***The Lamborghini SC63 has taken its first Evo joker update ahead of this weekend’s race, with the Ligier-chassied LMDh car debuting an all-new rear suspension, confirmed by a Lamborghini spokesperson. Sportscar365 understands that Riley-run factory team tested the car at both Indianapolis and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta prior to this weekend in the updated configuration.

***This weekend’s race is the second-to-last scheduled outing for the SC63, with the Italian manufacturer having previously announced that it will “pause” the program next year. Further clarity on the future of the car is expected to come during a media roundtable meeting with key executives on Saturday.

A hail mary attempt to save this program? Why bother if its not, just sell them off to some collector and go back to GT3 sales.

The #60 MSR Acura failed post-Quali tech, bringing it to the rear and promoting the #31 Whelen Cadillac to pole.

With this, Cadillac starts tomorrows race occupying the Top-3 spots.

As an aside I never noticed how small these Hypercars / LMPs actually are. The Mustang makes them look tiny!

I've been near (like, inches near in the paddocks) the GTPs at CTMP 2 years ago and I can tell you they're not small at all, the Mustang is just humongous. They're about the same length as a 5-Series, but wider and obviously lower.

Alright I wouldn‘t have expected that. Tbf I have never seen modern prototype race cars in person.

The older DPi cars were actually smaller than the current crop of LMDh and LMH cars. Though even still I felt the LMDh cars were still pretty small in person, but then when everything on the road is a mid-sized SUV or full sized truck, everything is pretty small 🤣
And next year hopefully I can go to the IMSA race at Indy, since it isn't super far away. Still need to prep all my camping gear for Petit though lol
