Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races: Pour Some SUGO on Me

A new week brings a new set of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races, with three fresh events now live and running through next Monday, November 2.

Last week’s set skipped Sugo entirely, which was a little odd given the circuit had only just arrived in the Spec IV Part 1 update and was the one track most players wanted to be racing on.

Polyphony Digital clearly read the room, as Sugo now appears in two of this week’s three events. It’s an unusual amount of attention for a single circuit, and anyone who spent the past seven days learning it in Time Trial or Circuit Experience finally gets to put that work to use in a ranked setting.

Race A is the shorter of the two Sugo events, a five-lap one-make in the Nissan Fairlady Z (Z34) ’08 on Sports Hard tires. It’s a grid start with BOP (M) and settings fully fixed, so it comes down to the car as delivered and the driver behind the wheel.

Race C returns to Sugo for the week’s main event. It’s 14 laps in Gr.3 cars with fuel use doubled and tire wear at 4x, and both Racing Medium and Racing Soft compounds must be used during the race. There’s no formal mandatory pit stop listed, but the two-compound rule means everyone will be visiting the pit lane at some point regardless. BOP (M) applies, with a rolling start and brake balance the only open setting.

In between, Race B heads to California for seven laps of Willow Springs’ Big Willow layout in Gr.4 cars on Racing Hard tires. It’s a rolling start with BOP (M), brake balance adjustable, and no pit stop requirement.

Daily Races are the main ranked multiplayer events in Gran Turismo 7. Your Driver Rating (DR) and Sportsmanship Rating (SR) are updated after every race based on how you perform, and they determine your seeding for the game’s flagship esports series each season.

To get into Sport Mode in the first place, you’ll need to unlock it by clearing Menu Book 9 (“Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade”) in the GT Cafe, and a PlayStation Plus subscription is required to race online.

With GT7’s Daily Races rolling over every Monday, the next new set should land on Monday, November 2.
