This week’s new Online Time Trial pairs the Honda Sports Vision Gran Turismo with WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, on Sports Soft tires.
Honda’s entry in the Vision Gran Turismo program first appeared back in GT Sport in 2017, where it drew immediate comparisons to a “baby NSX”.
By VGT standards its recipe is refreshingly conventional: a mid-mounted 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 404hp at 7,500rpm, an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and a curb weight of just 1,980lb thanks to a liberal application of virtual carbon fiber. The design itself was the product of an internal contest spanning Honda’s global studios, with a team from Los Angeles ultimately taking the win.
It’s not every week that a Vision GT car gets the Time Trial nod, and the light, high-revving Honda should make for a fun week of chasing tenths through the Corkscrew.
The previous event continues alongside it: the Hyundai Ioniq 6N at the Nurburgring 24h layout on Sports Medium tires, which arrived with last week’s all-new line-up. That one closes on Thursday, September 3.

Online Racing Event

Accessing Online Time Trials
If this is your first time trying one of these events, you’ll need to unlock Sport Mode first by clearing Menu Book 9 (“Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade”) in the GT Cafe; our full unlock guide is here. You won’t need a PlayStation Plus subscription to take part.
When an event ends, rewards are handed out according to how close you got to the top time on the board: gold within 3% (2,000,000cr), silver within 5% (1,000,000cr), and bronze within 10% (250,000cr).
A new event lands every Thursday, each running for two weeks, with the oldest dropping off the list as each new one arrives. The next new Online Time Trial arrives September 3.
