As Scotty Kilmer says... old Volvos last forever. I never really liked Volvos though... but boy I respect them. We have dozens of them on sale in the local Web marketplace... many that have over 600K kilometers. And they drive in the road salt here every winter.
I love Volvos. we have had 4 in our family, but i cannot disagree more with you. Volvo 760 turbo (later renamed 740), turbo shat itself around only 80,000km. Volvo 164e from 1973, 3.0liter motor that used more fuel than a 5.0l v8 and rust, rust, rust, and terrible body roll. Volvo s80 - twin turbo straight 6, that driven hard had the worst torque steer (fwd, 200kw), at 100,000km turbo blowing white smoke, and very noisy top end. You get good and bad examples of any brand, 1 million kms is rare for any car on one engine.

Volvo 850...this will be the 1996 spec knowing them but it'll be amazing if this is going to be the wagon. And the 156...not a bad choice to be fair. It'll go well for the 1998 grid since the car was planned to race but Alfa Corse dipped out and not run it.

Can't be the estate if it's a 96 spec !

I'm looking to create a skin pack for this car, but having trouble. I'm hoping that I can get some help. I suspect that the issue I'm running into is that the name of the Skin (AO_BODY.dds) is the exact same as the map. So when I choose a darker color, it looks normal, but when I choose a brighter color, it's a shiny mess. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You can add map texture in ext_config.ini.
Example;
Code:
[SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...]
ACTIVE = 1
MATERIALS = Material #2565
RESOURCE_0 = txMaps
RESOURCE_FILE_0 = body_map.dds

See my previous correction;

Well, it must be that cars for the Finnish market are more ruggerized than those for the rest of the world market, to withstand the treatment from the crazy Finns... 😝

You have to watch "Hakkinen teaches Captain Slow James May to drive" video on Youtube. :D

It's not about you agreeing or disagreeing. Or even a matter of opinion.

48.300 Volvos on Finnish (population of only 5.5 million) roads alone TODAY that have 300.000-800.000 kilometers on the clock.

We have official yearly inspection statistics of it. There aren't any other car brands with so many high mileage examples on our roads today. We (and the Swedes) have been familiar with these cars for 50 years.

Our Web marketplace is full of 600K driven Volvos. OLD Volvos. Nobody knows how those new Chinese Volvos will last.

This 'Better Tire Sounds' app is worth checking out if (like me) it completely slipped under your radar.

The following sounds are replaced by this app:
Skidding/sliding
Curb rumble
Grass roll/skid
Sand roll/skid
Asphalt roll/skid
Brake squeal
Collision sounds

Additionally, the app adds the following effects:
Suspension travel/rattle

Hey, @IMEAN fixed Dallas 1984 GP fastlane. Very safe races now. I simulated a 20 lap race and no crashes. However the pit exit is a bit hazardous as it is on "ANON Caesar's Palace". All ad banners are right for the 1984 GP but surely this track could use some love. There's no TV cameras and everything is a bit rough.

But now it drives nicely.

If you're using the modded 1984 cars for the season, maximize both wings as this track needs a lot of downforce. Piquet pole time was 1:31 and I was able to do high 1:32 with Rosberg/Williams with some practicing. Seems to be very good (AC wise). The real GP pole time was many seconds slower though but sometimes we have to do these compromises to keep the AC racing competitive.

Great job thanks.

your browser must have some specific "privacy" options, on edge it block trackers by default which....... Trigger overtake.gg
On my side, even when AdBlock and similar tools are turned off on their platform, they still keep asking me to disable them.

Because of that, I decided to just keep them permanently enabled, since it makes no difference whether they’re on or off.

The funny part is that, with everything enabled, I only have to click “Allow” and reload once to get access — and then I don’t see the request again for at least 12 hours.

Hi everyone, question: does anyone know why CM's Camera Editor won't let me save changes to the BONNET Camera? The save button isn't enabled. I'll start by saying I already have the DATA folder unzipped because I make changes manually in the Car.ini file. Is there a string that needs to have a default value? I can save on some mods, but not on most. Thanks in advance.

model seems decent, even better than MMG F2008, despite lower poly count.

I checked the F2007 but it is way too similar to VRC first F2007 to be worth it, and the F248 is inferior to the CTDP F248

if any modder wants a car they seek in TDFRL, hit me up in dm

EDIT : I possibly can do tracks

Yes and no really. The car and over 100 race event specific skins are ready. Sadly we do not find the needed time to give the car physics the needed finishing touches. It is a real shame but I understand, that we all have our everyday life which can leave us next to zero space for such a project. For me it is certainly the case at the moment and I know that the other team members have very little time as well. I personally keep my fingers crossed, that we can finish the car.
No problem man. As you rightly said, real-life problems take precedence over a simple mod for a virtual game.

So take your time, we'll be here waiting!!!

Been using it for a while now, and the crash sound is very nice compared to the vanilal one! (Not that I crash often... :rolleyes:)

I never crash. Except this one time, in 1998, when I hit a cast iron gate pole with my Volvo 240 Turbo. The pole tipped over, ripping its concrete fundament from the ground, bending my license plate and pushing one of the extra lights out of position. Other than that, no damage and happy days.

My theory is that when extended physics is enabled it uses own generated car.ini and can't modify real car.ini. csp things. Try doing that without extended physics enabled.

Wagon only raced in 1994, 95' and 96' was the years of the sedan. 97' is when the S40 took over.

Hello everyone,

one stupid question: Is there a bug in the actual CSP where spectator flashes don’t function?

[CONDITION_...]
NAME = CROWD_FLICKERING_NEW
INPUT = SUN
LUT = (|0=0|85=0|85=1|180=1)

[SPECTATORS]
FLASH_INTENSITY = CROWD_FLICKERING_NEW

This code worked a few weeks ago, but now does it only work for other specified meshes but not for spectators in general (if it’s understandable what I mean).

In the settings it’s checked, that spectators should flash and my ext_config.ini is set up this way - so I am clueless what’s missing.

Thanks in advance.

Bit of a pickle... Anyone knows why the cluster warnings are displayed correctly in CM (alpha testing applied and it has an alpha channel) but it doesn't work in-game ? I'm this close to bin all that *****.

Finally, someone is working on it! Back in the day, I really wanted to play it, but the controls were so terrible that I didn’t know what to do with it.
I suppose the tracks can be converted easily as well, right?
Are the car sound files also available and accessible? Many years ago I once looked through the files, but I couldn’t find the sounds anywhere.

Honestly, it's **** at first, but after playing need for speed shift 2, and aquiring a T300, the controls aren't as terrible, and it's even fun. It's just very.........Adrenaline, like you're always in tension, always making correction at each turns as if you were driving a soap. but it is fun.

The tracks can be converted yes but same as the car, the annoyance comes from exporting this from 3DSmax to Blender cuz I have no skills in 3DS max, the scale is wrong when exporting in fbx, I have to import in blender at 39.5 scale, here's an example of old spa

1754775812141.webp

The sounds, are in .fev/.fsb file, iirc there's a need for speed shift audio extractor that can extract the .fsb files, the formula 1 engine sound are not that good, although the 88 ferrari I might try converting that engine sound.
