Hi. Some news about content manager. Its tire size generator may display wrong sizes. This led me to believe mini car model size is wrong.
This bug is reported to Ilja, thanks to @Pete82. Ilja's response was: "ok, i will work on it".
While we wait for a fix i recommend not tot relay on cm for tire size calculations and do this manually from formula provided on overtake. Here is Link.
I use this, as it uses the formula on that post:

i did try to download it but Microsoft safety thingy removes it and says it has a virus. so i did not risk it. probably false positive, if You are using it fine.

Hi friends,

I'm currently reviewing all tracks > 7km in my track list

While testing Spa66 from Reboot Team updated by racing joe013 1.06 , I found a mirroring effect seen at Raidillon from Eau Rouge that I do not like .

I was able to disable it by making a wild shader replacement with ksPerPixelMultiMap_NMDetail, that uses original values and part of the texture of the original shader (which is ksMultiLayer_fresnel_nm)
[SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...]
ACTIVE=1
DESCRIPTION= fixing mirror effect raidillon
MESHES=vis_1ROAD_1_001
MATERIALS= ROAD_TRACKMAIN01_WET
SHADER = ksPerPixelMultiMap_NMDetail
PROP_... = ksAmbient, 0.38
PROP_... = ksDiffuse, 0.33
PROP_...= fresnelC, 0.3
PROP_... = fresnelEXP, 6
PROP_... = fresnelMax,0.6
PROP_... = ksSpecular, 0.1
PROP_... = ksSpecularEXP, 10
RESOURCE_3= txDetail
RESOURCE_FILE_3= tarmac-detail.dds
RESOURCE_4= txNormalDetail
RESOURCE_FILE_4= tarmac-detail_NM.dds
I'm pretty satisfied with it because this track is really incredible and I was annoyed by this single mirroring effect :-)

However, I was not able to make this mirroring effect disappear by changing the original values of the original ksMultiLayer_fresnel_nm shader, which is the common shader for road textures, it seems. Just to enhance my skills , would there be a shader / texture wizard that could explain me how I could have done it properly ?

I got a virus/malware warning on the first livery I tried to download. Have you downloaded any of his liveries successfully?
1. There should not be any malware in Overtake downloads. Have you downloaded other liveries from the skin maker? If not, why give up after 1 try.

2. Which livery gave you the warning?... if you want us to test the download.

3. Have you looked at the Discussion section of that specific livery? Maybe there was another user that also had a virus warning and asked the modder about it in the Discussion section.

Thanks!
Just tested it and the rear lights seem to turn off after pressing the brake a few times.
Anyone else having this issue?
Very weird!

Edit: they can turn off randomly by themselves too, no brake pedal needed. And flicker on and off. Odd!
I guess there might be conflicting instructions in the config somewhere? Maybe duplicated or something?
will have a look later mate

1. No I have not this is the first time. It was very late in the afternoon and I was ready to quit playing but I thought I would go ahead and download this to install the next time I play. That's why I didn't try another one.

2. This is the one that gave the warning https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/2025-wec-manthey-1st-phorm-and-iron-dames-pack.76063/

3. Yes I did look at the discussion section and I have asked the modder about it.

Are you using firefox by any chance?

I ask because yesterday I had my first encounter with a download on overtake yesterday that had the "virus" issue. https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/ferrari-488-gte-skins-for-urd-ferrucci-448t-egt.79567/ . I already have mods from them so I just went for it any way 🤷‍♂️, but seeing your post made me curious and I just tried both links in edge and they downloaded fine. So for me it seems to just be an overeager firefox thing, not windows virus getting triggered.

Yes I am using Firefox. Next time I'll try a different browser to see if it changes.

I've been looking for a nice and easy but also visually pleasing track that I can let visitors to my house try on my sim rig. I have finally found the one to let them test. It's easy and fun with good visuals and some elevation changes which is something I love. I know this is an old track but I just found it the other day. Now it's just a question of which cars do I put them in first for this one. Thanks to everybody that contributed to this one!

Great - thanks!
Can you please also add this at the end of the config, it'll stop daylight leaking through the instrument cowl seams onto the instrument cluster.

Code:
;stop daylight leaking onto instrument cluster
[SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...]
ACTIVE = 1
MATERIALS = INT_Plastic_Bump
CULL_MODE = DOUBLESIDED
CAST_SHADOWS = 1
DOUBLE_FACE_SHADOW_BIASED = 1

I can recommend Brave. Very lightweight, good privacy, and comes with an excellent built-in ad-blocker.
Funny while I did leave Brave, it’s using to much resources and only with built inn pay-ware VPN. Right now I’m in the middle of a clean Win11 install and experimenting with DuckDuckGo, Opera (=Chinese) and Vivaldi browsers as an alternative!
The clean install btw, was a pain in the ass, as Microsoft did remove all the methods to avoid registering on the new Win11 release.

About viruses in a downloads, read my old posting, think it’s still valid and it can easily be checked if it’s a “false” warning.

Copy/paste old message:
Guys I know its a bit off topic, sorry 😇, but about virus scan software info and wanting to change, please check these sites:
https://www.av-test.org/en/
https://www.av-comparatives.org/consumer/
https://www.virusbulletin.com/testing
forget site as “top 10 best virusscansoftware” that popup on the toppage of Google search because all being scam.

To end all the discussions about, your mod does contain a virus here is a listing of online, file checkers that uses multiple virus scanners.

Interesting reading about MS defender at: https://www.techpowerup.com/295877/...-impact-intel-cpu-performance-we-have-the-fix

I do hope its helpful in the discussion about suspicious files.

Comparing the Protech F92 F6 it just didn't have the ability to steer on throttle and get turn-in with weight transfer like the URD. I have replicated what I could from the URD set-up to the Protech and returned expected traits & agility, my CM set-up here for the Protech F92 F6:

I'm joining your discussion. What I like about the VRC model is the way the camera moves (shakes).
It's a kind of neck FX, but it's built into the model because I haven't activated it.
Do you know how I can integrate it into other models?
Thanks for your help.

Could someone give me the names of modders who make the best AI lines for circuits?
I already know Parilla, but are there others who do solid work like him?

hey all, had great fun with this new little toy from ACTK
I altered some things (driver scale & pos, sound) hence I thought I'd share his v1.0 as a complete v1.0.1 ! :lol:
It came with a bunch of great skins already, but I just had to add my own as well :)

but started to learn Lua sdk in parallel... as much as I discover Assetto Corsa script possibilities, my curiosity was triggered, I want to spend some time to understand why AI issues can't be tackled. A part from the Nuzzi app, I did not find many AI apps, and no open source, maybe that would be a nice project.
Oh i've been having this pet project of mine with AI and lua scripts.

So far what i learned/achieved :

-The fastlanes are composed of a few payloads, mainly position points, inputs, vectors/directions, etc. So althought the AI is hardcoded and the payloads are strictly informative for the AI, you can actually extract the fastlane in some CSV file and edit, copy, slice apiece of fastlane to another. A great tool to take the first corner from a fastlane, the middle part from a second one, and the last sector from a third one, all combined into a final fastlane with all your perfect inputs.

I couldn't for the hell of me turn the converters and editors into a working lua app (and that's only because of a particular mathematical precision failure in the lua APIs) , but the python apps work wonders to convert AI->CSV->Ai files. If you're familiar with python you 'll find your way, i'll add them here, i just need to make better names extracts to avoid renaming each export/import.

So far, until i fix the stupid payload_0 first index error, here's the lua app with a reader (so you can track car's position from the payloads and edit the CSV files accordingly).

So, second part : now that you have the fastlane 3D position, and every info about it, you can translate this data to something exploitable by a lua script. You can use the @shi basic one, and add a behavior related to a car depeinding on its position around the Fastlane. I made a fastlane to lua values friendly converter as well.

@shi 's ai hints.lua should give you realtime access to what is basically ai_hints. It lacks proper BRAKEHINT at the moment, but at least it's real time. So far the furthest i got was a basic behavior with the car on the left side slowing down, while the car on the right side push harder, cars getting higher HINT values when they're on the fastlane, things like that. I stopped in the middle, out of free time to develop anything, but let me add the ai_hints.lua i had for Dundrod when i was trying things, you might find something useful in it (to use the ai_hints.lua, you need the track ext_config.ini to enable it).

To my understanding so far, choices have to be made. Getting all the cars' positions and updating on every frames depending on calculations on where they stand is gonna be costly. Might be worth it for some situations, not so much most of the time.

Anyway, one day i'll get my head back at it, if you wanna give it a try, my crappy codes are yours.

The Broken Car Kicker app on Overtake is interresting as well. It allows for real time control of some parts of the ai.ini files from each AI car. Pretty costly again if you run it real time, but going into the code, it's easy to either call it at start on the script.update and a few times thorough a track, which means you could improve cars behavior in real time depending on conditions. It shouldn't be too hard to give the inside car a late braking, allowing for some interresting modularity along the race.
