Why am I seeing so many mods with tire temperatures like this after four or five hard laps, while I can drive a similar Kunos car on the same track, and the temperature is more even?

lack of understanding of the tyre.ini / just tossing a tire from another car onto the mod without actually testing and developing it for the new car.

whats wrong with it? i swear its just had a host of updates by some very experienced guys?

by chance does anyone know if you can turn off seasonal adjustments or set the date and time in the ext_config?
 
I've been working on an ext_config for the Silk Meadow Track by Giles75 (paid mod) which is a pretty cool track. It looked like this when I started

I have created shader adjustments on the grass, grass rows, track surfaces, trees and skybox. Added GrassFX. Removed the static blimp and included a config without the skybox. This is because the skybox has weird issues such as a join mark visible on the first corner. Ive darkened it to try and hide this a bit and also hide the overall low quality and visible edges. There are some small existing shadow issues around the track which are beyond my current limited skillset.

rename .txt to .ini and place within an extension folder in the track folder
Thanks for this. Apart from improving this track, it's also been a great tutorial on how to manipulate the skybox on another track, that I'm using as a learning project. 👍

I followed the TCR discussion few weeks ago and want to say something about Tommy`s WTCR 2018 Mod

Overall great work, unfortunately with 2 little and 1 big gamebreakers. The AI is choosing always rain tyres in qualifing which is "unlucky". Second thing is all the cars are running with the same Audi? sounds. But the biggest issue for a singleplayer is - the AI is very slow and not competeticve even at100%. And i am just a medium fast driver.
I did not test the 2019 version yet, so i am curious if the problems are gone there. But for now i would always prefer Maki&Delpinsky`s WTCR mod.
Just wanted to get away my 5cent to this topic.

nope, you cant. even worst is that AI will pit when fuel is low and then never leave the box again and you will get RTD.
was just wondering if somebody can write any code, 'trainer-like' thing. cheat... to make it operational.
the stupid thing of this problem is that with a wheel (i have a G27) when i disable the AI, the wheel not work at all anymore and you have to close the session and restart again. If i play, as test, AC with a controller, i can enable and disable AI as many time as i want and the controller works fine any time....

Indeed i was smoking some maybe 20 years ago. ;)

Of course the 2018 Mod has rain tyres. Maybe i install it again just to make a pic for you. I had even discussed with Tommy about this "problem".
He said he implemented the tyres already in preperation for future possible CSP rain physics.

Anyway why that agressive? :confused: You must not think i am new here, so i have no clou...

He is the defender of Tommy78 on here, been doing it for months.
I'd like to think he knows him, or is him.
But i fear he's not and has decided that he wants to take on this role by choice.

You need to enable extended physics to get rain tyres with 2018 mod, with 2019 mod this is not necessary.

But is there any point in using wet tyres without extended physics?

@saXXXon asked me to have a look:

AI reworked, Rain FX, Grass FX tweaks, VAO, plus more for Knockhill 2017:

-Reworked the AI side lines. Pit lane and AI hints added to reverse. Original lines seemed pretty good, so I left them intact. I know it's been done before, but I was too lazy to check if done well.

-VAO patch files added. Patch file on Github was not working for me. If you don't need them, simply delete (BTW, strangely, I was not able to create one vao file that worked for both layouts for some reason).

-Rain FX with streams

-Aerial objects added, originally created by Mascot. No flames, sorry.

-Background images

-config file tweaked to add grass to dirt patches and outer terrain, and to get rid of old 2d grass (removal didn't seem to be working with grass fx). Make sure to use included knockhill2017__extras.kn5, as it seems latest one distributed by github as of 11/5/21 is not working correctly.

Hope some of you like it, it was a little strange trying to get things to work on this one.
The squashed logo on the Dunlop balloon at Knockhill was giving me kittens (I know you weren't responsible Kev) so here's a direct replacement if anyone wants it.

This Kwik-Fit balloon might be more appropriate than the Rockstar one on this track too.

I would have thunk that no mod has nor should have wet tyres as CSP autogenerates them.

Let´s not make it bigger than it is. I just felt a bit unnesessary attacked and reacted maybe harsh.

Never said Tommys Mod is bad. And if the 2019 version has a faster AI, i will buy it again.
So i am cool, not mentioned to come here to provoke someone... 🤝

Grass is too long and fluffy.
Use this. For best results do two rounds and stay off the curbs (and tarmac).

Sorry, just couldn't resist. :D

(Jokes aside though, it would be cool if it actually cut the grass. Physics update?)

I wonder if there are any .ini file or CM settings tricks or something for tracks, to extend the dynamic projected shadows on the cars and possibly also the track objects cut-off distance?
They only seem to show when the car is real close to the replay camera and then disappear abruptly.
