Yes please! Anything would help! (By the way, I got the parts, It's just in recent times blender exports wheels like this)View attachment 1417306

Looks like the wheel positions need to be set in the suspension.ini file, or the wheels aren't connected to the Wheels empties correctly.

Firstly I wish each and every one of you a very decent and productive 2025.

Then...Cloud Storage.
Since my last back-up hard-disk crash I'm slowly rebuilding my AC database and I'd like my new repository to be cloud-based at least for a year or two.
Which cloud service would be or is currently your choice?

Mega has sexy prices.
GDrive is Google so sort-of-inevitably omnipresent.
My experience with Onedrive is that it can't even stream a lo-fi mp3 through my phone, it kinda stinks in my view.
Dropbox?

My aim is 2/3 TBs of space.

I have fixed my 1982, 1983 and 1984 seasons, mostly by stuff I've managed to find. I have painted a lot of stuff myself too, like correcting the last numbers/names on the cars, etc. Of course I did year specific leadeboards for each year which show the driver, team, engine manufacturer, etc.

SD cars in their default form are total crap. We all know that. I've changed the physics, fixed probably 100 skins during the year. For example most cars used the same skin. Like both Alboreto and Berger in 1984 Ferrari had the name plate "ALBORETO" on the side, same number 27, Williams 1983 had text "MOBIL 1 RALY FORMULA". That actually cracked me up. How can you even misspell something like that on a car skin, etc. Too many to mention. They drive better now and they look better. They COULD look even much better but it's so much work.

I have collected all best helmets and driver faces that I've managed to find too. For example Senna 1984 Toleman looks actually pretty good now. Best helmets for Lauda, Prost, Piquet, etc. Villeneuve helmet is 90% accurate for 1982 too. One ad should be changed still, etc. Slowly but surely these have become a bit enjoyable.

If you have stuff that we could use in 1982, 1983 and 1984 seasons, please let me know. I'll put all in.

Keke's engine manufacturer is Williams Honda in the pic because I forgot to switch from 1984 leaderboard to 1982. It's all correct in the actual product.

Maybe I should start cleaning up the actual car skins next? SD work is very sloppy compared to say, the Lotus98T based 1986 skins which are incredible (I actually improved them too by adding plenty of driver suits, gloves, etc.)

I'm working on this idea, totally pointless.

Oh and a belated merry Christmas.

I have fixed...

That OBSESSIVE pursuit of the perfection... If I were a top boss at NASA, I'd hire you to calculate orbits in space or something. I'm sure you wouldn't neglect the smallest detail... 😅

Happy New Year for you all!

Thanks. Happy New Year to you as well.

"Pursuit for perfection" is pretty much an endless pursuit when the SD cars are the base though.

The other alternative, solid could be INFOMANIAK, but the limit is 2tb unless you switch to a team account

Sure you don't want a local NAS running RAID? I've had one for years, never had any issues, and your data is safe and totally under your own control. And no subscription fees.

In order to have a safe NAS in RAID you need to invest in a quality NAS and drives, which at least in Italy are not cheaper if you want the right RAID. But for sure is the best solution for a "one payment" instead a recurring one for years

Chevrolet Camaro SS350 ´67 SkyttRacing

Hi! Me and my brother decided to share our version of our father's camaro. Built to mimic a trans-am racer from the 60s but still capable of taking on a Sunday drive. Our dear father drives it as often as he can in the summer. Some specs...

Happy new year everyone. Also, some infor from VRC about what's next from them:

I'm getting no smoke in AC. I tried everything including particle fx in CM settings but nothing. I went back to older CSP still nothing. I tried all the stuff I could find on Reddit posts but nothing cured it. I even did a fresh clean install of windows 11 and installed AC still the same case. I'm ussing Pure, no Sol, tried the lates CSP still no smoke/dust. I went back to older CSP 0.2.4. I'm still not getting any smoke in the game. Can someone please help?

To me, the most important is the last sentence. We read before that Kunos contacted the leading developers of AC and will try to "motivate" them to start developing for AC Evo. Which totally makes sense from Kunos perspective. They know that as long as there will be new quality mods for AC1, AC1 will keep on thriving and AC2 will have a very hard time keeping up. But as soon as majority of top devs move to the new platform, the user base will follow. It happened to all top sims of the past (gtr2, Automobilista, Rfactor 1,....). And if they succeed in this that RSS, VRC, URD, Sergio Loro, Bazza,... move to AC2, AC2 will become a new king in due time. And that worries me personally the most. That AC1 will start loosing the user base and with that also quality new content. And I seriously doubt that Evo will be as open and as easy to develop for and especially as cheap from the average user perspective.

Before AC EVO will be ready (i mean ready at 100%) a lot of time will be required. AC EVO will also requires a new higher pc specs which not every sim-racers have. I doubt AC will be replaced soon and also modders will left it since people like RSS and VRC create a proper business around it.

For me the most exciting is the vrc tourers pack part drei, some german touring cars from vrc would be nice.

I am forgetting what words to use to search the forum... when the ground reflects off the chrome parts of the cockpit... is there an extension that must be added to prevent?

Do consider this: even with the most expensive NAS , if your house burns down, you will probably loose your data!
(unless you foresee a 2nd NAS in an alternate location and setup mirroring - but then it becomes twice as expensive and cumbersome)

I am forgetting what words to use to search the forum... when the ground reflects off the chrome parts of the cockpit... is there an extension that must be added to prevent?

When there are parts inside that give unreal disturbing reflection (eg from curbs)
you can try adding this in config_ext.ini:

[MESH_ADJUSTMENT_...]
MESHES= mesh1, mesh2
MOVE_TO = COCKPIT_HR

OR you can make the part (mesh) or material none-reflective by adding :

[SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...]
ACTIVE= 1 ;0 to temp disable to compare
MESHES= mesh1, mesh2
;MATERIALS = material1, material2
PROP_... = ksAmbient, 0.50
PROP_... = ksDiffuse, 0.35
PROP_... = ksSpecular, 1
PROP_... = ksSpecularEXP, 150
PROP_... = fresnelMaxLevel, 0.0 ; this stops it from reflecting anything, increase eg to 0.01 to have some reflection
PROP_... = fresnelEXP, 1
PROP_... = fresnelC, 0.0 ; this stops it from reflecting anything, increase eg to 0.01 to have some reflection
PROP_... = useDetail, 1
PROP_... = detailUVMultiplier, 600
PROP_... = detailNormalBlend, .05
DOUBLE_FACE_SHADOW_BIASED = 1

Names of meshes or materials that have the unreal reflection you can find via CM Showroom.

I lost my spark effects last year in a similar scenario. It’s maddening.
