 4 I am totally sold on the variety of races, ease of online play, customization of cars, sound quality and pure enjoyment Forza 4 offers. PD could have done this years ago but they didn’t for whatever reason. I still hope deep down that GT will pick up the ball again some day soon…but…I don’t think they get it anymore. They are stuck in the year 2000. Times have changed PD. the game has changed…you’ve not realized this fact. Forza 4 has surpassed you in every way in half the time! I’d start considering a merger with Microsoft and put your minds together to get some really mind blowing gameplay.

    2. researchALLwars

I haven’t played any of the Forza series but based on what I’ve read they surpass in many ways EXEPT the most critical one: Driving Physics. I need that realistic feeling of the tires gripping/slipping on the “edge”, and I need it bad.

I’d like the two companies, PD and T10, to remain in competition- as the idea goes that should drive improvements which will be felt by the consumer. But it kinda seems that everyone pays attention to what Gran Turismo is doing, while PD pays NO attention to what any other racing game/sim is doing. This has basically been admitted by Kazunori, and when I read that quote my heart broke.

Then the next day my gf told me she was seeing someone else and I told her.. ” it’s ok baby, I haven’t the heart for you to break, anymore…”

    3. researchALLwars

Joking aside, I like your list of things to like about that other game..

*variety of races *ease of online play *customization of cars *sound quality *pure enjoyment

WOW. Those sound really great. But… does the sheetmetal of the cars in forza consume so much processor power that an energetic aura visibly emits from them? No? Aww cmon!

      ; )

    4. MyFavoriteGame

@researchALLwars – Some folks seems to think that this formula is ok, because Gran Turismo is Kazunori Yamauchi’s “vision” , we should just sit back and enjoy whatever is presented to us without qualm.

Other people think that things such as Liveries, Rims and Body kits are “arcadey” and childish, and don’t belong in GT5.

I wonder if i fit in with this crowd sometimes. I love GT5,…50% is because of how the cars feel on track, stunning graphics, great photomode and MM accurate tracks….but the other 50% is pure nostalgia I think…..just sticking to what I grew up with.

  21. Foxiol

Thanks to this seasonal i finally level up to 39 after beat the Laguna Seca race 6 times! (i am using the seasonal’s to level up because i am too lazy to make those two 24hs endurance races, and when i reach the mid of this i´ll make those ‘final’ races up to level 40)

    1. Afrojoe1

I too am a physics man which also was the reason I originally fell in love with GT. subjectively speaking I have to say having played both back to back…same car same track (I own both systems) they physics is pretty close. Forza 4 just feels more “planted”. This could be due to the fantastic sound that T10 incorporates into the game. It’s thick and meaty. A V8 actually sounds like it’s supposed to in T10. GT is lacking big time in this regard. In my opinion GT still tops Forza in replays. I know this may sound crazy but I watch replays like tv. I love to see the weight distribution on corners… The nose dive during braking…watching as the tail end push out as the front end aims for the apex. GT has always nailed this in replays. Forza is now just catching up. Forza 4 replays are great on some tracks and not so great on others….whereas GT nails every replay. My favorite replay to watch in forza is the top gear track. Which in my opinion holds true to the actual tv cams the show uses. But that’s just my obsessive fetish with lifelike replays. I’d encourage your to give Forza 4 a proper go. I mean really sit down with it…tweak your cars…benchmark them. Play it with a proper 5.1 surround sound system…play forza 4 and GT back to back then talk to me again. My bet is that you’ll also appreciate the physics and driving mechanics Forza offers. GT 5 just feels…anemic when I play it now. Please respond! I don’t comment much on here and still check here cuz…I hope…and wish still the GT will surprise me. BTW forza 4 is releasing a Porsche pack :) May 22…where are GT packs? Forza has been releasing packs every month since its release…

      There is always hope….

    2. Foxiol

      @researchALLwars …a little bit of those 3…lol

@Afrojoe…today i found a way to install the historic mod (from GTL remade by HistorX modder team for rFactor) in rFactor without the original CD of GTL which is/was needed to install the mod. AND i have to say…nor GT5 and not even Forza comes close to what it is rFactor (despite the pure awful outdated graphics). The sound of this mod is just amazing…the real deal and has amazing car legends from the 60´s and 70´s from Abarth´s to Ferraris, Porsches…etc (too many) and imagine that again with the real sound.
And i donwloaded famous Hillclimbs from everywhere and an incredible road called Targa Florio (72 km long and takes up to 40 or more minutes to complete, yes one lap to Sicily, Italy).
I´m having more than great times with this and if you really enjoy cars and driving physics you should try it.

GT series needs something like this but as “researchALLwars” said PD not pays attention or it seems that it is not paying attention to the competitors and that is a huge mistake.

Gran Turismo needs more customizations (mechanical and visual + livery editor for make online championships with your own teams using same car and PP/HP but something that says “hey! i am the other team look at my liveries” and not just “hey! my car is chrome yellow”).
Needs more variety in cars. Realistic engine sounds is a must and this has to do with the immersion in the game more than anything.
Needs more variety in tracks selection. Get rid of old tracks (at least the bad ones not the classics) and make classics from the real world as Targa Florio, Isle of Man TT, Pikes Peak, Bergrennen Hillclimb, Shomaru Pass touge and F1 and 24hs circuits as Dubai. And all this with day/night transitions and weather with no exception.Of course Rally courses and point to point time trials.(give sense to time trials with complexity and variety)

GT could be the best racing game of all time because speaking of graphics still has no rival (even pCARS which looks good but not enough to my eyes and i am full member) but from the rest it lacks or is mid way to be the best.

I love GT5 i really do but i am objective and i know what is wrong with the game and could be tons better.
PD seems that what people wants is less important than being original and stay with the same concept again and again. It is time to change.

P.S: please Forza is not the option if you have Grran Turismo. xBox + Forza means that you have to pay for playing online + yeah tons of amazing DLC´s = more money. No thanks…i´ll stick with my PS3, my already paid online service but not twice…and my copy of GT5 Signature Edition.

    3. Afrojoe1

Money is not my issue. I don’t mind paying for my automotive enjoyment. Rfactor has the benefit of being a PC game with tonnes of processing power. As for console games we are stuck with Forza and GT. I need the whole package…graphics, physics and sound. I’ll keep playing these games. I’m no programmer so I have to work with what is released. This is just my opinions of what I pay for :)

  22. Pit Crew

I @Quakebass Thats the reason I said unless it ends up in Gran Touring garage I realize it can go into game, but blieve me its on your shortlist of desirable cars, but not Kazs. I Kept it short and on point knowing that most poster/readrs like their suggestions /replies short.

  23. HKSBro92

What car did you guys use for the Laguna Seca race? I can’t get anything higher than 2nd place b.c the dude in 1st place is like sooo far away -_-

    1. mr_pepps

I used the Jag XJ220 LM – less than 625pp and raced an excellent fun and close 1st place win.
Crank the front downforce up to 45 tho, else it’s a bit washy.

  24. xXMann07

I love GT5, the only reason I purchased my PS3 Dec. 2010. but come on KAZ / PD. not even a slight indication as to what or when to expect some new content. My colleagues are up in my face about Forza4 DLC every month.

Kaz don’t leave us in the DARK, some news please. Take Care.

    1. tpark103

Like u I purchased my PS3 soley for GT5 and it is the only game I play. I am happy to say that now I am not spending 4 to 5 hours a day as I the first year. I have a life again, and it sounds like a few people here need to work on getting a life and making GT5 a hobby. No disrespect intended to anyone. :)

    2. MyFavoriteGame

ahhh…I remember the days when I could game for more than an hr in a day…..Back when I played FF-7 and GT1. Now, I have to be really sick in bed to pull that off :)….all those of you who can I say, “do it!” because the day will come…when you just can’t.

  25. DYLAN777-is-not

Its great to have more races but why is it ALWAYS the same pp? For b-spec too. 350pp would be nice 550pp, 600pp, an all fgt race would be fun, NASCAR etc but mainly CHANGE pp a bit. Id like to some high end sports cars in the high 500s or 600pp. Or some rally. I thought of this all within 10 seconds so come on who ever is in charge spend just the smallest amount of time to give us some variety.

    1. Quakebass

Yeah, just a wider range in general – the tracks were good this time, but we always get the same three 400/500/650pp races; how about some we haven’t even seen yet, like stock cars only or modded cars only (stock meaning no performance or aero upgrades, and modded as in requiring a performance part or aero kit, but no race-modded or race cars) with respective pp limits. (and in a different range) There haven’t really been many classic car events, and we nearly never see any EXTREMELY low pp values that we get on cars like the Kubelwaggen and such… (this may not appeal to some) How about a race with a 250 – 300pp limit, so we actually have a use for these cars, aside from laughing at how slow they are? If you make the opposition have VERY equal cars, it nearly becomes NASCAR at 40 – 60 MPH and right turns… How about some brand vs. brand or head-to-head seasonals where theres only two or a few car options between two companies or model years, so you get a “battle of the brands” race? We just need a bit more spice in the seasonals, for I’ve got a feeling that if next week or the week afterwards’ seasonals follow the current schedule, we’ll get some events that don’t bode well with the fans…

  26. carfanatic45

TWO ASPEC IN A ROW!!!!!! Ya Kaz, good work. Now we need you to graduate from seasonal events to non-seasonal, but monthly DLC!!!

  27. jmb27

I miss the days when they used to have events like DTM or JGTC. I’m starting to get tired of the same PP requirements for every seasonal

  28. Zamado75

    One problem…Very low payouts…
    Even with 200X Multiplier.

Apart from that, good job PD. Another successful attempt at avoiding the release of what we were due last month; DLC.

If I’m wrong, please DON’T correct me; wake me up when I get to drive an MC Stradale, not when I get to drive a low-rent turbocharged standard car around London.

    Zm.

    1. DYLAN777-is-not

Low payouts!!???? I got 500k for doing five laps. I get a million for one drift event. Im glad this guy isnt charge of making a game.. And dlc is every 2 months, last dlc came a month early so the math is 1 minus 4 is 3. So three months we wait. If you wanted people to ignore your comment then you shouldnt have posted in the first place.

    1. texans20

Their not low payouts at all… if we didn’t have seasonals, we would be doing a-spec races over and over for very low cash.

  29. texans20

They should use tracks that are not used much in seasonals like Monza, high speed ring, and the top gear test track would be fun. Thanks PD!

  30. Foxiol

Finally some races hell yeah!! (i don´t like the other events because you can´t earn experience points)

  31. yudge2k

    Update???
    DLC???
Go on the GT website and the newest news date from february… Please PD give us some news other than maintenance notices. Is PD working on an update or DLC?
Any news on those would be welcome!
    Thanks PD!!!

  32. Forza Mclaren

Can someboby help, I got a new ps3 and i’ve been trying to download all GT5’s updates but everytime it finishes downloading the first update I get an ( error code 80710723) then stops I cant say its my internet connection coz I can play F1 2011 and other games online

    1. sanesh21

Sorry dude, maybe because of your user name, nobody wants to help lol, anyway just try another ISP. It will work. I had those issues as well.

  33. Dr.Frogg

I think London in GT5 is very detailed and beautiful. I wish however that there is a night/day transition, and a weather system is cool too.

    1. Quakebass

      @researchALLwars:

Yeah, story of Seattle, here… If it’s added in GT5, it better have a rain option… otherwise, it’ll be too un realistic! XD

  34. salberts93

I say more 400PP races! those are the fun GT races, with small fun handling cars like the Mini or the 86 GT!

  35. Pit Crew

Please keep in mind that PD has already stated that anything new that would require rebuilding the game engine for GT5 would not be implemented into that title and instead would go into GT6. Best to hope for smaller rewards from this point on.

  36. BHalpen

Thought I’d chime in… I finally broke down yesterday and got a few things I wish were in GT5 for cheap! I’m loyal to PS3. So I’m not buying an X-BOX for one game (Forza). How’d I do it… for $20. bucks I got Shift 2 Unleashed. Now I have tracks “Road America”, “Silversteen” and “Batherst” and “Hockenheim” all with day, dusk or night racing. Plus all those Porsches! I’m not saying the physics is better at all. So I had to give up a bit. One thing though, it would take years for PD to add that many tracks as DLC and probably charge us $20.

    1. Gilius

How do you feel the physics on Shift 2? Im having a hard time to get use to, I feel the wheel like a pendulum

    2. salberts93

I’d say Shift 2 Unleashed’s racing sensation is a lot more intense and therefore more fun than GT but in terms of physics it doesn’t come close to GT, mainly because of the lack of feel. Fun game though, nevertheless

    3. Pit Crew

Shift isnt even a good carbon copy of GT1 . A bargain yes but truly just an arcade racr whos greatest accomplishment so far is getting Porsches into their game. It would drive better on GT. Tracks PD can get and the price is cool so long as its fresh and new not a download of a track that they intended to be in GT5 but ran outta time.

    4. Pit Crew

    5. Quakebass

      @Pit Crew

“whos greatest accomplishment so far is getting Porsches into their game.” The Porsches aren’t an accomplishment, its a robbery from all other franchises, due to the exclusive Porsche license.

    6. Keshian

Shift 2 has input lag. Hence you are sawing at the wheel. Poor game (Input lag feels like 0.5 of a second to me) in my opinion it’s unplayable :-(

    7. Quakebass

      @Keshian:

EXACTLY! That has to be the WORST part about Shift 2. You can start getting into a slide and get a bit out of control, and you try to correct, but the feedback take too long, and you just spin out. Or you try to avoid hitting someone, and you turn, but the feedback causes you to still hit them… SO ANNOYING! I think its about 0.7 seconds, actually.

    8. MyFavoriteGame

AAAhhhh….and all this time I thought something was wrong with my wheel, so I switched the the DS3.

The game isn’t have bad, physics shmysics meh….I honestly don’t know the difference, I drive my car to work, Walmart and Ale House, and neither GT5 or Shift replicates those experiences. (thank god!!) :)

I do play a lot of F1 2011 and GTR EVO on my pc…but GT5 is my default racer….I guess mostly because so many of my friends play as well.

    9. Froudeybrand

Shift 1 and 2 are terrible. Just terrible I am sure all cars slide the rear of the car out when Corning.

    10. TomBrady

      @Gilius
      Try these settings bro-
      Steering Lock- 540 degrees
Steering Sensitivity- 78%-82% ( I can’t remember, around those numbers)
      Steer Deadzone- 0 – 1%
Speed Sensitivity Steering- 20%- 40% (this one’s really up to the user)

I’m not sure on my pedal settings but
      Brake deadzone- 4%
      throttle deadzone- 3%
      Brake sensitivity- 40%
Throttle Sensitivity- 5% (this is the only way I can control it enough to get perfect launches)

Drift settings I don’t know because I HATE the drifting in this game

      @Dr Frogg
Dude, that’s ridiculous. Shift 2 is much more realistic than Forza. The input lag kind of ruins it but shift 2s physics are much more rooted in reality than forza, and the levels of tire grip is actually a bit more accurate than GT5 (but overall Gt5s physics obviously blow shift 2s and forzas physics away).

Play shift 2 on a PC, with one of the mods that corrects the input lag, it makes forza look like a complete joke, and that brings me to my next question, why would you mention forza and GT5 in the same sentence when talking about physics? they’re not even close when it comes to realism, forza is a video game, gt5 is a simulator

    11. Foxiol

@MyFavouriteGame, hi mate. I highly recommend to you to download the GT power expansion pack for Race07/GTR Evolution.Amazing sounds and great cars. (also i got the Retro expansion and it is pretty cool) BTW for free you can get some mods as F1 2007 from mak corp which has incredible sounds and physics, Formula BMW mod is quite good too and many more.

AND for those who don´t have a powerful enough PC try rFactor and download DRM Revival mod and Targa Florio track (yes free in rFactorcentral + there you can get tons of cars and tracks/roads/hillclimb, etc). Best experience ever in a racing game. Best physics and feeling. And for sure tons of hours of fun.
Targa Florio is an historic track located in Sicily,Italy and it is 72 Km long (it takes average between 35 to 45 minutes depends on the car). Like Isle of Man more or less.(an entire lap to the island)

I had to ‘touch’ the gearbox and with a BMW 320 Turbo or the M1 turbo is like a dream. Hope to see something like this in GT with those amazing graphics. And hopefully real engine sound as this mod has.

    12. Bom15

Shift 2’s biggest problem is it’s bugs. Same bug was in Shift 1. Did EA bother to fix it? No, of course not. I turned my game off one day. Restarted the next. Got my cars, got my cash and still lvl 20. But i can only race on the first track with a Seat Leon. I also bought all the DLC. Non of which works anymore. After mastering at least 3 quarters of the tracks. I am not starting the game again. So anyone who plays this game should back-up often. It’s not even that good. Physics are crap and the Vinyl editor isn’t as good as it should be. Roll on GRID 2 and Project cars. Project cars is the same people who made the Shifts. But EA aren’t involved. Which will hopefully mean better physics.

  37. Lambob

Saving my lvl11 ticket as my USB backup save, and will restore frequently to get a new car delivered, for what I feel are the best class of ~500pp Nurburgring cars.

  38. Blood*Specter

I think “B” Spec would be more fun if you could drive a few laps in multi driver races. But only a set amount of laps, and only once during the race. You get to choose which lap to drive. Most likely those races would be 11 laps total.

As far as DLC. I am inclined to think they are running the standard cars through the conversion shop.

I feel one of the original tracks will return as well. I hope it’s special stage route eleven with time and weather change.

It’s pretty clear PD already has the new NSX ready. So that car and perhaps another Ferrari (FXX) or Maserati MC12 Corsa
Even though they are both basically Enzo on steroids. :) Maserati is Ferrari’s babyt brother company.

Who knows, it could happen. I have so much outside work to do now, I can wait and watch for new GT5 stuff.

  39. TokoTurismo

What makes me more happy with these seasonals, specially A-Spec. Is that PD are selecting different types of tracks. Very happy about that, I love Deep Forest and London, even Laguna Seca. I don’t care to much about the PP anymore, because like someone said, you can/should tune them up to that PP level. Thank you PD for these seasonal. I’d played GT5 on yesterday, and HELL YEA did I had fun. :)

I hope those who enjoyed B-Spec, Thumbs up. ;) Here I come Suzuki Pikes Peak Trial Car!

    1. TokoTurismo

Btw. Wonderful picture Adrianf1. :D Agrees that the Aston Martin V12 Vantage looks better in “GT5” :)

    2. TokoTurismo

Are they suppose to care? I was asking. Since you replied, seems like you do. Haha. >:) Not even BWX will reply to me, not like he’ll “care” anyways…

    3. another_jakhole

      I actually care.

Who the hell are some of these people? They don’t seem to understand that we don’t care about what they have to say.

    4. RB26 2jz

I am BMX lol, I got temp ban for double posting, and what are you talking about I never reply? You’re the one that ignores me and doesn’t reply lol. Way to ignore me

    5. TokoTurismo

^ Sometimes whenever I read your comment, to me it sometimes sounds like your either angry or annoyed. lol The reason why I ignore your is because I’m coming up with something perfect to tick you off. Your funny when you say “fanboy” though, especially when your mad. XD

    6. RB26 2jz

I never said fanboy but alright, and I told you to ignore me, I prefer you ignore me… its an easy win so thanks for listening to me lol

    7. TokoTurismo

Haha got ya, I was testing you if you’ll ignore my comment. So it seems we can’t ignore each other. So it looks like I win. >;)

  40. mister dog

Don’t know if it’s because it’s quite new to me, but London reverse is a lot more adrenaline packed than the normal version.
Good choice especially with the more powerful 500PP cars.

  41. TheEnd35000vr

Actually a very intresting selection of races.
400PP was largely easy, but good fun around Deep Forest Raceway nevertheless.
500PP was superb, best in a while. Never raced on London Reverse before..I will again. Managed to win in a Tesla Roadster, against a MNP III Skyline :D
650PP was intresting around Laguna Seca, but still to easy for the 2J.
Nice to get a Level 11 ticket again, good job on it PD :)

  42. Scuderia Paul

I love London Circuit in GT5. During a Photo Mode session recently I turned the camera down Regents Street and remembered that there was meant to be a longer London in GT5.
If you look down some of the larger side-streets then Regents Street you can see that it was definitely going to come down there as the building detail is far superior and is practically the same as the actual current circuit. All window apexs are fully modelled and the texture quality is far higher than other non used roads and extends as far as we can see round the bend.

Flying down there in an LMP1 car would have been crazy.

    1. TomBrady

I’ve noticed that too man, good eye. London is an extremely underrated track. I’m surprised that some people don’t like it. I do wish it was longer but I still love it. Madrid and Rome are also brilliant tracks. PD really knows how to do good city tracks

  43. sanesh21

Let’s be honest, how many of us have actually raced London reverse? Give props to PD for giving us something fresh and challenging to do. Can’t wait to try this tonight.

    1. BlindZenDriver

      London reverse is good fun.

Overtaking is hard so I predict having to plan ahead to get momentum and position right if racing with a car that is not way faster than the AI ones.

Also Laguna Seca Mazda Raceway is always fun :-)

    2. MyFavoriteGame

I’ll be honest here, I haven’t maybe I didin A-spec once but I don’t remember,…that’s why I enjoy the TT events, its a good break from my usual Monza, Nurb, Monoca, Suzuka, Tsukuba, Sarthe and Fuji….I get to familiarize my myself with a lot of these tracks, plus I get to see how the rest of the community is doing.

    3. TomBrady

I’ve actually done London Reverse tons on GT5p. Most of my top 100 lap times were on that track.

But point is, yes, PD is awesome for picking something we dont use often. Mad props to them and you

    1. drshemp98

If there’s 5 cars i wouldn’t mind getting in a gt5 dlc pack they would be the agera r, the lamborghini gallardo lp570-4 superleggera, the jaguar xkrs, the new viper and the pagani huayra.

  44. PinappleJuice

I’m not all that keen on a new DLC but I think we need an update to premiumize the rest of the standards, and also get rid of all unnecessary cars in the game. Kaz even said that he would be doing it. It’s been around 1.4 years since the release we so desperatly need all cars premium.

    1. Quakebass

I don’t think any cars should be REMOVED from GT5, just not include so many pointless duplicates in GT6. There’s quite a few cars that are necessities for premium treatment; the Bugatti Veyron, FGT, and the RUF’s to start, though.

    2. hairystig

Standard cars won’t be converted to premium in an update, at best maybe some standards will get identical premium dlc treatment like what they did with jag xj13 LMP thing, think of the amount work required to completely remodel 700 cars, there’s no way they’ll do that for no return.

    3. Pit Crew

PD time is best spent getting newer car skins/specs for the available dealerships than putting premium treatment on standards. since RUF doesnt have dealership a premium model doubtful unless it ends up in GranTouring garage. by the way PD & Kaz, whatever happened to the 70 SEMA Camaro?

    4. another_jakhole

’70 SEMA Camaro won’t be available till later this year or GT6. From the way it’s always been, I think, they add the GT Award winners to the following GT game.

    5. another_jakhole

I agree with Quakebass, and I don’t use the standards as often as premiums. Most people still have greater use for them.

    6. Quakebass

@Pit Crew: Just because RUF isn’t in the New Car Dealership doesn’t mean it isn’t possible to get it there; thats what the graphic artists at PD are for. It isn’t that hard to make/get a PhotoShop file of the RUF logo… I think if PD adds/moves a new brand to the NCD they’d have to do at least 3, to make the grid look more professional, unless they make it a 4x or 5x grid instead of a 3x grid.

It’s actually much easier to upgrade a standard car to a Premium; PD’s already got the wireframe for the car (unless for some reason the engine doesn’t allow edits of the polygons and wireframe), they just need to add more polygons and fine-tune the physics to fit the real-life comparison. They also need add some new aero kits if they get converted; most standard cars have the same exact 3 spoilers as aero kits, if they have them at all; and NEVER (to my knowledge) have any front/rear/extension kits. To add a new model altogether, they need to start from scratch with whatever program they use, and get the driving characteristics built entirely, not just fine tuned from the previous model. (if even necessary). Then, they need to add the aero kits like on a standard to premium upgrade.

I don’t think ALL of the Standard cars need premium treatments, but there are some that just can’t go without it; the Bugatti Veyron is one such necessity.

I’d like to know about the new SEMA and Pebble Beach models that are supposed to come to the franchise eventually, but more over, WHERE’S THE NSX? We saw a trailer with it about 3 months ago, and it didn’t get put in DLC 3… I wish PD would say something… ANYTHING! We saw a trailer for the Toyota 86, and got it about a month later… though, the NSX may have more difficult areas to design/program with all the braking energy converted to electricity, and the separate wheel speeds in the corners… whatever it was, the car’ll probably be here in DLC 4.

  45. Quakebass

It seems GTPlanet has gotten a little happier today… Can’t wait to see the reactions to the upcoming DLC… whenever it is.

  46. HuskyGT

Oh yeah baby!!! Finally some A-Spec!! Still the same 400, 500, 650 pp range that will make it like older A-Spec events but the choice of tracks are unbelievely different!

First Trail Mountain now Deep forest! Yes, I love classics!!!! And London Reverse? I think I haven’t even raced in that configuration before!! And the big even is at Laguna Seca. My GT LM is ready for some racing at its own ground. Can’t wait for tomorrow. GT5 is alive :D

YES!!! I love london reverse, better than the forward version. and.. VW NARDO W12 IN ONLINE DEALERSHIP!!! PD, YOU F**KIN OWN!!!!!

I’ve tried using the OCD as a prediction for upcoming DLC… but it’s never came out true. Who knows? maybe it will this time. Porsche would be great; the only Volkswagens I’d really like to see is the new 2012 Beetle and a premium treatment for the Karman Ghia. I don’t care as to what Porsche we’d get if they were added, as long as there was 3 or more.

    2. Kobooi

Yes and even better, all the cars in the OCD have 4 wheels just like Porsches have, surely that must be another hint that we’ll get Porsches. The OCD was updated today 12/4, so we’ll get 12 Porsches with each 4 wheels or for 4 euros, that’s not so clear yet.

    3. MuoNiuLa

lol Whatever. Just being realistic here.

We got a buch of BMWs last time in the OCD. Does this also mean we’ll get more premium BMWs including the old M3? Not likely, but you be the judge of that.

  48. MyFavoriteGame

Yes the credits from Laguna Seca is much needed right about now…getting kinda tired of circling nurb w 650pp anyway.

The only thing that fires me up a little bit is the VW OCD…

New Seasonals look meeh… Too bad we’ll have to wait another month to see some more A-Spec Seasonals again… ¬¬

    1. TomBrady

that is something to be fired up about. The nardo is one of the best supercars in the game easily. Handles like a champ even after you drop 850-hp into it, it’ll still do just fine even with the stock tires. Love that car.

Why oh why would you even reply to that guy?

Looking forward to doing London Reverse with a 500pp car. If only London Reverse was for the 400pp cars.

Yes we do. As I don’t like to continiously repeat the same events over and over again to get XP to Level Up, It gives us all a reason to come back to the game when Fresh Races are produced more or less every week.

  52. Marky264

I think the recent popularity of the Time Trial London Event sparked this Event :) Had lots of fun ragging my Kart round London’s TT!

    1. Quakebass

Yes, we do. A-Spec was too short, so most people here want the new events. Basing off your other comment, you seem to be VERY interested in DLC… So what do you use the DLC for once you get it? You either drive the cars, use the paints or driver suits, or race on the tracks; or all 3. So wouldn’t you want events that incorporate the new DLC features as well? We recently had an Italian car A-Spec event useful for the Aventador, and then had a drift/time trial with german cars that decently fit the requirements for the Volkswagens we got in DLC 2. We’ve had a couple with Spa.

I’d like more events that incorporate more DLC features and a wider range of less-commonly used cars like country or region-specific models, stock (no performance upgrades allowed) and non-stock (basically requiring the use of a performance upgrade) model races, and bring back the drivetrain-limited races, just with higher PP-valued opponents; this doesn’t seem too hard. And I agree, Toyinster, it is good to see that PD still updates the game with events… I just wish they weren’t so quiet.

      @deadcat777:

You should have expected the new seasonal; new seasonals are ALWAYS added every Wednesday night or Thursaday afternoon… (depending on time zone). I’m just as impatient as you for DLC, but getting angry over something regularly scheduled was unnecessary. I’m guessing the DLC will be out in a week or two… DLC 1 (aside from North American delay) came out on the 18th, DLC 2 came out on the 20th, and DLC 3 came out on the 18th. So, unless it gets delayed again, we should see it in 7-9 days. Please, next time you get impatient, be quiet about it, or complain about something that needs complaining about.

I spent yesterday ragging a 615pp Jag XJ220 LM car around the Nurb for 750k credits. Great fun – stick the mid-range turbo on it and you have a very tight race indeed, often having to slipstream on the last downhill run to earn 1st place.
I’d recommend it for anyone a bit bored with that a-spec seasonal.

As for these new events it seems I chose the right time for a few days off work! Loving GT!
