[WIP] F1 1996 MONZA TRACKSKIN BY JV82
For Monza88 by Rainmaker87

I found this 1988 version really amazing to edit.
1996 was very similar in terms of billboards (and their positions).
So much work to do! 🤪

Hi everyone, I've been reading them from the shadows for a while without knowing what to contribute, so I finally took the Hot Rod Ford 32 and created what would be a current version of the ZZ Top band Eliminator. As in one of his video clips the car sounds like a NASCAR I said: well, let it run like a classic NASCAR then...

To the original mod was added:
Change of engine, transmission, tires and sound (from kunos...).
Skins: Eliminator with red interior, (another in black) and others colors with small variations. At the wheel is a kind of young Billy Gibbons.

I leave you the download link and a video of the mod.

I couldn't find the authors of the original car, nor the driver.
(if I infringed any right or annoyed someone please let me know)
For my part, the idea was to contribute something to the community, and if anyone wants to improve it, they are also welcome.
Greetings.

small update:
added better chrome look via extension. Iam having trouble working on physics because collider(together with inertia box) are behind the car and that can be fixed in 3dsmax which i dont have experience with nor have it. If anyone have time, knows the work and wanna help feel free to contact me on pm. Thanks

Maybe these lines at

have something to do with the ai headlights problem?

[MISCELLANEOUS]
SWITCH_HEADLIGHTS_WITH_AI=1
This just means, that your car will do the automatic headlight switching like the AI. So this setting should be ok. The problem is, that the AI are switching in not necessary situations. I never experienced this. But it seems other people have this problem. But this option is just for auto control your own headlights.

You people still like the track. 500 downloads only posting it here in 2 days. New update now with better shaders!

UPDATE Magny-Cours 2011

v2.3
-shader overhaul, less bright
-new flags by racinjoe013
-removed grassrows

Hi Peter, thanks for looking into this frustrating issue.
Just to clarify a few things based on my own experience in case this helps you or Ilja to identify and fix the problem:

  • the basic problem is that my car's headlights sometimes automatically turn on at the start of a daylight session.
  • if I am racing AI during this session, then AI will also start with their headlights on.
  • if my headlights remain off, then AI headlights will also be off, as would be expected.
  • turning my headlights off will NOT make the AI turn theirs off too, which means the AI keep their headlights on for the whole session (which not only looks silly during the day, but also eats performance).
  • headlights on happens randomly at the start of the track session, it never switches during a daylight session already underway (unless darkness subsequently falls).
  • a session can start normally (with headlights off) for several restarts, then for no apparent reason the same session on the same track with the same car using the same clear daylight weather will commence with my (and any AI) headlights turned on.
  • daylight sessions can sometimes start on a new track with headlights on from the very first session, it does not require several 'normal' sessions before the problem manifests, although this scenario can also happen.
  • once a session starts with headlights on then it seems any number of restarts will not 'reset' the headlights and turn them off at the start. Restarting CM or restarting the PC is sometimes needed to clear this.
  • the problem manifests with any car on any track with any daylight weather, it is not dependent on a particular car/track/weather combo.
  • I have tried all combinations of WeatherFX headlight settings to no avail.
  • Ambient light is always above the 'headlights on' trigger points in the Pure settings when this problem happens, it is NOT due to ambient light levels.
  • I use Pure with unaltered Pure PPF but I know other who use Sol having this same, or similar, issue.
  • I use the latest public CSP preview and Pure 0.203 (I've not applied your most recent update yet)

I think that covers it, but if anyone else has anything to add, please comment.

Is Ilja currently aware of the issue?

then CSP or AC is forcing them to go on. Need to dig in deeper

Sorry for this stupid question (and no offense here) but what happens if you tick / untick the option for automatic headlights under weatherfx?

Sadly, nothing at all, it was the first thing I checked when the problem first occurred.
I've tried every possible combination to no avail.
The issue lies deeper than that I think.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

Had that same problem 2 months ago, after thinkering with every option available just as Masscot did, i just unchecked the automatic headights and bam, now everything works.

Glad that worked out for you but these are my current settings and the problem persists.

Hi Peter,

First of all thank you very very much for all your efforts making AC a fantastic sim.

I also have a high beam bug but it depends on the track I am driving. For example if I am driving in Akagi or Brands Hatch when I turn high beams off they stay off. But when I drive around SRP or LA Canyons with/out traffic (offline) high beams automatically turns back on but in online SRP traffic servers they stay off. Tried unchecking "use highbeams for default" over CSP settings, this time when I turn high beams on they automatically turn off and stays off.

@Peter Boese further to earlier discussions, Pure 0.203 Preview loads a lot quicker than the previous version when first joining the track (hurrah!), but that bug where headlights get turned on during the day (for me and for AI drivers) is still present. I know of at least one Sol user who has the same issue, so it might be a CSP rather than a direct Pure/Sol issue (or some conflict between the two), but any idea what might be causing it? It's extremely disruptive as it's quite hard to clear. I can toggle my own headlights but AI keep theirs on during the day when it happens, which not only looks daft but also kills performance.
This can be adjusted in pure config based on ambient light. In the second tab of the pure config

It makes no difference, ambient light is always well above the trigger point for lights activation when the issue occurs.

If 1 is checked, it sets the lights status to the weatherFX generated one:
So if the weatherFX script calls ac.setAiHeadlights(true), lights will be switched on.
If it is not checked, this function can be called, but CSP will not take it.

If 2 is active, headlights are switch on in general. Like an override option.

I saw a little bug, headlights were active ingame, while day! No matter if 1 was set or not. But if i change 2 on and off again, lights were working normally.

Could you try this @Masscot ?

imo there is a miscommunication here. CSP has its own headlights controll and weatherFX status can be used too with the checkbox (1). But actually it seems there is a miss setting at startup. So i could integrate a workarround for now, where the headlights force is just triggered and so it will work again. And then it is the best to set the checkbox 1!

Glad that worked out for you but these are my current settings and the problem persists.

Could you please try this file:
\assettocorsa\extension\weather\pure\pure_ai.lua

It just triggers the force value and saves the weatherFX ini again. This should reset the headlights then.
