Listening to crew get giddy over Hamlin time:

They get giddy over everything.

TV coverage is horrible, first round just ended on TV but in reality we're in the middle of 2nd round right now. That's why they didn't have a clock.

They can still have a countdown timer on a delayed telecast, as well as a way to know who is on the bubble for Q2 as well as the race itself.

TV coverage is just awful. First 30 minute session takes nearly an hour on TV.

Meanwhile the full qualifying session has already concluded.

I'm beginning to think NBC pushed for this and not FOX. FOX is making it about as long as old qualifying.

Even Rick Allen doesn't like it.

Here's the problem. TV window for qualifying is 90 minutes. Qualifying takes 45 minutes. Too large of a gap between the two so TiVo

:ouch:
Stop cup guys from racing the nationwide races... Please...

Money moves the sport. The Cup guys bring sponsors. Sponsors bring money. That's all there is to it. Until the young drivers bring in sponsors for full year efforts, the Cup guys will be there.

You can double post if it is important information.

Fair enough... But it's awfully boring and unfair..

That race was pretty horrible.
NASCAR needs to limit these Cup drivers. The reason why sponsors won't be with Nationwide drivers is because they rarely win because of the Cup drivers stealing wins

Newman is not really a dark horse, since he has won there before (Spring 2010), and is driving for the same owner (Childress) that won there last fall (with Harvick).

Kyle Larson would be a dark horse. Montoya usually had pretty good cars at flat tracks (Phoenix, Richmond, New Hampshire, Indy, Pocono), so don't be surprised if Larson runs well there today. He certainly ran some good laps in happy hour practice.

Hope he beats Dillon. :)

And many of Newman's recent wins came at flat tracks.

2013: Indianapolis.
2012: Martinsville.
2011: New Hampshire.
2010: Phoenix.
