Yeah I guess we will see then, it also looks like the Mercedes might be faster this season Moffat and Morgan were both fast in Testing and with the car in it's second year might have all the bugs sorted.
 
So I can tell everyone what we're up to now.

We have one of these for the week:

And we (by which I mean me and @GTP_Ingram) are going to drive it to Brands Hatch over the course of Saturday for the opening round on Sunday.

Doesn't sound like much right? Well, how about we use Knockhill as our starting point?

Hmm. Tough crowd. Okay, let's say we start at Knockhill and end at Brands Hatch, but visit every other track on the 2015 calendar on the way? That's Croft, Donington Park, Oulton Park, Rockingham, Silverstone, Snetterton and Thruxton - taking photos of the car outside each as we cross them off.

Getting interested now? Well how about we step it up a bit and do it entirely in daylight, between 6.39am when the sun rises in Kinross and 7.38pm west of Brands? Yep, just 12hr59 later.

We're literally getting to Knockhill before any kind of sane time and leaving a pair of 11s as the sun noses above the horizon. Or, more likely, when the clock reads "6.39am".
 
Last time I went to either Knockhill or Croft, the Average speed zones went on for hours.. I just wanted to tell you both, good luck.

I live about 25 minutes from Croft :D

We have an extremely carefully-planned route. The only significant stretch of SPECS we'll encounter will be the A14 from Peterborough to Cambridge - though we'll cover that twice, because Snetterton. The worst bit of DC we're likely to encounter will be the A1(M) past Doncaster, which is a bit of road that utterly queefs at any time of day - and I'll be in the driving seat for that...

We'll be using the newest stretches of A1 and we only hop on the M1 twice - once between East Midlands Airport and Leicester (no SPECS, no 50mph limit) and once briefly northbound up to Northampton (no SPECS, no 50mph limit).

I think that 12:59 is extremely unlikely - we'll be about half an hour out - but it is legally and technically possible. Still, we like a challenge.

I'll be at brands for the weekend, probably tomorrow night, definately Saturday night, so if you see a dark blue E46 tourer with its bonnet up, say hello, and bring jump leads. :lol:

This weekend marks the start of my epic year. All ten BTCC rounds, four 24 hour races, one 6 hour race, and one round of the DTM.

Hmm. That didn't occur to me actually. We're likely to be up at the TravelInnPremierLodgeWhatever at about half nine tomorrow and leaving before 6am on Saturday - @GTP_Ingram is taking the first leg - so we've got a little free time.

Having consulted the carefully crafted route a bit more closely in Googlemaps, that's actually what we're doing, yes.

Having my 2 favourite drivers at BMR is great, but has it's downside. I'll eventually need to take a side, which is obviously Plato's, i'm starting to already :p

And just to wind me up the girlfriend is siding with Colin. Typical eh :lol:

Neither of us smoke, but replace the e-cigs for Smarties and you're pretty much bang on.

I'm hoping that the conclusion of our journey is slightly more sedate than Kowalski's. Though if we're cutting the deadline fine, you never know...

If anybody can calculate the physics needed to get through that gap perfectly, it's Famine.

After all, Kowalski's body was never found ...
 
My journey was nowhere near as interesting as the Infiniti pilots will have, but I'm at Brands now, pitched up.... I 🤬 love touring cars.
 
Dan Welch out for this weekend by the way, broke his foot whilst loading the truck.
