I believe technically might be more than my last time I created this. I'm being a bit more 'specific' on layouts now, such as including the temporary 1994 versions (which are mostly already added by Shin's wonderful work), and including circuits (such as two versions of Silverstone) that are the same layouts as others, just with a different start/finish.
  1. Silverstone 1950-1951 (start/finish straight on Farm Straight)
  2. Monza 1950-1954 (square Parabolica/Alboreto curve)
  3. Buenos Aires 1953-1960 (Uses older chicane at turns 8/9, and final hairpin is out longer)
  4. Reims-Gueux 1953 (1954 layout, but tighter first hairpin)
  5. Buenos Aires 1954 (1953-1960 layout, but in reverse)
  6. Ain Diab 1958
  7. Monsanto 1959
  8. Brands Hatch 1964-1974 (Reprofiles across the circuit)
  9. Jarama 1968-1979 (Without extensions at first corner and Portago, reprofiled Bugatti corner)
  10. Buenos Aires 1972-1973 (Uses older chicane at turns 8/9)
  11. Anderstorp 1973-1974 (Sweeping right at end of back straight, start finish after Atlaskurve)
  12. Anderstorp 1974-1977 (Chicane at end of back straight, start finish still after Atlaskurve)
  13. Anderstorp 1978 (Current layout, but start finish still after Atlaskurve)
  14. Zandvoort 1980-1985 (Introduced Hondenvlak chicane)
  15. Jarama 1981 (Older circuit with reprofiled Bugatti corner)
  16. Long Beach 1982 (Changes in first and last sector)
  17. Detroit 1982 (Uses hairpin at Turn 5 of newer circuit)
  18. Long Beach 1983 (Changes made to use Seaside Way instead of Ocean Boulevard)
  19. Magny-Cours 1991 (Has chicane after Adelaide hairpin)
  20. Montreal 1994-1995 (Temporary chicane between Casino and Hairpin)
  21. Silverstone 1994-1995 (Circuit as 1991-1993, but reprofiled Copse, Reprofiled Stowe, Addition of Abbey chicane, Reprofiled Priory/Brooklands)
  22. Silverstone 1996 (Circuit as 1994-1995, but reprofiled Stowe)
  23. Silverstone 2010 (Current layout, but pit straight in old position before Copse - I believe someone has made this layout, but it still skips past the Club chicane.)
  24. Marina Bay/Singapore 2015-2017 (Reprofiled Turns 11-13)
This does mean, that there are/have been 167 different layouts of circuit in F1 history, and we have accurate representations of 143 of these (with 165 of the 167 being essentially 'close enough' - bolded are the only 2 we don't have ANYTHING for)

Thing is, in 40 odd years will people be saying 'this is what a real F1 driver looks like' about Lewis.... I mean to me he looks daft, but then Keki looks like a porn star from a pastiche 1980's film...

Ultimately the idea that we look back and say that James Hunt the posh silver spoon alcoholic is someone to look up to, well I'd rather my kids looked up to Lando Norris. Although i don't think kids should look up to anyone really, just be themselves...

For me it’s also #4, that’s counting, the spoilers in F1 after 1967 until 1977 and after 1993 those high nosed cars that where looking like insect's on wheels so ugly. Not speaking about those brick shaped lemans cars that will hurt your eyes. But happily the future F1 designs and the Peugeot lemans cars are a small glimpse that beauty is also important to keep the sport popular.

You can criticize Hamilton about not being a real champion by lack of competition and always driving superior cars. But keep in your mind F1 was always being the theater of money, playboy drivers, gold diggers, Beautiful girls, glitter and glamour. I think his achievements to the F1 is to bring back a bit of the lost Grand prix nostalgic glory.

edit: it’s not about Hamilton being a real Champion, that would be an endless discussion, but people are forgetting how little it may sounds; he also did bring F1 back to it’s old glory. Sorry I do not know how too better explain this.

Long Beach 1983, Detroit 1982 and Nurburgring 1984 (that you forgot) are all coming. They will be excellent versions by Shi.

It's crazy how much Long Beach changed 1982, 1983 and past that.

For me Zandvoort 80-85 would be the most important. Hopefully someone does it eventually.

No, Hamilton is an amazing driver. I mean having a rookie season like 2007 already proved that he's going to be one of the greats. He was sensational. And there have been only a few occasions when the champion didn't have the best car.

1982 Rosberg (4th or 5th fastest car), 1986 Prost, 2007 Raikkonen (although Ferrari was faster at Monza, Spa and Istanbul because of the longer wheelbase suited better to those tracks) and Schumacher 1994 (sure that was controversial in many ways). People say Senna 1991 too but Williams/Mansell had 4 DNF's in the beginning of the season and when you have car that unreliable it shouldn't count.

As for Nurburgring 1984 - strictly speaking, the layout for 1984 is already included as part of Shin's 2001 Nurburgring (based off Breathe's listings and RacingCircuits.info)

That championship facts was a discussion I wanted to avoid.
Hamiltons (in my opinion) positive impact on F1 is maybe something we do not notice right now and just need some time.

Well, it's not about taking alcoholic brawler vintage porn actor lookalikes as examples to follow... but rather as examples to avoid. But it can't be denied (I think) that before, the world of F1 was more authentic and fun to watch, both the races and what surrounded them. The rivalries and hatreds were genuine, now it seems that conflicts are sought artificially, to try to spice things up...

By the way, Lando is a lovely guy.

But... is there anyone here who still takes my opinions seriously? I posted that message as a joke, with no intention of creating a serious controversy...

Of course I like cars and tracks (and by extension, mods) that are nice, well designed and (in the case of mods) work flawlessly, as close to reality as possible... But I'm capable of taking up free space on my hard drive with unrealistic four-wheeled turds that make your eyes bleed when you look at, as long as they give me a good laugh while racing them, or for sentimental reasons, track mods that look like they were made by five-year-olds and that most people would bin without hesitation...

By the way, as a Spaniard and fan of Fernando Alonso, I affectionately hate Lewis Hamilton, who is undoubtedly a great driver.

We were talking about it privately the other day; how nice it's that Asseto Corsa can accomodate all kinds of people; from the perfectionist conneiseur obsessed with reproducing real life down to the smallest detail, to the one who simply wants to have a good time racing around with a piece of crap on wheels... It's a wonderful life! 😊

Regards F1 it was a form of sport made up by the very rich to blat around in fast cars. It turned into what we have now via various guises but mainly one of entitlement and need for very very rich parents or whole countries to back you.
Thankfully i don't care enough about it to even get mildly aroused into expending brain matter into who is the best now, greatest then or greatest ever.
All I can say for sure, is that if Lando's Dad wasn't worth 400 million and mates with Zac Brown he would never of made it close to F1.... that isn't to say he doesn't deserve to be there because he is fantastic, its more to say how many could be there but just don't have the right parents or like with Checo Mexico's money behind them...
Me i prefer Motorcycle racing in all forms...

There have always been those rich drivers, it's not a new phenomenon. Paul Belmondo and Johnny Dumfries come to mind. Actually Dumfries came to Lotus because Senna vetoed against Derek Warwick. Dumfries actually had a decent lower class career before that so he wasn't all without merits.

Yeah OT but about greatest drivers... think about Prost who beat five world champion teammates (Senna, Lauda, K.Rosberg, Hill and Mansell). On top of that he beat Cheever, Alesi, Arnoux, Johansson and outclassed Watson in his rookie season even with injuries. No one else in F1 has such track record, not even close. Never demanded #1 driver position (although 1993 was obvious). Still people often forget Prost when they think about greatest drivers of all time.

That's because Prost wasn't a flashy driver. Way too much emphasis is put on irrelevant things. Like who's the "rain master" and all that. 95% of the races take place in dry. Or who gets the pole, etc. Prost always set up his car with the race in mind... and I think he never drove even close to his 100% potential, avoided risks.

It's almost like if in football they would just discuss how many beautiful dribbles they made... or how many dangerous free kick positions they got... or how much bigger their possession numbers were. And then they'd lose the game 0-1. "B-but he made so many beautiful dribbles, they deserved to win."

The only thing that actually matters is how many points the driver has at the end of the season. That's how the drivers are measured in this sport.

And you have to understand how Prost drove. Always very conservative at the start of the race. Took first 5-10 laps very carefully... never charged. Monza 1990 is a perfect example when he let hothead Alesi go through and picked up the same position 5 minutes later when Alesi spun. He was never a spectacular driver, a short shy guy and they never made a movie of him. Sure, Senna was faster and more handsome but Prost was smarter. To me Senna and Prost are equal... but in so different ways.

Hello. There is a problem. on some tracks, in quick race mode, cars appear not on the starting straight, but on the pit lane. How can I fix this?

So I've had the time to give this 2024 Abu Dhabi a try. Tested with the new RSS F2 2024. I'm one of these weird people who likes this track - and like Jerez and Valencia RT, I'm keen on getting an up-to-date version with all the bells and whistles of modern-day AC (so not an RFactor-era conversion - while shin does great work, the final product is inherently limited).


This version is... pretty good. There's a lot going for it - it's optimized well, especially at night. It seems real-world accurate, and there's no major graphical issues with the buildings or surrounding geometry. The road mesh feels accurate, and felt good to drive.

First, a few outstanding issues, and then perhaps a subjective one. The sector times are broken - around 20 seconds into the lap, just before the first hairpin, the sector will immediately change to Sector 3, and wipe the Sector 1 time. There are timing issues all over the lap, likely as a result of this - there are frequent times where your position will go haywire. Many tracks have this problem (Fenryr's Imola [though not the RJ version, I believe] and Kniker's Silverstone come to mind immediately) - so it definitely is fixable. Timing has to work on these tracks, so this is definitely worth looking into.


The AI is also deathly slow - at 100% strength, I'm about 2.5 seconds a lap faster in the RSS F2 - and I'm no eSports driver or anything of the like. The main issue seems to be in Sector 3, where they basically crawl through the final two corners. Worth really nailing a lap to get right. They also seem to take a fairly odd wide line through the sweeping left hander that replaced the second end-of-straight chicane - and are likely losing a few tenths there as well. They do seem fairly safe, though - as I only saw one crash through the Sector 1 esses in ~6 runs.

Finally, the subjective part - I do think that the whole track, particularly the Sector 3/Start-Finish area, is too darkly lit. This is a track that's known for blasting your face with white night lighting - I'd say the optimization is good enough where a handful of bright dynamic lights throughout the track would make a big difference. (And maybe the mythical "exclusive" lights, if anyone ever figures out what the hell that means).

Point being, I think this is a good enough base for a quality AC Abu Dhabi - it just needs some extra fixes. Cheers.

Adding to this, there are track limits invalidating my laps anywhere. Would love to use this in my league, but this is too big an issue. Kind of amazes me when something like this is overlooked.

Otherwise this is my go-to version for lapping.

Are the gear ratios correct? I'm very quickly bouncing off the rev limiter in top gear, even on medium-length straights.
