Sony may finally be ready to re-start marketing efforts for GT5. As spotted by long-time GTPlanet user DaveTheStalker, Gran Turismo 5 will be sponsoring Speed TV‘s prime-time lineup of shows next Thursday. Although it is not entirely clear what this means, we’ll almost certainly see our first television commercial for the game here in the United States (let’s hope it can measure up to “We Love Cars”).
More importantly, this is the first major sponsorship since Sony teamed up with Schick razors back in October, and should only help fuel rumors of the game releasing even earlier than expected…

“Gran Tu-reesmo 5″… I don’t want to sound like “you say to-mato, we say to-mah-to,” but at least pronounce “Turismo” right. Anyhow, I’ll try to check out the GT5 marketing. I know I’ll have plenty reason to be excited to see GT5 on my TV 15 to 30 seconds at a time.
Gran Turismo is Italian (translates to ‘Grand Touring’), therefore “Tureesmo” is probably more on the money than any other pronunciation.

Funny how under the GT5 logo at the very end it says “coming soon”, they could have also wrote “coming, maybe, at some point, we think” :)

My question is, why did they start running this at 3 in the morning? I have SPEED on by default most of the time. I’ve seen it 3 times now. Hopefully the game will get some talk time during these last two NASCAR races and the F1 finale.
They are on a twice an hour schedule. Saw it again at 4:52
This is good. However, I think it would have been better if GT5 was a commercial during the final F1 race on Sunday
