I am completely and utterly in awe, did u see the number of cars in one race!!!!! It felt like an actual trackside jgtc Race. Now its time to save money for a PS3, I hope my DFP won't be outdated at its release.

O.M.F.G. Imagine what's to come. This is obviously a simple teaser and will not even compare to the finished product. As you can see, that video just looked like what GT4 should have been! Now imagine that many cars with even more polygons, textures, playing on a 1080p super HDTV at the trademark 60 frames a second with online capabilities! Not to mention car physics that might as well be the real thing.

I think it's time for the DFP's successor now, don't you think?

I wouldn't title this the next game either. Vision GT is just a showing of what to expect in GT5. As pointed out in the other thead, the uniforms still read "Gran Turismo 4."

The game looks great. I just hope PD makes this GT game fun to play. GT4 bores the piss out of me. I haven't played it in weeks.

Is that GT4 tweaked on a PS3 Dev kit? Definitely seems so to me! đź’ˇ

I guess its proven that the PS2 just isn't capable of doing what GT4 is truly capable of doing... 👎

the pit is just jawdropping
look at all those man walking around in there ... oh my god!

I didn't see anything outstanding about Polyphony's 'vision' for GT5. OK, those were some busy pre-rendered pits, the back of the GT-R was dirty and there were 16 cars racing on the tracks, but I would have anticipated a little more from PD to get the pulse racing. However, my breath was taken away when I saw the Killzone section. If the actual game is anything like the pre-rendered film then that will be some gaming experience for sure!

Thanks for the links!

What I like to see is an ineractive environement, you know the trees moving in the wind, clouds and planes in the air, animals like birds etc, different seasons with dynamic weather effects ...things like that would be more important to me than 16 cars... 10 would be fine for me if the features above would be in the game... well I think GT5 will be released maybe at christmas 2007, or even 2008 so ... let's hope the best.... :nervous:

Vision Gran Turismo is probably an working - or even final title of the GT game that will follow the launch of PS3. Guess form the info we have witnessed so far, that making a "Vision" was a main reason for delaying a GT4 release.

I'm pretty conviced that PD had their work on VGT for a long time now, making parallel development of both GT4 and VGT in lat years. The vast number of astonishing footages shown in LA only few hours ago shows us that Sony had a great secret work undergone with the console for a long time now.

VGT should be "just" GT4 on super-stereoids, but for me - it is more then enough for a start. I agree that next "full'n'big" GT game will come out no sooner then 2007.

Notice the VGT should be the title needed for establishing the GT Online Leagues for the first time, and that all the work has been done in that direction.

My dime goes to AI field in multiplayer (2P and LAN) races.

Well I kind of doupt that we will see this game any earlier than the end of 2006, more likely 2007... remember GT2000 demo (btw I have one of these rare demos here at home - original of course.... ) ... and honestly I hope it won't be released too soon, because the interactive environement and a solid crash model can't be realized within a year from now... no way, even if they've already started...

demos of Vision or what?

If this adresses to me, then NO... I'm tallking about the GT 2000 demo of the Playstation Festival 2000, this playable demo is quite unique, because it is a greatly polished GT2 with nice effects, GT3 was totally different concerning grafics and gameplay, ... You could drive a Evo 5 or 6 in Seatlle and there was a lot of tire smoke and the sun was so bright that you almost couldn't see anything at all as soon as it (the sun) hit you... it was really nice and since there are maybe only 1000 or 2000 copies of this demo worldwide, I'm really proud that I own one....

I'm very positive that we can expect GT game as a launch title because the online GT spin-off was mentioned lots of times after the realse of GT4 even by Kazunori himself.

Guess the Vision could be that spin-off, with some of features that GT4 lacked, and with online. Of course, it will not be "GT5" and guess the damage will wait until the GT5.

Polished GT4 in high-res, online leagues, 16 cars, better sound and some nice touches on enviroment should do until the GT5. I do not see the problem there. Everything else has been done long ago.

And just to mention, I also have GT2000 original disc, so maybe we could start a GT Owners Club here? :)

Yeah why not ? :)
I suggested that in another forum : What I would like to have, is GT1 and 2 with smooth 60 fps, and higher polygon count in maybe also high def, without changing the grafics ( of course no pixel grafics or aliasing problems) with the exact same gameplay, look of the cars and tracks, same music... that would be great... sounds strange first, but think about it... a travel back in time.... đź’ˇ

Well, a polished 16 car online GT 4,5 would be a perfect launch game indeed...

So what is this a confirmed PS3 thing? Or is this the fabled update to GT4?

Man that pit lane was cool with all the people walking around though.

Meh, well I couldn't see much due to tiny vid window but even so it just looked like they increased the number of cars and pit crew. I imagine the textures have also been cranked up too, whoopee. Can only imagine how annoying 15 other AI cars would be.

Killzone on PS3 looked nice though :)

THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! Even GT3 looked good enough. It's time to add more cars to the track and give us more game options. I'm sick of the improved detail that I never see when I'm inside the car moving 180mph. I want more cars, more tracks, more cars on the tracks, and I want to play against my friends or at a minimum have an online time database and car lot for trading cars.

BAM! Give me a full field of JGTC or give me death.

yeah but for the release they need to:

improve textures
imporve polycount
improve AI
improve rendering, the actual one is nice but note fine enough too much 3Dish (maybe because 256x256 textures)

the ign photomode render are unworthy of a PS3 calcpower
