Brands Hatch Coming to Assetto Corsa

Kunos Simulazioni have revealed that the next major track addition to Assetto Corsa will be Brands Hatch, a venue called “the best circuit in the world” by former Formula One driver Gerhard Berger.

The Kunos team were on-site taking thousands of photos in preparation for bringing the circuit to life when introduced to the game some time in the future, and will become the second British track featured in the game alongside Silverstone. Like all licensed tracks currently featured in Assetto Corsa, Brands Hatch will be laser-scanned and will join the likes of iRacing and Project CARS that also feature a laser-scanned recreation of the track.

While Brands Hatch is being prepared, a team of beta testers are checking out a development build of Update 1.2 which will include the Bonus Pack DLC and is still expected to release later this month.

Brands Hatch and the upcoming Bonus Pack DLC will be included at launch when Assetto Corsa comes to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2016. Stay tuned to GTPlanet for more and be sure to stop by our Assetto Corsa sub-forum for more discussion and in-depth analysis.

Considering pretty much every newer real world track in GT is laserscanned, it wouldn’t make sense if it isn’t. Also the accuracy of the track in GT seems to confirm this.

Many accurate tracks have been made without laser scanning, it’s been done for years. There are mod tracks in pc games that are extremely accurate too, created by a single person from photos and Google Earth.

Cool. I like this track also.
With all these new racing games coming out, I’ll be a full time machinist and part time race car driver. My wife would love that! :)

Seems like every simracer will have brands hatch. GT, FM,PC and now AC. Can’t complain, love this track.

Which kind of highlights that eventually there will be little to separate the GT’s, FM’s, PC’s and AC’s to most people.

One only needs to spend a few laps driving with a wheel in AC to see what separates the games. AC may not have the best physics or visuals at this point, but IMO it’s hands down the winner in the area of FFB and translating what is happening with the car through the wheel.
