Win a Trip to the 2011 New York Auto Show with Nissan

Nissan is hosting a special online contest with an awesome prize: a trip for two to the 2011 New York International Auto Show! To win, you’ll need to make a video of yourself describing your favorite, most innovative features of your Nissan vehicle, and upload it here to Nissan’s Facebook page. (Note that you’ll need to be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. resident to be eligible for the contest, per Nissan’s legal constraints. Read the official rules for more.)

Better yet, I’m excited to announce that Nissan is teaming up with GTPlanet to bring this competition to virtual Nissan owners in Gran Turismo 5! Even if you don’t have a GT-R or 370Z parked in your real-world driveway, load one up (or any other Nissan car) in GT5, make your video, and you could find yourself on a plane to New York in less than two weeks.

If you’re afraid your video couldn’t make the final cut, don’t worry – it’s still worth a shot. In addition to the grand prize, registered GTPlanet users who take part will be eligible to win one of three more prizes:

  • First Place: a special edition, Nissan-branded Flip HD camcorder.
  • Second Place: a Nissan jacket.
  • Third Place: a Nissan t-shirt

I’ll be personally selecting the winners of GTPlanet’s competition, all of whom will be announced shortly after the results from the main contest are decided by Nissan. To summarize, here’s all you need to do before 9:00 AM on April 12 to take part:

  1. Make a video between 30 seconds and 2 minutes in length about the “best innovations” found in your own Nissan car or your favorite Nissan found in Gran Turismo 5 and upload the video here. This will put you in the running for the New York Auto Show trip prize.
  2. Once your video has been uploaded to the Nissan’s contest web page, post a link in our forums or the comment selection below to enter GTPlanet’s own mini-contest. You’ll be contacted by email if you’re chosen as a winner.

I’d love to see a GTPlanet user take this one all the way to New York, so grab those cameras now and get to work. Good luck, guys!

Hmm, I don’t know if its worth it to enter for myself. I live 15 min away from NYC, so the plane ride would be almost useless and if I can go to the auto show, I’d just pay the $20 bucks for the cheap tickets.

    A. So for the GT5 Nissan video, does it have to be about all the “best innovations,” or can it just be a cool video with a Nissan in it?

    B. If I do not reach the date requirements and I do have to say all the best innovations, can I make and edit the video, but have my dad be the person explaining the car?

  3. Migvt

I’m heading to new york the dates the show is on I hope i can attend, just have to convince my dad.

I would really like to enter, but i fear if you do not have a capture card, you have no chance to win!

I asked them about that and yes, Infiniti owners and fans are also welcome to enter this contest. :)

So for the GT planet competition you also need to be a US resident?
I’d understand that Nissan wouldn’t pay the trip to NYC but the other prizes maybe could be send by mail :D

Unfortunately, yes. You must meet the eligibility requirements to enter Nissan’s contest, and they’re the ones who will be supplying and shipping out the GTPlanet competition prizes.

I saw the U.S Resident requirements and spiralled into depression.

Plus apart from my aftermarket stereo there’s nothing really innovative about my white-on-grey R31. Unless supreme reliability’s your thing.

:( US only.. It would be awesome to travel from Europe to USA, that would be very good prize… from USA to USA -new york.. still good if you never been in NY.. good luck with the event!

I don’t know which to pick between my red Skyline, my blue Skyline and buying a black one…

I’m going to be at the show on the 25th since I live about 10mins away. Seriously hope it’s good! :D

I doubt he’s lying. The New York metropolitan area has a ton of people, and even if you live outside the city it’s very easy to get to. Walking distance from Penn Station.

Detroit and Los Angelas autoshows are always the best… The car companies pull out all their stops at these shows!
