hi, for the Mercedes-Benz SL500 AMG , v1.1 by Unknown (found here )

has anyone been able to remove the disturbing mirror effect on the 2 little digital instrument pannels (showing the reflection of your gloves all the time)?

Would love the altered extension file ... to learn how this is done
I tried to solve it myself but failed :(

A very enjoyable cabrio for the rest! (well the car audio depiction is disturbing too ... but not as much ;)

Oh! Nice: a duck!:lol::lol::lol:
Less duck like now.

And more progress on these, I think the PC one will be scraped though.

I'm torn between the RT Oulton Park and the iRacing rip Oulton Park from years ago.

I'm mainly interested in the International no Chicanes layout, and while the iRacing version's mesh is so bad and bumpy out of Deer Leap that it peaks the revs like crazy, the RT version is practically undrivable in the braking zone into the original Knickerbrook corner due to two massive bumps in the mesh.

So far, I'm sticking to the iRacing version: peak revs are easier to tolerate than the rallycross in a proper corner. (Also the iRacing version's kerbs are more forgiving if I do go into the chicanes.)

Practically undrivable ... 🤔 A bit exaggerated isn't it ?
First of all, it's laserscanned. That part of the track hasn't been in use since early 1970's, so it 's normal that the road surface isn't optimal.
The bumps are there, you know they are so why not adapt your driving style ?
I for one have no difficulties in any car there.
It has been discussed before here. Maybe it would be useful to make a seperate historic Oulton Park with matching surroundings, but this layout has been added because it was shown in the official Oulton Park site (which was most probably a mistake, since the layout is not used anymore).
Take it as a bonus to the other modern layouts.
Oh, and there’s no reason to be torn, both versions are free, use them at will.

i have no idea because i trash almost the 99,9% of encrypted mods, btw maybe there's different levels of encryption, don't know tbh
There are 3 (4?) different kinds

  • visual only encrypted (like RSS or VRC mods)
  • visual and physics (encryption is tied to data.acd)
  • .ini encrypted (ier p13c, bk audi gt3) where you can't even view the contents of the ini files

and the worst one by far which is the "can't even open cm showroom" encryption which is on some cars (like some lu thua kien mods)

Depends. On what one considers 'undriveable.' I'm probably interpreting it in a stricter way.

Thanks for the heads-up (that is was discussed and decided before to stick with what's in there currently).

EDIT: Just thinking about it some more - Maybe Kunos' scanning of that section was not compatible with the layout in the first place. In ACC (and IRL) there are 2-3 rows of polystyren blocks in that braking zone, and I doubt Kunos asked them to be moved when doing the scan. (Why would they, they only needed the modern International layout.) Maybe the laser bounced off a few centimeters of dust and debris that accumulated where those blocks connect with the ground a bit, and maybe the extrapolation underneath those blocks (they're movable in ACC after all) created these 2-3 larger wedged lines of bumps perpendicular to the direction of our cars' travel. Think removing a plant from your terrace's floor and seeing its shape remaining there, encompassed by all the dirt the wind has blown there during the summer.

Sorry if this aspect was also considered earlier, just my two pence.

Hi all! While we are working on another scratch made car we had a small break for this conversion :)

v1.0

Subaru Forester SF gentlemanly modified and lightweight, almost ultimate track tool with DCCD wide range setup, so it can be easily tuned for different track and driving style to have maximum of fun!

The original model did not have interior so i swapped it from one of coolest car ever. It since it's track day car, its fine and fun.

Few versions:

  • * two are ultimately tuned (with different rims): ~450 hp, suspension, weight reduction.
  • * one with stock engine. So the have having only suspension tune and weight reduction - very good for beginners and just soft riding.
Feel free to update 3d model, if you wish so

I had trouble opening the link in MS Edge, but it seems to work in Chrome 🤷‍♂️.

Use notepad or any text editor to edit power.lut.
Use https://acstuff.ru/u/torque-helper/ to build it from the data you possess.

Top speed doesn't really have to do with power.lut.
Top speed depend mainly of drivetrain.ini (gears ratio) and engine.ini (rev_limiter).
Higher rev_limiter = higher top speed.
Lower final_gear_ratio = higher top speed.

power.lut define how much enery (or strength) the car have at a given RPM. You need strength to move the car. But the speed depend of "how" (drivetrain) this strength is given to the wheels. You can move the wheels easily if you have enough strength ; or painfully, if you have not.

EDIT:
You may take a look at this: https://motofomo.com/power-and-torque-math/
Thank you, friend. Now I'll try it.

Hi,
I am very much asking for your help. I have a problem with a GT3 race. I tried on different tracks and I always have the same result. AC crashes. Practice and qualifying work fine, and when setting up in the race something breaks. Any track the same effect. When I change the grid to ex. TCR, everything works fine. I tried installing the cars again, changing the CSP version to an older one (now I have 0.1.8) and restoring copies of the entire AC and AC folder in the documents from another computer, where everything work. I attach the logs.

Someone can correct me if i'm wrong, but I think you can still unpack the data file using CM even if it's encrypted. Then you can modify the files you want. You just won't be able to re-pack the data file. So you will have to rename the data.acd file to something like data_backup.acd. Then the game will read the files in the data folder instead of the data file and your changes should take effect.
Unfortunatly like @CrisT86 said, i was talking about the upper levels of encryption, where the unpacking of the data files is crypted so you cannot modify it really. I was thinking maybe if you could add via ext_config a code like "apply to ai.ini =something-something" but I don't think it's possible (ext_config is suppose to be for everything non-data related, right ?)

That's what i suppose but i was not sure about, and that's why i supported VRC and RSS purchasing their mods and avoid all the others (even free ones) most of the time :D

Hi Experienced modders, got another que here. I am trying to work on a converted car model and trying to mirror an object in 3ds max, but the object lost its normals and smoothness after mirroring it either by the simple mirror as a copy function, or iwth either mirror or symmetry modifier. What is the proper way to smooth objects for AC mods? Thanks

Firstly, I'm no expert. Everything i know about 3DS was learned mostly by trial and a lot of error. What you're describing can happen when normals of adjoining faces get split. (I don't honestly know why this happens.) You can try an edit normals modifier, select all and then use average selected. (First be sure to tick the box to use a threshold and set it low, say 0.1, if it isn't already or the object will be lit as if its flat.)

If this is indeed the issue, when you look at your normals you might notice that instead of them appearing as a single line each they will appear as two lines in a tall thin V shape which i believe is what gives the object the sharp unrounded polygonal edges or lack of "smoothness".

I hope I'm not wasting your time here but I also know most peeps are using blender so wasn't sure you would get a response and I am once again, many, many pages behind. GLHF

I am working on the next skins for the BPR Recreation.
I thought I might share some WIP shots of the new Porsche 964 Carrera RSR 3.8. Zoffty has done a great job with the car. The car is based on his 964 Carrera 2 Cup. With a lot of love for detail the car slowly transformed into a 964 RSR 3.8. The car will join the grid with the Vallelunga pack release.

I hope you like the shots. If you missed the Paris 1000 km pack you should really get it. It contains a lot of skins from the Paris 1000 km race and reworked skins for Paul Ricard, Jarama and Dijon.

Why do you always have to infer a ****** music with such videos ??? The sound of the engines is certainly more welcome in this forum than any DJ .... Sorry, my 2 cents ...
Because what I like and what you like are two different things maybe? You do know you can read a description without pressing play right? Also, I never posted it here, sick of sooks.
Great track but poorly optimized.
Just for comparison:
To be fair, Trento was originally for NetKar (and looks it) and is what? One third the length? (sic) But yes, I'm trying to fix it when I'm home next.

@Lernatix i originally developed a config a year ago or so (which is the one you used in the precedent update), for personal use i remade it from scratch (based on the v3 if im not wrong about the version), if you want (before releasing the optimized version you have planned) we can get in touch and i can send you a final version (which is way better than my original one) config. Just let me know

Do you know if this 3.8 RSR is near to release ?
And what about the Biturbo ?
Thanks

You can use a "driverskin.ini" in the folder "your name/documents/assetto corsa/cfg", to define the suit, gloves and helmet for each driver model. This then will ALWAYS be used ingame for you as player.

For example: "driverskin.ini"

[driver]
SUIT=\sparco\black
GLOVES=\sparco_racecars_tide_rg9\red
HELMET=\helmet_base_red\2

[driver_no_HANS]
SUIT=\sparco\black
GLOVES=\sparco_racecars_tide_rg9\red
HELMET=\helmet_base_red\2

[driver_60]
SUIT=\plain\red
GLOVES=\classicpastel\black
HELMET=\helmet_1969\dark

[driver_70]
SUIT=\plain\red
GLOVES=\classicpastel\black
HELMET=\helmet_1975_black\checkered

[driver_80]
SUIT=\sparco\black
GLOVES=\sparco_racecars_tide_rg9\red
HELMET=\helmet_1985\red
I'm aware of this but I was trying to lunch the idea for a plug-in to add in the next version of CM and/or CSP so you can change everything before the session without searching for the correct name everytime

hi, for the Mercedes-Benz SL500 AMG , v1.1 by Unknown (found here )

has anyone been able to remove the disturbing mirror effect on the 2 little digital instrument pannels (showing the reflection of your gloves all the time)?

Would love the altered extension file ... to learn how this is done
I tried to solve it myself but failed :(

A very enjoyable cabrio for the rest! (well the car audio depiction is disturbing too ... but not as much ;)
What you're talking about doesn't happen with my car. I did some work on the tool. It should be more accurate than before. you can try
