There is a big driver announcement tonight at 8. I reckon it's Plato joining BMR (who will be testing tomorrow with all 4 drivers, 2 of whom are unannounced). Imagine Turkington, Smith and Plato in one team :O

E- I didn't realise that I posted almost exactly the same thing as @Holdenhsvgtsr last page, I'll go back to my corner until the season starts :lol:

Well, it's great for the sport... and I wish both Turk and Jason all the best in coming 2nd and 3rd in the championship ;) :D

He might be annoying, but he's an exciting racer to watch. Plus, on the off-chance that Priaulx, Tordoff and Collard aren't as quick as Turk was last year, we might not have to listen to him complain about driven wheels as much.
 
Glad Turkington is able to defend his title but still upset he's not in a BMW again.
 
It's going be be great to see Turkington/Plato battle on even terms
 
What's the Dan Welch squad doing? Surely not the Proton still? :lol:

He'll find some else to moan about, even if he's winning.

Can't help but feel as though Warren should have given up the ghost and kept Menu. Then he could run a team with 3 championship winning names under its belt...

Also, what's Goff's plans for this season?

Priaulx is the only question mark in that team, if he brings his mid 2000s WTCC game they can battle for title, but if he drives like he has in the last few years that team won't be battling for anything other then the odd win.

Very happy Turkington and plato are still in the series as that would leave a real dark mark on the series.

No doubt that car will be good when you got two of the best drivers in the series in the same team. My bet is that Jordan will win the title though.

Collard will be Collard, he'll end up about 7th in the championship. Tordoff is a question mark because it'll be a different car to what he's used to (even though it's RWD you have to wonder if his PSC experience will help), and I'm not sure we got to see his best while Plato was No. 1 at the team..

Priaulx... well... he has skill, and he can hustle a touring car around with great speed, I don't think DTM or GT particularly suited him though - my main concern is he's not used to the rough and tumble of the BTCC, can he still maintain his speed whilst he's elbow to elbow with veteran door bangers?... because even when he got his 3 world touring car titles, he wasn't having to fight as hard as the front runners in the BTCC do - mostly because of the other 5 BMW drivers he didn't have to race too hard against in the WTCC. Of the entire BTCC grid he's got experience far and above many of the other guys (prior BTCC, British F3, Formula 1 test(s), ETCC, WTCC, ALMS, ELMS/LMES/ILMC, TUSCC, The 24's at Le mans, Daytona and the 'Ring, and DTM, along with Race of Champions appearances, and some guest drives in Aussie V8's .....) If the car is good, and he just goes for it.. he should be awesome, but I fear he may over think it, try and play the clever game... and just get pushed around my the old heads of the BTCC, and the balls out young 'uns with not much to loose.

edit: Turk could be Priaulx's greatest nemesis.. Similar driving styles, Turk knows what the NGTC 125i can do, Priaulx.. not so much (know thine enemy and all that..), and I'd have to put them at similar talent levels, they've both done the business in 320's before... will Andy adapt to the BTCC, and will Colin adapt to FWD (and Patio as a team mate)?

edit II: had to add some more credentials to Priaulx's experience.
