Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo: Confirmed for October 2026, More In-Game Footage

Polyphony Digital and Xiaomi, the first Chinese marque to have a vehicle appear in the Gran Turismo series, have revealed more footage of the upcoming Vision Gran Turismo car and confirmed it for the October part of the split Spec IV update.

It’s been a while since the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo car was announced, originally teased back at the London GT World Series event in mid-2025. Xiaomi itself revealed the car at a tech conference in February 2026, along with a full-sized model of it.

Since then it’s been a little quiet, but the Xiaomi VGT was revealed last month as one of the dozen cars coming to the Spec IV update — though not which of the two parts, coming in October and December respectively.

New in-game footage of the car was shown as a prelude to the Manufacturers Cup at the GT World Series live event in Singapore, revealing a longer version of the clip seen in the Spec IV teaser last month and giving a good look around the car in motion.

If you’re not familiar with the Xiaomi VGT, it’s unsurprisingly an electric vehicle. Although we’re yet to learn the exact configuration of the power train, we’d be surprised if it was notably different from the SU7 Ultra’s 1,525hp tri-motor arrangement.

The car is designed to do more with less, with a selection of aerodynamic tricks to help it down to a coefficient of drag of 0.29. That includes a teardrop-shaped cockpit that allows air around all sides, magnetically stabilized turbine wheels, and even an air curtain at the rear to move the separation point further behind the car.

Along with the video clip, showing off the car in detail as well as some footage of it in motion — curiously all at Special Stage Route X, a course where there is no need to brake at all and only flat-out banked corners — we have confirmation that it will be one of the cars coming in the “Part 1” update in October.

The car content teaser for Spec IV shown last month presented six of the 12 vehicles coming in the two updates and the Xiaomi was among them. It seems reasonable to infer that the six — BMW M5, Citroen 2CV, Honda Mugen Motul Civic, Honda Stepwgn, and Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo — will comprise the cars for the October half.

We’re expecting to hear more about Spec IV in the second part of this weekend’s streams, so we’ll be tuning in to the Nations Cup to see what else PD may reveal.
