I've never had a RROD and £30 a year for a reliable online service is worth it. But I'm not going to discuss this.

Relax man im not looking for a war. Theres definatly more pros than cons to xbox live than the network. Its kinda like porn though why pay for it when its free. To each his own I suppose. I've just heard horror story's from friends about the red ring. My one buddy is on his fifth xbox. Granted it prob dosent help that he is streaming with it

No it shouldn't, I don't know why some people here are so closed minded.

I was halfway joking, but then again don't be surprised to meet closed minded people on this forum because after all this is GTPlanet. Not PS3 Planet. ;)

I'm not even talking about playing other racing games, just other games in general. But it seems a lot of people do limit themselves to GT in terms of racing games which is bizarre. If you like racing/driving why wouldn't you at least try out other games in the genre? Sure you might not be able to afford another console but there are plenty of PS3 racing games a fan of GT should be looking at.
I play other games as well. But I can defiently relate to people who buy a console to play only one or two games. I speak for myself here but now that I'm older, I don't really have the motavation/time to become attached to tons of games. Back when I had all the time in the world I would hoard nintendo games whether they were good or not, I just loved playing video games. However nowadays I'm looking to buy games with longevity, so I don't have tons of games I played through once and never touched again. (Besides my sports games :indiff:, nothing I can do about that) GT delievers exactly what I want. I'll leave it at that. Am I missing out? Yes I agree, I will admit the Shift and F1 look pretty awesome. But honestly I'm happy enough with GT5 for my racing needs. There will most likely be a new Shift and F1 game before we even hear about GT6. (that statement is my opinion)
Maybe sad is the wrong word but there is definitely something odd about buying a games console and only playing one game on it in my opinion.

Thats all I was saying, and now that you put it like that I respect your opinion. Post #40 has to irk you though.

Sure you can't fit any more outdated clichés into your fanboy drivel?

"Fanboy" is frowned upon on this site because it's considered an insult. If you can't be a Gran Turismo fanboy on this website, where do you go then? I'm sure everyone here can see some truth into your opinion. But calling people GT fanboys on a GT dedicated website doesn't make you look good now does it?

Absolutely not, xbox blows always and forever. Have fun with that red ring boys oh yeah and paying for online play

Paying for xbox live is well worth the money. Much smoother connection and matchmaking for all games. Oh and did xbl get hacked and have all your personal info stolen? No it did not . Forza 3 had 3 times the amount of events that gt5 had so if you somehow don't have online you can play it for more than a month and still find enjoyment while not having to grind to get a 20 million credit car that you will use once.

My info is fine. Who knows xbl could have been hacked already and no one even knows about it. Im not ashamed to say i have no idea what fanboy means

Let's keep this on topic please gents and not go off on a tangent about GT Vs Forza or PS Vs Xbox. You all know how this works.

GT5 has its probs, and I am a big critic in many ways. The GT series at least for me has always been a game where you have to find your own fun. A-spec has never really cut it, so for GT4 and prior, Time Trial racing my ghost kept me entertained.

In GT5, public online is rubbish, due to many racers being rammers not racers. So again I have had to find my own fun and I have. To really enjoy GT5 at least for me is to have a tight group of clean racers and race in private lobbies. I have a bout 60 guys in a clan and we all race together daily and do all kinds of championships and events, its made GT5 almost the game I always wanted it to be. All it needs now for me is a better replay function, more online lobby options and some new cars and track would also be nice in either patches or DLC.

For those of you that love online racing, go find a private group and race in events, makes GT5 great again. :-)

With Forza 4 on the Horizon, may spell good news for us GT5 players, as PD may be forced to release feature rich patches and DLC to limit the many deserters that will likely flock to forza 4. At least it will if PD have any sense they will do it.

I will drop GT5 like the plague, and donate my PS3 to a homeless shelter, as soon as GT6 for PS4 is out.

I will play Forza 4, as I never played any game for XBox in my life before, well except for the first Halo some 14 years ago, but that gamepad confused me. I ran back to my Keyboard where things made sense to me, and feel safe.

If I don't start seeing some serious updates and DLC come out for Gran Turismo 5, then I may be dropping the Playstation 3 altogether. The only reason why I have/play it is for Gran Turismo 5 anyway.

Nope i think im good for the day, purely my opinion my man. They are cliches but its the truth.

Do not worry, I know what you mean and I know you are right. But there is no need to discuss this anymore. Taste are different... and some people just have a bad taste...

Why not play both?

Is it really worth buying an xbox just for the game?? It will be like $500(AUD)

Ps4 rumored for 2014,u have a ways too go.
Thats a shame, because every playstation has come out every 6 years and the ps3 came out in 2006.

A matter of personal choice I'd say. Some said it was crazy when GT fans were saying they bought their PS3s just for GT5 a few years back.
Me personally, no, not worth it just for one game. I've always owned multiple consoles at a time though, and when I bought the 360, there were three games on Xbox that I was interested in, for every one on PS3. Now they are about even as far as my library goes.
Nothing yet has gotten me to buy a Wii though. lol.

It's obviously not a shame, as sony has different priorities, sure you got the other systems earlier, but what were they missing at launch?

-Wireless connectivity built-in($100 extra for the xbox)
-HD disc format reader($90 extra for xbox)(we all know what blu-ray has done)
-Wii NOT in HD.

You see it all balances out. So no shame.

I know people we bought an xbox just to play GTA.

If Forza 4 puts all the content and features GT5 fans are clamoring for in GT5 I think PD will lose a lot of customers.

And how's that please tell me?
A lot of people will buy a 360 just because of FMS4, is that what you're saying? :dunce:

How about no.

I don't have an Xbox, I have a G27 and a Playseat.

I would have to buy an Xbox, I would have to uninstall my G27 and buy another wheel and install it on the Playseat.

I think it will take some really good reviews to get me to spend that money and effort.

+1. REALLY good reviews, as in, there is no comparison.

Don't forget that GT5 was amazing in pre-release trailers and such but the released product proved to be a dissapointment to many people (not because GT5 was bad but because the expectations were set too high for which I blame PD).
Don't get all up for FMS4, wait untill it gets released.

Many games have tried to lure me out of GT5. Other games are just short lasting experiences compared to GT5 which is more than just a game that I have to beat.

"GT5 - the real hot lapping simulator"... Nothing more to do in this game... sad sad...
I´ve had not even 1 challenging race with the AI in this game :(

So, yeah, can´t wait for FM4 but I´ll come back to GT5 for hot lapping on the Nordschleife...

I'm still very much enjoying this game. No plans on dropping it any time soon.

I'll probably take a break from it when Uncharted 3 and RE: Operation Raccoon City are released though.

I'm calling it now, Forza is actually going to get a worse score than GT5. I'm already hearing about Lag with the Kinect controls and Words like "Useless" being used to describe features in the game is not a good thing. So I say it's going to get equal or lower scores.

sure buddy. why don't you come see if you can "hot lap" me at Nordschleife or anywhere else for that matter... since your busy "beating up" the AI.. 👎

GT >>>> Flopza Forza is a joke for people who like to give their money away to play online.
