New Gran Turismo Track Revealed in NSX Concept Video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08eA3364Hyk

One – or possibly two – new circuits have been revealed in the latest promotional trailer by Polyphony Digital. The video, seen above, celebrates Acura’s new NSX Concept, revealed today at the North American Auto Show in Detroit.

The most prominent new circuit features a harbor in the background, with ships, cranes, and shipping containers. A large, architecturally unique tower is also visible; first beside a high-speed banked turn, and again in the distance.

A possible second track can also be seen around 1:43, characterized by flat terrain and a large satellite dish, similar in appearance to those found at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory’s Very Large Array (VLA) in New Mexico, USA.

Polyphony Digital has already posted the video to their website, but offer no further information on the availability of the Acura NSX Concept or the new circuits.

BTW, to those asking, song name is Me & You(Dirtyphonics remix) by Nero

If you want the song, i could email it.

  2. Robibitz43

This car just oozes technology. Hopefully if it ever gets released IRL, TG UK will be one of the first to test drive it.

  3. Nobu34

nice music, but they totally ruined the cool factor of the NSX with that ugly hybrid design. on top of that this course shouldn’t be DLC. PP please don’t turn into a money hungry sell out. you gave us a game that was like 70% completed and yet you’re selling content that should already be there in the first place.

    1. jay27

I agree with this comment 100% In regards to the NSX (it doesn’t borrow ANYTHING from the original designs, very generic), and the fact that PP is selling out and charging their loyal fans for content that should have already been included in their on-shelf product.

It should be seen by Kazunori Yamauchi…. But would he care? :/ I don’t like the direction the game is going in; they have strayed from the tag line of “real driving simulator”. Another game can rightfully claim that now.

    2. L8erBaby

Really? Things like this car wasnt even released at the time of GT5’s release. If we are gonna pay for this, its because: If this car was already made in 2010 or earlier it would probably be in this game. And since It wasnt he is now putting in the game. If this car was in the release game, this game would’ve been more expensive.

  4. marktyper

Come on you guys! It’s a concept and it was just revealed earlier this week about the NSX concept so PD’s probably still working on the Interior view… GUESS WHAT!? AWD NSX yo!!!

  5. pestre

The dynamically-styled NSX Concept gives an indication of the next great performance vehicle from the Acura brand. Making use of lightweight materials and a mid-mounted V-6 engine, the NSX Concept employs several new technologies for Acura, including application of Acura’s innovative new Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® (Super Handling All Wheel Drive™) hybrid system.

Útilizing an unique 2 Electric Motor Drive Únit wîth a bilateral torque adjustable control system, the all-new hybrid all-wheel-drive system can instantly generate negative or positive torque to the front wheels during cornering. Acura anticipates the new Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® will deliver handling performance unmatched by previous AWD systems. In addition to the handling benefits of the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® system, a powerful next-generation VTEC® V-6 engine wîth direct-injection works in concert wîth a dual clutch transmission wîth built-in electric motor to create supercar acceleration while offering outstanding efficiency.

‘This Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system will make NSX the ultimate expression of Acura’s idea to create synergy between man and machine,’ said Takanobu Ito, president and CEO of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. ‘The NSX will make the driver one wîth the car to enhance dynamic driving abilities without getting in the way.’

While most supercars opt for brute force delivered from a large engine, the NSX Concept champions the true racing philosophy of an extremely favorable power-to-weight ratio.

‘Like the first NSX, we will again express high performance through engineering efficiency,’ added Ito, who led the development of Acura’s first NSX supercar. ‘In this new era, even as we focus on the fun to drive spirit of the NSX, I think a supercar must respond positively to environmental responsibilities.’

Who noticed that Big variation of that high speed ring corner at2:27, the two bridges looks way diferent from the one in GT5.

  7. xx666Kris666xx

I am really interested to see this new test course, is it just me or does it look more triangle shaped with a big sweepingbanked corner out over the water and a smaller possibly tunneled corner at the other end, the reason I say this is you can see the “other” straight in part of the video and it looks to me as if there not parallel.

    Now! want it NOW! gah…

  8. Space Empire

    Update 2.03 coming soon.
The new circuit in this video is ‘Special Stage Route X Oval’ which is included in the new DLC ‘Speed Test Pack’.
And you may expect ‘Car Pack 3’ which has 6 new cars.

    1. TokoTurismo

Really? :D Can’t wait. :) Maybe the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 maybe in Car Pack 3. :D But I really like the NSX concept alot and the track of course. ;)

    2. TokoTurismo

O.O….. Excuse me for a second. “Goes inside the GT Planet closet to cheer wildly.” :) Okay, I’m done. XD

    3. Space Empire

Do you want some more? :)

      Nissan – Leaf G 2011
      Aston Martin – V12 Vantage 2010
      Volkswagen – Vollkswagen 1200 1966

      Lamborghini – Aventador LP700-4 2011
      Mini – Mini Cooper S Country man (R60) 2011

    4. TokoTurismo

GASP!!! The Jaguar XJR-9 LM Racecar 1988 and Vollkswagen 1200 are become premium!!?? 8D And The four new cars really coming to GT5!? *v* WHAO! Where did you get this information from? :D

Thank you very much for posting this info! I’m curious how you came across it, but it looks legit to me! Can’t wait to top out the Aventador :)

  9. dan0543

title says new car, members say new tracks… lol.
pd would be panic building and bricking it by now if they only had cars prepared

    1. Elitekilla29

yeah it is crazy that everyone is paying attention the track in the video instead of the New NSX. When they add the nsx to the game im getting it right away. lol

  10. Elitekilla29

The new NSX looks amazing. Hopefully its really fast. Also the track that they showed in the video is probaly test course. Maybe its test course but redesinged. Or maybe its just a brand new track that we never saw. We will see when the next dlc comes out. Which will be in febuary

  11. BolgOfThe North

I was wondering what was happening with the NSX, at last Honda will have decent car in their range, let’s hope they can be bothered to sell it us in Europe.

  12. RacingDesign

Nice?? That car is horrible. It wants to be modern and doesn’t know how. The front of the car is so boring, and the back is just a copy of a Zagato design. I want new lambos right now!!! :( And what about the Ferrari FF? Please PD, Europe and Italy also make cars, not only Japan

    1. Foxiol

      @RacingDesign
I loved how you put ‘Europe and Italy’…as i know Italy is part of Europe. lol You like Italian cars as much as i do but PD needs licences for every car and every track if they want to include it in the game. Is not as easy to say ‘hey our beloved fans wants that car, let´s put it in the game right now!’ cause it is not as simple.
I stopped asking for cars and just waiting for NEW ones despite the manufacturer.
If you really want to make a game for the masses you should put ALL cars on it. But again…it is not as simple as it sounds.
That´s why sometimes is better to have games on PC because modders can make your dreams come true. I play tons of racing games and simulators and i have every car because of that BUT i wish some of those appear on GT5 as well. But you can´t have all in this world.

  13. 2013SHELBYGT500

Screw the car (not really though), gimmie’ the tracks. There’s been a test track in all GT’s except this one, and by the looks of the vid, it seems to be coming back. Hopefully…

  14. JoeH187

Let’s hope that someday Honda returns to it’s roots from the 70’s/80’s/90’s. The new stuff is just generic puff.

  15. SZRT Ice

I personally want more fictional courses. Fictional courses can be made in house, while scouts are out there getting measurements and track side data for real courses. Like courses with big and possibly dynamic back-drops and set pieces… Say a track near a waterfall, or a carved out mountainside, A New York Track like the one in PGR3 &4 (K, not fictional, but big, beautiful, mand full of objects giving you higher immersion and sense of speed, e3specially on the bridges), or an actual forest with towering trees to race through with a bit of fog. Idk, something more alive. The cars in GT do indeed get all the love, but the tracks by comparison don’t measure up. This is the first [NEW} track that I’ve seen that has some real roadside beauty, let’s hope there will be more to come…

    1. Praggia

I agree we need more interesting tracks. How about the Old Hockenheim track that tore through the forest 2 long slightly curved sections punctuated by two fast chicanes. I also think some of the tracks r just too widein GT5 makes the cars look too small and impacts heavily on the sense of speed. Also someone mentioned GT 5 being at the forefront of newly released cars and concepts etc and having a great relationship with manufacturers how come the lack of new cars is so striking lemme give u an example
      Aston Martin one-77
      Ford focus RS
      Renault Megane RS
      Lamborghini Sesto elemento
      BMW 1M
      BMW m5 F10

      not even and Audi RS4???
      i mean come on

Forza and especially NFS nowhere near gt5 but they keep people interested cos they have some really kickass cars and yes before you all shoot me i know its more than just the car its the whole experience and I agree but you cant ignore all that HOT METAL can you??

    2. Sk1lin3

      @ Praggia
The Reason why we dont have these kind of cars is because thay all have Special Right to these cars. so we cant get those cars including
-Porsches in General( Not RUF’s )
      -Lamborghini Aventador
      -Pagani Huyara
and many other cars everyone would’ve expected us to have in GT5

  16. solracarreug

The acura thing concept i couldnt care less, but the tracks look nice, although i hope they dont take the Forza way with spetacular tracks instead of good ones like the old ones, i would rather have the old ones

  17. JKcreativeworks

Highly possible would be the Test Course, i can tell by the banked turns and the 200m mark used for the 400m/1000m/Max Speed test @Test Course.

    1. Foxiol

I believe is an upgraded Test track with variants. I don´t know if you heard about C.A.R.S because they put a very nice Test Track with variations in the middle. It is a huge oval (like a huge circle O) and in the middle you have different tracks united. You can move freely wherever you want with the car.You start in a garage (a paddock) and then have entrances for every track variations or sections as Hillclimb, High speed oval, Drag Strip, Skid Pan, Sweeping Bends, and Humps and Jumps. It is pretty cool and better than a simple oval. you have all in one place like an open environment.
Maybe the new Test Track in GT5 comes with some variations inside of it.

    1. Jordan

It’s more difficult to create real-life tracks. Aside from the constraints of digitally re-creating a circuit to its real-world standards (buildings, landscape, etc.), licensing issues and costs must also be accounted for.

  19. Foxiol

Every video from GT5 makes me want to cry…It is the unique game that after one year of the release makes you feel that is a new game. It feels like i bought it yesterday!!! (Signature Edition from the first day here, and i delayed a trip because of the launch date)
This car and the track/s looks oustanding…this game is beautiful. (despite if it is not perfect as it should -to me add real engine sounds and fix some details in shadows and all car premiums and becomes perfect-)

    1. Foxiol

This car will be free with the next update as was the Toyota GT86. (maybe because they showed us other teasers with cars and then we have it for free apart from DLC car trailers)

  20. TokoTurismo

Why do I have a small feeling this car will be free with update the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 will be a part of the DLC pack. :D But I do hope it’s the “GT Classic Track Pack”, would go well for the seasonal events for sure. =)

  21. jah24car

that one with the car’s front facing the front looks abit like Nurgburg, the other 2 looks bit like Test Track rebuilt and a special GT5 model track… hmm???

  22. KYD302

My big thing here with Honda is that the Company is starting to struggle there ATV/Motorcycle sales are the lowest they’ve ever been Because of how Fast Polaris Ind. has grown they have 4+ new models every year with new features which has cost Honda billions in loss and on the Auto front Toyota Sales have even put a big damper on Honda, Scion a cheaper car yet just as reliable and most say a better quality car then the new age Honda’s are killing there income which leaves me to believe that the NSX is another Publicity stunt to encourage buyers back to Honda or that Honda is willing to risk it all and go for broke on the new NSX weather or not Honda builds the NSX is still unknown but i’d lean more to the not likely side of it Financially it doesn’t make sense for Honda to risk it all on a new car that very well could flop.

  23. AndeMoog

Nice video. I’m glad to see Acura is, in fact, moving ahead with the NSX hybrid project. My only gripe is that the rear taillight setup is almost identical to that of an Aston Martin One-77.

  24. canieaturchikn

This NSX concept needs to come to DLC along with HSV-10. How come so much love for Nissan but not Honda. This new NSX is also gonna be designed and built in the US at the Ohio plant so maybe us yankees will finally get a Type R if they made it. I really hope we get a new track DLC cause they’ve been teasing us alot with these kind of videos and no new track DLC last time.

    1. A_Higher_Place

I always wondered why they’d not have a test course. Nascar on a test course is common sense for anyone who knows about nascar

  25. Maxymilan

This will probably come available end of this month, PD already said there was going to be a update on the second half of january.

  26. African Kat

Honda is really spoiling there racing heritage. I’m a honda fan but this is not what the nsx deserves..and the new Civic is ugly :(

ah well, i’ll be happy to hang on to my EK

  27. Master_gamer438

Sweet, i love the NSX’s, finally no more GT-Rs for a while. But i woulld like to see more concept cars…2013 Supra?

    1. jah24car

DLC comes out, added a GT-R to it for no reason to be a troll, Nsx, and hopefully the new Huyndai Veloster, and some other good cars.

  28. BadBoyBoogie

I’ve been meaning to get into drag racing for a while, so that track will give me the incentive to start playing about with some suitable tunes. I really hope it’s included in the next DLC.

  29. JamieStarr

Maybe it’s the First Trailer of Gran Turismo 6 ? When they Spend so much Time by creating New stuff for gt5, they will have nö Time for gt6 ?

    1. HoSway01

They may just carry over everything from GT5, (once it’s perfect) to GT6 since 5 was like an enormous beta for 6.

  30. NJ72

i’ll be happy if/ when the tracks and car come out, but what i would really quite like from that video is the slo-mo replay option… there’s a sweet section of the NSX concept in slow-mo and it looks awesome. I’d love a slow-mo option in replays… one that actually renders in slow mo to capture all the detail… *drools*

  31. Dynamite_Dave

@Delko yup thats what i thought.. could be top speed heaven all over again. Im happy to see this car though being a lover of NSX`s although iagree with others please lets see some more Euro US cars!!! And i wont shut it about wanting the Cerbera 6 LM Race Car back in the game, that car could take on all the DTM and GT500 cars would be a great edition to the pack( oh well keep dreaming Dave).

  32. manofsteel

Whatever track it is, it’ll just be another one be plagued with inconsistent frame rate and screen tear issues. Monza, London, Eiffel, SSR5 and 7, the new indoor Kart track and Spa, run like sacks of sh*t.

And I’m a GT fan. Have been since day 1!

    1. SZRT Ice

Not to be so strongly stated as you, but yes, I’ve noticed it too. I think it has much to do with the new “static” rear camera, as I haven’t noticed it as much in the other angles.

  33. tika

I really do think we don’t get those tracks soon, look at the new 2.0 disc there are no new tracks in that game. just 6new cars from early 2012 dlc and there is no mention of new tracks, so don’t get you hoops up too high for this is just a video teaser.

  34. tika

Great news I would like to see some new tracks, concept cars I don`t know really if that’s what I want. But that’s what PD does. I would like to see some real old cars like the Bentley 4 ½ litre Lemans our the Bugatti type 35 our 37 the Alfa Romeo Monza 1932 or the lotus 43 racing cars that made history. It is great to see PD looks into future but why we forgot the past these are the cars that made cars here to stay.

  35. PletdeKoe

It looks like the tracks are just Trailer Tracks. The harbor is very similar to the harbor used in the previous Toyota trailer don’t you think?

  36. ajrichar

The video is a welcome new thing to see and is an encouraging pointer to future DLC as well as a continuing interest in GT5. But I don’t get the orgasmic replies of people professing undying love for PD. It’s a new trailer only with no concrete promise of anything. The NSX looks good, although the rear of the car looks better than the front. I won’t get into a ‘I hope they make this’ type reply because there are so many of those already. But as long as PD keep posting videos of new work, it suggests that there is more life in GT5 to come. Good stuff.

  37. fureddo

That’d be so nice to have those tracks in the next track pack dlc!!!
GT5 is like old French wine, it gets better as time passes! Oh mon Dieu ce jeu est excellent!

  38. svenram

It’s one track and one track only, me thinks. You can see the harbor together with the tripod thing at least in one shot at 2:41. So much for learning a new track… Not complaining though.

  39. Whitestar

The test track would be really cool to have. Another track that would be really great is Citta di Aria. That’s the one single track I want. Would love to do some tight small-town driving.

  40. j8mie

This does look very promising indeed.

It’s clear PD released this in conjunction with Acura’s concept, so with a bit of luck PD will be announcing some more DLC very soon, which I suspect has this car and a couple more tracks on offer.

I’m as eager as so many others to see some of the older tracks from GT re-appear, but it’s clear PD want to create new locations instead of just doing high res versions of older tracks. I can understand their thinking, as they don’t want each game to basically be the same and the previous one, but then it would be nice to see a couple of the older tracks return………….as always with PD you never know ;)

Roll on the next batch of DLC.

  41. gt_goggo

i’m affraid that we will get new SS7, or Cape Ring, i don’t like it to much that tracks. i hope for tracks from GT 1 – 4, or some real world tracks. but we’ll see when it comes…

  42. kollosson

Polyphony like to keep us guessing bless them, i think the next update ( as well as new track ) may contain some standard to premium what you think ? :)

    1. Lambofanghini

I was thinking the same thing. If there was another new car ready to go then we would have seen a vid on it by now so maybe premium Veyrons for everyone then. We will have to wait and see, I guess.

  43. spal

another pointless track that doesnt exist in real.

    WE WANT REAL TRACKS !!!

i had to buy NFS to check some other real tracks as GT5 got only few….

    1. MadmuppGT

Cool, how is NFS? As for the tracks I think these tracks look awesome, why keep thing bound strictly in reality when you dont have too :)

    2. GT6mebe

real tracks take time to make…gosh use some common sense please racing game dont even offer tracks as DLC……Forza only got 1 track as dlc in a year…..we have already had Spa, Kart Space and now this be thankful.

    3. moxlox

What I don’t want is more F1 tracks. Played them countless times for years, and to me this is not what GT is about.

Real tracks are great, so bring on Bathurst, Pikes Peak…..Rheims (ok that was F1 once!)

But I love fictional tracks too as you get some interesting innovation in them.

    4. linupix

Few like the only laser scan Nürburgring track. I rather quality then quantity. PD take your time, please ;)

    5. TokoTurismo

You guys don’t think the tarmac version of pikes peak was in the teaser, right? I looked at some pictures of Pikes Peak and it had some trees that were green. Just asking. Or maybe Bathurst?

  44. MadmuppGT

I…. I just wet my self… that thing looks awesome, and those tracks look cool… Next months DLC for sure!

  45. Alromaithi

Don’t get too ahead of yourselves it must just be a new photo mode setting (especially the port). Nonetheless I’d be extremely glad if its a new circuit. We want Yas Marina Circuit and Dubai Autodrome!!

  46. TheeFrogmanlego

Great =D my analysis thread has actually proven the track to be one and not two some guy spotted the tower in back ground =D
it seems to be an oval “test track” half on land and half on water , and to top of the enchilada! there’s day / night cycle

  47. Super_Colossal

It’ll be weird going around a new Test Course clockwise. Not like I’m complaining! I wanted Test Course so badly!

  48. Toyzri

The assortment of choices is much better in Forza so you would think PD would try and up their game with tracks and cars.

  49. Quakebass

I wonder if we will finally breach 400 MPH with this/these tracks… Fastest I’ve seen is 394 MPH.

Also, when the preview for the Toyota FT-86 was released, the car came free in the 2.02 update, so I wonder if this will be free as well… But I DO NOT mind paying for it, especially if its in a pack of cars/tracks.

  50. PS3LUV3R

They need to release DLC more frequently. 2 months is starting to feel way too long. They would be making more money and keeping more people happy…

    1. recca

before we weren’t getting anything so be happy you’re getting something and they can’t just create these tracks and cars in a couple of days…

    2. moxlox

The support to GT5 from PD is exceptional. I was amazed when they said every 2 months, especially considering the level and quality that PD apply to everything.

2 months is just perfect; and remember the free seasonal updates which happen all the time.

      Bravo PD!

  51. zippy_the_cat

If Honda’s considering a new NSX, then by all means PD should model and release it. Let’s have a little less anti-Japanese bias when it comes to these issues. I’m all in favor of having more American cars in GT5 but here in the US, the Japanese makers are all big players.

I rather hope Honda follows up and actually produces the new car. The old NSX might not have been a true supercar but it was one cool-looking ride.

And if PD has another HD-quality track ready to go, by all means let’s have it.

  52. TokoTurismo

I loved the trailer so much, my heart was beating so fast from all the excitement. 8D The car super rocks and does the new track, reminds me of the Test Course. ;) Kaz and PD and Gran Turismo, I love you dearly. :D Really I do.

    1. GT6mebe

I know right….stuff like this makes me happy that I still play GT5. I have put off skyrim to play GT5….anyone whose played skyrim will know how hard that is.

    2. Whitestar

Yeah I know, haha. I put down Skyrim yesterday to make money in the B-Spec event. I’m playing both at the moment. :-)

  53. Tiddle

I Really need them to make more american cars YESSSSSSSSS, 2012 mustang, cts-v, 2012 Taurus sho, the chevy volt (dare I say), 2012 ZL1, some crossovers, trucks, i mean I’m probably asking for way to much…..but I can hope rite??? But regardless of that I do have to say that I am very very happy with what they have done so far and listening to the fan and trying their best to give us what we want. THANK YOU PD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  54. LaBounti

Yawn……CTS-V Wagon would get me more excited.. or anything new that’s not Japanese or just a new version of an existing model.

  55. MOTORTRENDmitch

Great! Hopefully this Is packed with new Super cars, I will agree want more muscle cars.. But not Oldies, i want the new Mustang (any model/multiples) Cadilac CTS-V and others, I hope the new DLC will be a supercar pack above all, NSX, Aventador, Agera. Please PD.. A livery Editor is omthing I would pay for reguardless of price

    1. Tvensky

I want shelby eleonora from Gone in 60 sec. :) and alot of other old mucle.. and some new ones wouldnt be bad.

  56. GNX

Couldn’t agree more about American cars. I’d like to see more classics such as a few variations of the 72 Stage 2 GS 455, 72 GSX, 60’s – 70’s 442/Hurst, the ’87 442, Monte Carlo SS, some more Pontiacs both old & new (G8 & G6 GSP). Race versions of the Grand National (The ones with V8’s in them, raced in NASCAR) and the above cars where historically accurate, and on and on I could go. :-)

  57. hsdioce

That was dope. But I’d love the possibility that there would be a test track, and that Acura looks pretty sweet if you ask me

  58. A_Higher_Place

Gran Turismo 5. The Real Concept Simulator.

But seriously, looks like a test track, and a drag strip.

  59. Doober

okay my honest opinion is there is definitely a test course or at least some kind of oval track. but the second track to me appears to be “Spa”. i know for sure some scenes were spa but i kinda hope i am wrong about that.

    1. VspecZR1GT2RS89

      10000000++++

And both the NA2.5 NSX-R GT from Homda and the Spoon version that was made for the US. :D

I can picture drifting that around Fuji. :)

  60. v13esim

i feel were too heavily focused on the tracks, i mean SWEET we got new tracks, the one located in the docks looks sick. What im interested in is the how the new nsx is, im mean this video hints at having multiple drivetrain layout and have one wheel “regenerate” in corner. Possibly to let the tire with most pressure cool off, or is it so the car’s momentum is pulled in tighter to the corner by the centrifugal foce pulled on the car?

    1. SZRT Ice

It’s to regenerate the power to each seperate drive train. They can all be used simultaneously, or, the rotation of the tires not in use can be used as obsorbed energy, while the tires in use do all the work.

    1. HKSBro92

My 1,000 horsepower Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR disagrees with this comment. We need long straights. All we have is special stage route 7 which is starting to get boring.

    2. MoLiEG

      SSR7 has always been boring…

If this is some kind of New Test Course… I welcome it… I still can’t believe they killed the track for GT5…

And of course, If that night track happens to be SSR11… man!… I’dl pay 10 bucks for it! :D

  61. Skython

It’s not new tracks, it’s new track, aka Test Course. Look at the shot on the long straight at sunset, it goes into a long backed corner where the other shots are. It’s jsut Test Course.

  62. GReeK_W1ZaRd

Hmm…..maybe like the FT-86 when its movie was out, maybe we see this NSX in a future DLC or something? And I REALLY hope we get our hands on those 2 tracks. Also, I REALLY hope we see all that in the next DLC/Update.

  63. xx666Kris666xx

Feb DLC update should be interesting….

That is the same test course in my opinion just at night, still a mega test track will be nice!

I could have sworn I saw a flash of El Capitan in there, maybe i’m just dreaming LOL,

    1. Tvensky

for sure, some days earlyer I was playin GT5 with my g27 and got boored.. and the reason was so many great cars, but so small amount of tracks.. I realy hope PD is creating DLC’s full of tracks… I need alot of them to keem me alive for GT5.. I will buy all tracks they put on sale.. just do it.. even old GT4 tracks.. missing them alot..

  64. justmakethiswor

NSX concept looks awesome! Would like to see a little bit more of the original NSXs style in the rear lights and spoiler. I hope they put an appropraite power plant in it!

    1. VspecZR1GT2RS89

I feel you bro, by using the NA1 style, maybe including the pop-up lights, or NA2 NSX with the HSC concept lines adding some of the curves giving it a retro and future look that will be a spectactular look on the NA3.

Or use the body and chassis of a HSV 010 “NSX” just convert it from a FR drivetrain to a MR design. That’s how I been thinking about the new NSX will take the look from. But I still like it.

Love the new track design, looks like the Test Course in a whole new perspective :D!

  65. vale0220

When i see the track by the harbour all im thinking is that it could be the Valencia F1 circuit that was built 2-3 years ago, anyone else?

  66. Satellite440

Awesome! But could we get some more American cars please? Like the CTS-V, the new 2012 Charger and Challenger and the 2012 302 Boss mustang?

    1. KYD302

Yeah i Agree The American car culture definitely got the shaft in this game Chevy Camaro SS/Z28 vs Ford Mustang GT/Boss/Mach 1/GT500/Bullitt has always been one of the biggest rivalry’s in the auto world its like EVo vs STI and yet for mustangs on the game we definitely got crap the premium wont keep up to the SS 10′ on the game which is sad because the gay 4.6l that ford used for 14 years in the mustang made some impressive numbers hp when built and on the game we cant even see 700hp out of it i’m sick of PD and there idea that smaller is better engine wise look at all these GTr’s that are over 700hp but yet you have a s/c v8 that cant even hit 700hp come on PD get real and i want the race mod option for more cars in the game and lets see the 2013 Shelby GT500 with its 650hp and 580ft lbs of tq and another thing we have standard mph but why is there no standard weight system 90percent of Americans are not familiar with the metric system and its weight differences i know the difference and still find it annoying i want pounds not kilo’s and as Satellite440 said CTS-v 2012 charger and challenger also str8 300 2012 and get us both models of the Boss 302 standard and the Leguna Seca version and add the Camaro ZL1 and the GT500 2013 for a good new battle which Chevy will lose based on there numbers we WANT AMERICAN THINGS TO CARS, DRAGS, TRACKS and how about Silver-stone raceway from GT academy i’m rather surprised we haven’t gotten that yet

    2. mykem

Unlike that other driving game developer (the one that has a letter and a couple of numbers), PD knows their place in the larger scheme of things- that is to promote JDM and Japanese car culture. It’s been that way since the beginning and to them that’s their reason for existence (Modus operandi and/or Raison d’être) and that’s not going to change.

    3. FishyJuice

No, please. Sure, I’m for a more diverse car list. But it’s not a Mustang or some other FR muscle/pony car that I’d want first. Agreeing with JoeH187, American cars in large numbers are unnecessary and not a especially fun addition, and the same goes for cars like the Huayra, Aventador, and such. I just want more unexpected and quirky choices. I loved the addition of the Scirocco, etc.

And constantly wishing for US performance cars on every new post regarding possible DLC isn’t gonna make it happen faster.

    4. linupix

GT5 has plenty of American premium cars

      – Shelby Cobra 427 ’66
      – Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR ’08
      – Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe ’06
      – Dodge Viper GTS ’02
      – Dodge Challenger SRT8 ’08
      – Dodge Challenger R/T RM ’70
      – Dodge Challenger R/T ’70
      – Ford Focus ST ’06
      – Ford Ford GT ’06
      – Ford Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car
      – Ford Mark IV Race Car ’67
      – Ford Mustang Mach 1 ’71
      – Ford Mustang V8 GT Coupe Premium ’07
      – 1970 Ford Mustang Trans-Cammer (SEMA Gran Turismo Awards 2009)
      – Chevrolet Camaro SS ’10
      – Chevrolet Camaro SS RM ’10
      – Chevrolet Camaro Z28 ’69
      – Chevrolet Camaro Z28 RM ’69
      – Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible (C3) ’69
      – Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C5) ’04
      – Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C6) ’06
      – Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C6) RM ’06
      – Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C6) ’09
      – Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C6) RM ’09
      – Art Morrison Corvette’60 (SEMA Gran Turismo Awards 2006)

I do want 3 more Mustangs, the GT, the BOSS 302 and the 500GT. There are definitely a lot of American cars in the game already.

    5. JaySin85

Agreed that there needs to be more American cars. Not Camaros or Mustangs either. Well, maybe one or two more of each since there are better models then in the game, but that’s it. When I think of USDM cars, I’m thinking ones that will compare to what is in the game already. Which includes a lot of cars that are not muscle cars…

      Cavaliers
      Cobalts
      G4
      G6
      G8
      Solstice GXP/Sky Redline
      Ford Probes
      Escort
      Vega
      Fiero
      Beretta…

and lots of other compact/subcompacts from the 60/70s that were RWD and would probably be lots of fun after some tuning.

If someone thinks America lacks cars that would be fun to have in this game, they do not know cars and the automotive history of the US. Sure, we do miss out on a lot of good cars other countries get, but we still have many good ones to choose from.

    6. novaman1970

how bout (hence my name) a 1970 chevy nova ss….have yet to see one in a video game
      or a 71 buick gsx, 70 cutlass 442, 71 sd455 trans am, 1967 shelby gt500

  67. Watt2159

I think that they are the same track just at different times, either way, I really hope these are released soon, maybe a hint about the features in the 2.03 update?

    1. gordogg24p

I was thinking the same thing. Looks like all the same track, just based on the yellow numbers on the pavement a la Test Track.

  68. cmbeal317

Those new tracks look really nice, as does the new NSX concept. I’m thinking that the NSX concept at least will come with the next update/dlc.

    1. Tvensky

EPIC conversation with yourself, it was so funny for me could not ignore.. sorry.. but you made me laugh hard ROFL! ;)

  69. CarBastard

That’s why I love Gran Turismo.

First of all, it’s important that GT is taken in such a high steem by car brands. They’ve got a heads-up versus the competition, videos like this show that the guys at PD get to know most cars even before the media does and even have time to model it.

Second of all, both the tracks and the car look thoroughly modelled. The video is a teaser, and yes I know it’s only a teaser, shows great quality and attention to detail. It also looks very nerdy and full of information, absolutely brilliant.

It also shows that PD is feeling the enormous money injection we fans are giving them. They might be showing this video with the intention of telling us that they are doing a lot of work, bringing new cars and tracks with frequence. Sony should also be granting PD more resources now given the amazing sales of the DLC.

Finally…THAT’S GREAT MUSIC!!! :D Does someone know the name of that song!?!?! :D

    1. occasionalracer

Absolutely, the buisiness/promotional relationships they have with auto industry is beyond what any video game has ever achieved. Really gives me hope that PD has the ability to grow into a much bigger and even stronger company.

    2. Tvensky

I knew someone will ask the name of the song!!! thanks alot…

going to download it ASAP and put in GT5 playlists ;)

  70. occasionalracer

I like the “PDI Line” cargo ship… I wonder if this is a fictional or a real world port, possibly Japan.

  71. NaViTo

The one whith the harbor is for sure the new test track version! All you can see is a flat straight in the video…

  72. Swagger897

Wow, too bad the game”almost” never looks “that” good.
So don’t hate on me but, I’ve been in the forums and I’m starting to get the gt5 players memo. WE don’t want anymore Japanese cars. GT has hit on one of my thumbs up by picking the dealers (premium) that only have from 1-2 cars there. I applaud for that, but it’s about time we get better cars. This will be a great edition though, GT AND PD just need to hit up on the Jags, Aston Martins, Audi ( especially the new R-18 (( OH MY GOD!!!!))) .

Like I said in the forums, it’s what we want, They should have polls for DLC cars but not tell us what they are.
    Thanks!!

    ( SECOND!!!!)

    1. MusicalArtist

Well, with the money involved in making a new car for GT5, it helps to have a company giving them money to pay for the car being put into GT5 because they want the publicity that GT5 brings. If they were able to get a deal with other companies, I bet they would get more diverse cars added, but currently, it seems like Toyota, Nissan, Volkswagen, and Honda have advertising/publicity product deals with Polyphony Digital.

    2. GT6mebe

lol the game does not look that god…..you have not experienced GT5 yet as I have seen times were it looks just as good.

    3. BlindZenDriver

      Let me correct you.
Unless you’re royalty or has been an official representative of something then stop speaking about yourself as “We”.

I for one will be happy to get more Japanese cars as there are still plenty of great ones to get. That is not saying I would mind getting non-Japanese cars but Aston Martin’s and Jaguar’s still missing leave me pretty cold.

    4. MyFavoriteGame

@GT6mebe – Yeah me too, I have a SONY Bravia led….and the game does look this good a lot of the time, except for the occasional shadow flicker…I have quite a few replays saved from online and off, where GT5 just looks gorgeous

  73. ZDUPH

Anyone see the right hander right at the top of the cliff at Cape Ring? Also this looked fanmade until I saw the actual GT5 gameplay with the NSX concept. IDC if it’s a hybrid or not, it’s BEAST. :D

  74. belzebutt

Can’t wait to drive it, but it’s going to be the only new car in a pack filled with more GT-Rs.

That circuit looks a lot like high speed ring.

  75. GT5user1

hopefully one of them will be a drag racing strip because in the last few seconds of the video you can see a long stretch of tarmac.

  76. MusicalArtist

That banked track was in the 2.0 Intro Video. It is with the two BMWs with the headlights on (M3 and M5) and it is also at the end with the X2011.
I just realized that. So this isn’t the first time we have seen that track.

    1. superfluous2

I think the banked track with the BMWs was Cape Ring. But it was at night, so I might be wrong.
The X2011 was definitely not there though, with those markings on the ground..

    1. kollosson

I think your right djs, that was my first thought, if you think of the original there was no real track side detail, this new track looks amazing and looks to be on the same scale as the original test track, would make sense to update it, can’t wait : )

    2. seanchump

I think so too. To me it looks like one big track with a giant tower, cargo containers, a satellite dish and straights.

    1. caasimun_18

cockpit!? i doubt the objective of the promotional video was to showcase its interior looks, but more of its technical advances with the battery powered motor infront and mid engine. It looks gorgeous! Another thing is, it could be really fast. Basing this theory on what i saw at the alms (porshe gt3 hybrid) hopefully this car will try and take on the sls or 458

    2. shurnster

I understand what you’re saying I’m not mentioning about cockpit cam. But for the fact that the NSX concept windows are tinted. It’s a beautiful car. But other cars in GT5’s promotional videos showed concept cars with you being able to see the interior of the cars (from the outside). Hopefully when the car get’s released it will have a fully detailed cockpit. If it doesn’t lots of GT fans will be upset.

I agree. I hope their new concept will be able to compete with other exotics.

    3. Lambofanghini

Nah, most of us GT5 fans are used to most concept cars not having a cockpit. Well here’s hoping they include a cockpit in this one.

    4. jah24car

Noting the Toyota FT-86 Concept it had interior veiw and all the new car relased had interior view so it’ll have interior view!!!

    5. pasigiri

I think since the concept was just revealed, no one has been shown the inside OFFICIALLY hince no cockpit view. PD probably has started/already modeled the interior, but due to Acura policies and releasability, they can’t show it. That’s my guess at least.

    6. onig341

yea but look at the citroen gt concept, it has a fully functional cockpit, so there is a chance it will be made :DD

    7. Austin864

yes, but the GTR Proto ’05 and the FT-86 Concept II don’t have cockpits. Why? Because the physical concepts never had them.

Look at pictures of the FT-86 II concept in real life and you’ll see it has really tinted windows due to the fact that it was just intended to show off the newer exterior design. That’s all.

    8. msb

I don’t know if have anyone noticed, that this track as been showed before in the intro movies…
In intro movie 2.0 you can see this track 2 times.

I’ve asked myself… are the tracks “hidden” in the game? And we are just paying for unlocking parts of the game we had bought?

For instance when i bought the first DLC i don’t remember of downloading nothing… Just a thought…
