A new Civic-centered (pun intended) Seasonal Event is now available in Gran Turismo 5, open to all generations of Honda’s icon with no more than 450pp. Here’s the races:

  • Deep Forest Raceway (5 laps, 339,000 Cr)
  • Clubman Stage Route 5 (5 laps, 345,000 Cr)
  • Suzuka Circuit (3 laps, 368,400 Cr)
  • Tokyo R246 (3 laps, 362,700 Cr)
  • Eifel Karting Circuit (5 laps, 371,400 Cr)

Note the Online Car Dealership has not been updated with any new vehicles. Thanks to RACECAR, danjee, and Eduardo for the early tips!

pasigiri: you win a Jaguar XJ13 for winning the Indy 500. Seems easier than grinding 20,000,000 by wining 40 500,000 credit races.
I think there should be a seasonal for only the XJ13, Ferrari 330 P4 race car, Ford Mark IV. High dollar seasonal or something to that effect.

The Civic Seasonal is way too easy. With anything close to 450pp it is a piece of cake. No tricky oversteer to deal with since Civics are FF. The way I keep it interesting is trying to be in 1st place before the 3rd lap of 5 lap races. The Supercar Seasonal is a lot better. More fun, more of a challenge, a little faster races and a little more dough. Formula Ferrari Seasonals are a challenge; I’ve won them all but still don’t win consistently.

Im using the ek9 tuned to 440pp its unreal, by far the best every mod aprart from turbo and weight reduction

  4. tesla99

The supercar race pays more. Around 500thousand for a 5min race. I used zonda r race car. Last race on there. Randomly generated track but short 1min laps and 5laps

    1. pasigiri

You aint kidding. I’m doing the same thing. I’m trying to get a 20,000,000 credit car. This seems to be the only way.

  5. Versatile

I’d say the fastest/quickest cash is the lightweight cup on the last track. (Far right). You can even use an RM Cappaciuno however it’s spelled. It’s 3 laps and it takes 56 seconds per lap. 304,000Cr. in 2min 56seconds

This is the 3rd easiest seasonal event, behind the FF (no restrictions) and the supercar challenge. Easy money and easy to lvl 24.

    1. kmg43

Yes. This^^ I was hoping with all of the proper race cars in the OCD, and with the 24 hours just last weekend that we would be getting a little “Mini-Le Mans” this week. Would have been cool. I love driving all of my LMP’s.

    2. armydude

specially with the 24 hrs of nurburgring coming up in july. it just makes sense to have that race in the seasonal events. I say one race for the LMP’s, and one for the JGTC’s (now called Super GT), on real-life tracks like Fuji Speedway, Nurburgring and Tsukuba. that would be way better than a truck challenge seasonal event in my opinion.

  7. PHATLADSDAD

THIS GAMES OUTDATED HOW MANY UPDATES NOT BAD AS IT TOOK 5 YRS TO MAKE ITS ALL THE SAME GRIND GRIND GRIND ROLL ON FORZA 4 A PROPER SIM THIS GT5 IS ABOUT AS SIM AS MARIO KART

    1. KFM

Yeah, who knows, maybe with the fourth edition they’ll make Forza a true realistic racing sim. *snicker*

    2. BobWho

Funny you guys just got a decent wheel. How is that A proper sim. With out proper wheel support. You don’t have a proper sim. ;)

Btw I personally would ban these people. No need for their craziness.

    3. Lost and Found

      Excuse me sir.

      .?..,,.!.. <—–Somebody turned these in.

It looks like you've lost yours, and they seem to fit your post.

  8. BigBang

This is all me… love my honda civic’s :).. the only thing that bummed me out was the 450 PP thing.. i dont like being limited to what my cars can do, but overall its real fun and it shows that Gran Turismo is taking further steps to improve the game. Thanks GT Crew

    1. Broken record say wa

Says the troll whose claimed to have sold his PS3 has far back has two years ago, and supposedly doesn’t care about the game anymore, (“not his style”), yet still hangs out here posting his constant dissapointment with every update.

  9. Type R

That’s what I am talking about! I hope all the track will work and won’t freeze not like the Subaru sedan challenge in which i always freeze at the corner after the chicane at Laguna Seca. Fix the bugs!

  10. banner77amc

Cmon people who is tuning to only 400 pp? Took my one premium si and tuned it with exhaust, transmission, air filter and ecu. Won every race. Tight on some but I won.

  11. TakumiFuji01

Yes! Get to used my EK9, EG6 and some other Civics I had :). Might use my EK9 made by Spoon!

    1. Liquid07

I can confirm that the Spoon EK9 is not allowed to race or any other tuner / race civic except the premium RM EK9 which I done it in, way to easy tho, overkill.

Also was I trippin or did my PP not change going from comfort hard tyres to sports hard for the race?
Was expecting a challenge because of last Seasonal, the civic races are nowhere near that difficulty level… sadly.

  12. John Marine

As a newcomer to Gran Turismo 5, this is my first action in the Seasonal Events. I competed in and cleared all five races with a Race Modified 1997 Civic. Maybe the craziest thing about this is that one of the AI racers I squared off against was named D.Hobbs… David Hobbs, much? Anyhow, it was a nice experience! A big part of this was in toning down engine power to help out the Performance Points (PP) limit. I used the winning money to buy me a F430 Scuderia and a Lotus Evora.

Anyhow, give this Honda Civic Competition a go! :)

  13. 1990DaytonaZB

I’m currently away from my PS3, so can someone please tell me how many PPs a fully tuned Civic RM is? I want to get an idea of how hard (or most likely easy) this new SE is by judging how many PP I’ll need to shave off of one of my Civics in order to quality for the races.

    1. starscream0206

i believe my fully tuned RM was about 507 pp, ive raised it from 850kg to 1110kg and from 400hp to 220hp

    2. GT5noo

I won the first 3 races with the Honda civic you win early on…SiR II. No upgrades…took the lead on the last lap so a relatively easy event…good fun

  14. HellaFlushed

I love the new event and how you can keep doing them to get more and more helmets/suits!! IMO, the best one to do for the suit is Stage Route 5 and Eifel for the helmet!

  15. GOTMAXPOWER

I’m looking forward to winning more race suits and helmets from the seasonals, the money is ok too but is already easy to get, a remote race update would be nice too since its been a while

  16. Wallbreaker

Oh no, I was just about to grind money fur the current bunch of cars in the online car dealership -_- There were at least 6-7 cars I still wanted to buy… I really hate tose quick changes…

    1. Mr_Hansen

Did you see what Jordan wrote?
“Note the Online Car Dealership has NOT been updated with any new vehicles”

    1. ........

      NEVER.
Kaz has decided too many people spam up unrelated articles whining and asking when the next update is coming, so he’s announced that he’s not making new games, or updates for old ones anymore, and he’s taking up pro level checkers instead.

    1. Sins1er

Please tell me you aren’t putting an ae86 in the same “class” (whatever that means) as a Honda civic.

    1. Butters

      Yea YAY-UHHHHH!

It’s weird how PD only added one Seasonal Event and one that’s model specific.

    2. Butters

I’m expecting the cars in the Online Car Dealership to be made into Premium cars. Kaz did say there are some CLASSICS he wanted to be made Premium. The Veyron is in there, a car that is 100% going to be made into a Premium.

    1. Ner0_sol03

nO I was just tired of the shunters and the ppl that feel like they have to lean on your car in every turn

    2. R1600Turbo

All the public lobbies may be the same, join an online racing series. MUCH better racing, guaranteed.

    3. Amac500

If you intended to buy it back then why did you sell it? Not a very profitable return. If if I didn’t like it at first I would still hold on to it to give them a chance to update it anyways.
