On the grapevine, hearing that Plato has no sponsorship as of now and may not return..

Will feel more comfortable filling up with Momentum99 now 👍

Interesting. He's been on pace and in the championship fight the past few years but maybe just a bit too errrr... "controversial" for sponsors?

I'm not completely sure, but I'd say sponsors are looking for someone a bit younger. Tesco have backed him for years.

Also, anyone heard anything at all about 888's plans?

I saw the slot on Sky News this morning and noticed the covered car... figured it must've been a BTCC entry.

Any ideas?

Robb Holland's Audi A3?

Does look like an Audi, but the LED lights (I presume) look like a HSV's

The shape of the lights looks distinctively C4 Cactus...

If thats a C4 Cactus that will be my Favourite car next season for sure!

Going by what im seeing though it can't be one, C4 Cactus uses Dotted LEDs and the grill would be lower with Visable Citroen Chevrons.

What about the Infiniti Q40, it's set to be released next year and this could be the reveal in race form.

Not saying it is one, it just looks... like them:

I'd go with one of BMR's VW Passsats.

But...seeing as it clearly doesn't have a rear wing, I'd assume that is just any old car under there.
Most likely car is the Toyota Avensis as it seems to be the cheapest car for smaller teams.

Insignias?

PLEASE be a 3series! I'm a Honda fan, but I followed these bad boys back then.

I bet it's nothing, they haven't confirmed a chassis yet so I'd say it was probably just any car.

Is it just me or is anyone else suspicious of the Infiniti 'manufacturer' entry? I think they're only there for the charity association rather than on-track spoils, especially looking at the driver line-up. It's good to have more manufacturers in the series but I'm worried the car will be under-developed and funds will be tight, when a team more dedicated could have the entry.

Jeff Smith doing another year with Eurotech, no word yet on what he and Jordan will be driving though

And Andy Wilmot has joined Welch, soldiering on with the Proton

With what car considering he sold his to depper who owns it outright.

Remains to be seen, Jordan was saying towards the end of the season that he wanted to be in the Type-R that the Honda guys are getting. Haven't seen anything for a while though so who knows!

Proton's continued presence on the BTCC grid has me perplexed. I'm 90% sure the average Proton owner would either have a heart attack or ring the cops complaining of anti-social behaviour if they heard a BTCC car.

They haven't even updated their "upcoming range" since 2012. I'm fairly sure the brand is dead.

I'd imagine that Proton's involvement in the BTCC extends no further than supplying Welch Motorsport with a few free shells to cannibalise into NGTC cars. If even that.

Kind of understandable if they think they've achieved everything they can with the team, but still a huge surprise.

That could explain why Colin Turkington has been linked with Munnich Motorsport to drive in WTCC. Kind of like when RAC pulled out after 2009.
That was because he said he wanted to be paid for the drive rather than pay for it and was told where to go.

Going to be weird not seeing the colours of WSR eBay. I think Foster will be leaving.

Plato, well he likes to play games doesn't he. I'll support him wherever he goes (my hero lol) but I think he'll end up with an FF car, and will spend the season complaining.

Again, Honda sticking with neal and shedden, but from the idea of things, they'll be using the new Civic, not the tourer.

Sam Tordoff, although he's not someone that sets races alight, i'm going to risk being a fool (as per usual). I think he'll end up in BTCC somewhere unexpected. I think WSR will approach him, or maybe he'll have Depper's seat.

Has everyone seen Cleland's Vauxhall for sale on eBay?

Any idea of what will be happening with Mat Jackson? Can't see anywhere worth going for him after the Motorbase team going.

Anyway, I can't wait for the new season. Bring it on!!
