Your Car in Gran Turismo 5: GT Awards 2010 Call for Entries
The 2010 GT Awards are right around the corner, and Sony is taking applications from all SEMA attendees who want a shot at getting their car featured in Gran Turismo 5.
Kazunori Yamauchi himself will walk the show floor and personally inspects each entrant, choosing his favorite vehicle in five different categories: “Hot Rod”, “SUV”, “European”, “Domestic”, and “Asian”. These finalists are brought to the GT Awards party, where the winner will be announced and eventually included in a “future” GT game. This year, though, the official rules specifically state the winning car will be made available in Gran Turismo 5 (presumably via download), so hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to give it a spin.
The awards have brought some interesting and unique cars to the series, including Art Morrison’s 1960 Corvette and GT4‘s 1964 Buick Special. Check out the video below to see what happened last year:

Dear people who can’t read…..The game was done over 3 weeks ago. This has nothing to do with finishing the game. Kaz has already said it was done. They were only 3 days late on their deadline. The reason for the big delay was blu-ray manufacturing and the fact that the 3 days they missed meant they had to give up their manufacturing time slot at the factory. They have all the time in the world to do whatever they want now. Chances are these cars will be DLC or in GT6. Also, chances are that Kaz and the rest of Polyphony are on a much needed vacation.

this is random and nobody probably cares or will read this,but im thinking we are getting a release date soon,my buddy at THESOURCE here in Canada said they just listed gt5 online today and apparently they only put the listing up if its within a week of when they can start taking preorders:)might be BS but whatever

Any time you build up a car to be used in a Gran Turismo game, that is a tremendous accomplishment. You get your car basically immortalized in perhaps the best racing game franchise of the modern era. Just as long as your car isn’t a beat-up Ford Probe GT with the side mirrors duct taped up and a “Princess” bumper sticker with butterflies on the rear bumper, ANY car can be immortalized. :)
In all seriousness, good luck to whomever takes part in this year’s GT Awards.

Did someone just say DLC for GT5? Then I want updated NASCAR paint schemes. And if we get DLC, then they need to get us a full 16 cal field, instead of using repeat numbers in the field. If the full game comes out without a full 16 car field, I will be royally mad. If it comes out without 16 cars and no DLC in the future, I’ll be royally pissed! If for nothing else, NASCAR needs DLC for this game, cause everything changes in the next 5 years that we wait for GT6. Harvick has a new Bud scheme. But I guess we STILL cant see that one in a game huh? Damn Clinton. Tony Stewart is now Mobil 1. And it looks like the front splitter is gone after this year, with a more durable front end now seen on the Nationwide cars. Look at the diecast cars for next years cars as proof of this change. By the time we get the game, the cars will be obsolete again, even after they changed the wing to the spoiler in the game to prevent that happening. Thank NASCAR who cant seem to have two years of the same car and rules back to back for I dont know how long now.

Oh, and its sad that Im not eagerly awaiting Halloween. Not because Im a little kid about to score candy, its because Sony promised a new release date by then for us to get excited about, only to be disappointed again. Im not as depressed when I have a fake date to think about, but I hate LIMBO, not even knowing when its coming out.

GT2 is what got me into nascar. (Raceing modified ford taurus) GT3 had me researching the f1 cars from the 80′s and 90′s. GT HAS TO HAVE EVERY CAR! EVER! At least every car to win(any race) it is the only way for me to learn about them…then try to compare my skils to the heros who drove them. i think Kaz might understand what i mean, he keeps opening my eyes to new awesome cars and races…
