There's already been a few confirmations made ahead of the 2027 season. Firstly, Cadillac confirmed their team and driver line-ups for 2027 earlier today. We'll once again see the #31 Whelen Cadillac, alongside the 2 WTR cars this upcoming season.

This comes alongside news that Ricky Taylor & Antonio Felix de Costa will be racing full-time with JOTA in the 2027 WEC season, helped by there being no major clashes between WEC and IMSA next season.

13 Autosport also confirmed their 2027 IMSA plans, along with confirmation of entering the 2027 24 Hours of Le Mans, and their entry into the 2027 12 Hours of Bathurst. Pratt Miller Motorsports, Winward Racing, Ford/Multimatic and YRB Racing have also already confirmed their respective entries.

Finally, Penske has apparently been looking into returning to the FIA WEC, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a privateer Cadillac entry.

What's interesting about this to me is that, if this program were to come to fruition, it's extremely unlikely that it'll happen before the 2028 season, but Penske's current contract with Porsche in IMSA is also set to expire at the end of the 2027 season. This could potentially be an open look into where Penske may end up going in the event that they're unable to continue with Porsche in the future.

Edit: I just realized that this is also my 4500th post on GTPlanet...woot, I think?

An interview with Nicki Raeder, talking about the challenges Manthey Racing faced during their first season of IMSA competition.

In particular, Raeder mentions how racing in IMSA forced the team to stay on their toes for the entire race distance, with little-to-no room for "breaks" during the longer endurance rounds, as well as the surprisingly warm reception the team got from US fans from the onset.

Regarding the 2027 season, there is a desire for Manthey to keep racing in IMSA, though it would likely be another MEC campaign per the article, as a full-season and/or 2-car GTD Pro entry isn't in the works currently.
