2017 Ferrari SF70H Coming to Assetto Corsa

Last year Kunos announced its initial plan for an all-new Ferrari car pack celebrating 70 years of the brand. Currently in development, the all-new car pack will include seven of the brand’s most iconic showpieces.

Last month six of the seven vehicles made way, albeit a little earlier than intended. Upon going live again just days later, players could vote for the final, seventh Ferrari included. It was a difficult decision given the available competition of Le Mans, Formula One and GT class machinery.

A quick refresher of the six confirmed Ferrari models are as follows:

  • 1962 250 GTO
  • 1967 330 P/4
  • 1967 312/67
  • 1984 288 GTO
  • 2004 F2004
  • 2017 812 Superfast

With the poll now closed, Kunos took to the official Assetto Corsa Facebook page to announce the winner. Ferrari’s 63rd single-seater in active Formula One competition, the SF70H took the cake with over 15% of the total votes. This year’s F1 contender, driven by the team of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen, has returned the team to its former glory.

This is something of an unprecedented moment. To our recollection there’s only one other racing title this year featuring the SF70H: F1 2017. Ferrari’s 63rd effort joins the 2013 F138 and 2015 SF15T in the brand’s existing Assetto Corsa F1 lineup.

It’s worth acknowledging that the closest competitors, Ferrari’s 512M and 488 GTE came in at 11.41% and 10.02%, respectively. Perhaps this could serve as incentive for another pack featuring the brand in the future. Let us remember, prior to the final results all of the cars featured on the poll were available for Kunos to reproduce for Assetto Corsa.

With everything now said and done for, Kunos promises to share future details. Over the coming days and weeks the team will share pictures and videos of the content on the 70th Anniversary page.

Scheduled for release this fall, the Ferrari 70th Anniversary Celebration Pack will be available on PC (Steam), PS4 and Xbox One.
