The annual shopping extravaganza known as “Black Friday” — named for the phenomenon of a single-day’s rush which pushes many outlets’ books into the black (or further into) — is nearly upon us and once again gamers are being assaulted by myriad discounts across the board.
Although it stems from Thanksgiving here in the USA, it’s an event that’s spread across the globe and expanded from a single day to a weekend or more. That means you don’t need to be glued to your computer to find the best deals and can spread your spending rush out over a few days.
For many retailers the Black Friday discounts have already begun, and gamers will be able to pick up bargains right through to the end of “Cyber Monday”: Monday November 28.
PlayStation is no different, with deals across its regional stores, including PlayStation Direct (where available) and the PlayStation Gear store.
That means you can pick up DualSense controllers in a variety of colors for a 30% discount (except mainland Europe), along with the official charging stations and wireless headsets. If you want accessories — clothing, flasks and cups, and ornaments — a spend of $/€/£100 or more gives a 20% discount.
Of course there’s also a wide selection of discounted games too, with up to 90% off some sim-racing titles. Discounts vary by region, but there’s plenty of savings to be had.
