Sugo Circuit made its public debut last weekend at the Gran Turismo World Series Round 3 in Singapore, a little over a week before it arrives in Gran Turismo 7 as the headline addition of the Spec IV Part 1 update on October 15. With the track playable at the venue over the weekend, a few more details have trickled out, including confirmation the circuit will support rainy weather conditions.
The confirmation comes from a screenshot of Sugo’s time and weather settings screen, which appeared in Traxion’s email newsletter. It was spotted by GTPlanet forum member bduddy, who posted it in our Spec IV thread.

GT7 launched in 2022 with wet-weather driving on a handful of circuits, but every track added to the game since then has been experiencing a drought. Sugo is the first post-launch circuit to break that pattern.
It’s a sensible choice of track to do it with, too. The real Sugo sits in the hills of Miyagi Prefecture, and it has a reputation among Japanese racing fans for its frequently changing weather conditions.
We also now have a complete onboard lap of the circuit to study.
The lap was recorded by Dave Gaming, one of the German-language commentators at the Singapore event, as he drives one of the Super Formula SF23 cars used in the Nations Cup Sprint Race.
Despite Dave’s questionable driving, the video gives a good sense of the layout. Sugo is short and fairly tight, with a mix of quick direction changes and notable elevation changes that should translate particularly well in VR. The SF23 makes the whole thing look compact, but it’s the kind of circuit that should offer a proper challenge across a wide range of cars.
Sugo arrives with the rest of the Spec IV Part 1 content on Thursday, October 15. If you spot anything else from the weekend’s footage, the Spec IV thread in our forums is the place to share it!
