Fanatec Launches Gran Turismo 7 Time Trial With $600+ in Hardware Prizes

Fanatec and Polyphony Digital have teamed up on a new global time trial event in Gran Turismo 7, and the prizes are real hardware rather than in-game credits.

The “Fanatec Gran Turismo Eifel Cup 2026” opens on Monday, November 2 and runs for two weeks, with the fastest player in each of three regions taking home either a Gran Turismo DD Pro (8Nm) wheel or a set of Podium Pedals Sport.

You’ll be driving the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) ’22 around the Nürburgring GP circuit, which sits in the heart of Germany’s Eifel mountains (hence the name).

The GT3 R is still a relatively new addition to GT7, having arrived in Update 1.67 back in January. It joined Porsche’s mid-engined 911 RSR in Gr.3 and became the first rear-engined car in the category. Tires are fixed to Racing Hard, and car settings are specified, so this comes down to driving rather than tuning.

How to Enter

The event will live in the Online Time Trials menu inside the Sport pavilion on the GT7 World Map, alongside the regular two-week time trials. Ranking registration opens at 12:00 GMT on Monday, November 2 and closes at 11:59 GMT on Monday, November 16.

Anyone can set a time, but to be eligible for a prize you need to be 18 or older on November 2 and a resident of one of the eligible countries below. The three regions are:

  • Europe / Middle East / Africa: Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, India (excluding the State of Nagaland), Iceland, Israel, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Kuwait, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, UK
  • Americas: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, United States, Uruguay
  • Asia-Oceania: Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand

One unfortunate oddity worth noting is that, due to legal reasons, players from Japan can enter and appear in the rankings, but aren’t eligible to win. If a Japanese player tops the Asia-Oceania region, the prize goes to the next-fastest eligible player in that region instead.

The Prizes

The top-ranked player in each region gets to choose between the two prizes, subject to eligibility verification.

The Gran Turismo DD Pro is the officially licensed PlayStation direct-drive wheel most GT7 players will already know, here in its 8Nm configuration. Fanatec’s announcement describes it as a steering wheel, which suggests the full $849.95 bundle with the GT rim and pedals, though the exact configuration isn’t spelled out. The 8Nm wheel base alone sells for $599.95.

The Podium Pedals Sport is the two-pedal, no-clutch version of Fanatec’s new flagship pedal platform, and at $599.99 it only went on sale a couple of weeks ago.

Save 5% on Fanatec Gear

If you’d rather not leave it to chance, GTPlanet’s Fanatec discount code GTPLANET5 takes 5% off wheels, pedals, and Gran Turismo bundles at the Fanatec store, including both of the prizes on offer here. It doesn’t stack with items already on sale, and to be clear, GTPlanet earns a small commission on purchases made with the code.

Good luck to all GTPlanet members!
