A PSN ID doesn't prove anything, so other than potentially bothering him in two mediums other than one, I'm not sure why he would (or even should) provide it.

i don't know what the big deal is really. I am not asking for social security number or national insurance number. It's a friggin PSN ID.

I never stated my opinion was fact, or that anyone who disagrees with me, wrong and that they can't like GT5. If you like GT5, fantastic! I'm happy for you.

Oh no, I haven't made my PSN identity public so I'm not able to claim I even played GT5.
Forgive me my ignorance but I believe boasting about how much you've achieved playing a videogame isn't exactly the coolest thing in the world, not even on a forum dedicated to it so I don't question anyone who does, even when it's not true I hardly care as spending a lot of time playing GT5 (guilty) isn't something I particularly consider to be one of my all time greatest personal achievements....

A guy signs up to Gt planet. On his very first post calls the game irrelevant amongst other things and mentions how much he played it and this and that.

How come I can't continue to play the game, even after I think Forza 4 will likely be better? The group of friends I play with, they still want to stick with GT5, we've had this discussion, and they are encouraging me to play with them, once a week.

Relevance doesn't mean the game is worthless, or not worth playing anymore. I never said anything close to that. I wouldn't consider Grand Prix Legends, to be a relevant game, by todays standards, because of its age, but i'm part of a small following that still plays that sim.

Not a lot of reason to, when Forza 4, appears be superior in every way to GT5. Much like how Forza 3 was. However, depending on how the DLC and Spec 2.0 update goes, i'll at least buy the DLC and check out the updates for GT5. But I just don't see this game being relevant anymore, even with that new content.

In anycase, we all knew what was valid and what was not in that little exchange. So all threats and smokescreen aside, the moral of the story is quite simple. Bluffing never works 100% of the time.

Maybe you should have asked for clarification from the start? Although I don't know how I could have been anymore clear. If the roles were reversed, I would have saw that you were just stating your opinion. Would have been "okay cool man, I respect that, I don't agree, but I can see why some people might think what you do!" Short of just a crazy amount of hyperbole, it's pretty obvious when someone is stating an opinion, unless they say otherwise.
