Anyway, you sound like you getting the hang of it, the turn in the road is something you need to be sensble with, remember you don't have to go as close to the kerbs as you can, and in the test if you feel like you need to make it a 5 point turn, make it a 5 point turn. They won't fail you for that, but if you try to use oo much space and mount the kerb, they could.

Stalled it twice at the same junction as I was more concerned about what the driver behind was doing rather than what I was doing.

Absolutely keep a close eye on people behind you in your mirrors (it allows you to anticipate their irrationality), but otherwise 🤬 'em. Even if you're driving perfectly, there'll be some Captain Asshat who'll be convinced you're in the wrong and he's in the right.

Most of us remember doing what you're doing and we'll give you time and a wide berth. If you stall at the lights and it goes back to red keeping us all there, don't worry - we've ALL been there and done it and almost none of us - bar Captain Asshat who you can rightfully ignore, despite the fact he's leaning on his horn - are pissed off at you.

^That's spot on, I never get angry when a learner driver makes a mistake or stalls the car, it's frustrating at times, but like most other people, I don't get worked up over it. I just remember that I've been there and done that and wait for the learner to sort himself out agian.

Your right, I typed paralel into dictionary.com and it came up with a result. It normally asks if you've misspelt it if it's wrong so I just closed the tab when it came up with a result . I've just re-checked and the result it came up with had the extra l.

Sort of, my starts are getting more powerful () as I go on. Using the accelerator much more now.

I've concluded I just cannot get a fast start in my Probe. It must be a combination of alignment and low torque at low rpm. Once I get rolling, though... then I pass people on starts. But if I try and keep the pedal down during the first few seconds, my engine mounts shake like a bitch.

The Clio is pretty good at starts tbf. Also in my little time of driving I now can conclude that like the rest of the nation I hate van drivers. Yeh go on 10 feet from my bumper in a 40 limit you idiot.

They cannot speed up unless I speed up. If I slow down, they must slow down. Any collision is their fault for following too close (Driving Without Due Care) - and hey, a dog ran out right in front of you, requiring you to brake that hard, and it ran right off again...

Nope. In Melbourne you only need to do the Hazard perception test. Which can be done 30 days before the driving test. Then the driving test. Which is a piece of cake.

I did it at Dandenong and pretty much just had to park in an empty car park, and stop at a stop sign. The test didn't take any more then 15 minutes, and my instructor just chatted up the girl marking me the whole time. Hell, my car was even AWD, I couldn't possibly fail.

Yes and I was fine with it. I was very surprised to have gotten so low. I had 6 clips where I scored 1. I don't remember it tbh. I wish they'd do clip reviews on it.

I can drive on July 27th (I'm in the UK). There is an instructor down my road who will do 10 1-hourlessons for £180. I have previous driving experience though, and have been a member of the Under 17 Car Club since I was 12, though I didn't drive much in my first year, as my brother is 2 years older, and he needed to learn as well. And, to the envy of all British motorsport fans, one of the places used to drive is Castle Combe. Here is a link: www.under17-carclub.co.uk. I am driving a Diesel 1.3 SXI+ Corsa at the moment, though I started on a Petrol 1.2 SXI. On the back straight of Combe I have reached 55mp/h. Speed is fun!
