O that is great , so how would I go about doing that?

for example for the Citroen AX Proto GTI by ACTK ,
it currently has :
EXTRA A: **** anim
EXTRA B: Enabled secondary lights
EXTRA C: Fog lights
EXTRA D: Open door left
EXTRA E: Open door right
EXTRA F: Neon (skin Jacky Tuning)

How do I change EXTRA A to Ignition on/off and EXTRA B to Engine Start?

(Or you mean it takes only 2 min when there is already an option for Ignition and Engine Start but mapped to another EXTRA slot? That I would be able to do ... :))
Use Extended Control app and change it to whatever you like! :sly:

Finally completed the sound mods for the F1 LM, GT-ONE, Panoz (Will do a slightly tweaked second version for the race car) and recently finished one for the XJ220S as the XJ220S mod I was using had a weird sample and didn't sound neither right or wrong if that makes sense:

The Panoz and F1 LM both use completely new samples from last time as they are now in stereo and the Panoz had to be redone from scratch since I accidentally overwrote and deleted the entire soundbank of the Panoz the same day I completed the first version.:banghead:

The shift sound for the Panoz can be silenced via the extension file and same for the F1 LM but it was added mainly for the LM and GTR as there was silence between shifts. Also added one for the GTR but will post that one abit later as it will be it's own standalone as it will convert the regular GTR to SuperSport spec, along with new skins as I will create more for it aswell to give it variety.

The completed mods will only be the car sounds themselves and optional tweaked data files as I had to tweak some of the cars to be more controller friendly as I believe they were created with steering wheels in mind; links to the actual cars themselves will be posted along with the sound mods once released as I want to do it fairly soon.

Just to say thanks much mate for your input & KN5 timer file. I did as you recommended using your file & it worked a treat.
Rabbit Field is so much more fun to race the AI now as Turn i is not a smash fest anymore.
You're welcome.
Would you share your AI lines for others?

It's certainly the best we've got in AC, but hopefully Fenryr will add the missing layouts and the missing pylons by 1.0. The jumbotron camera positions are a little weird too, they don't really show the action.

MotorLand Aragón's not always a dust bowl either, so hopefully somebody will do a lush green rainy season skin for it like they did for Laguna Seca.
All that beige makes me thirsty.

I am working on some camtool cams for it but it is going to take me a while. I am also going to look at the config as the trees are more gray than they are green.

Hi, its possible to adapt a skin made for one car to another, different but very similar one? Is it difficult to do? Thanks in advance.

Sometimes.
Sometimes the different mods are based on the same model and same AO. Those come over quite easily.
Sometimes the AO has been redone and is rotated or resized. Those need a bit of editing but are possible.
Sometimes the model and the AO are different. Mostly these are “start again”.
Maybe the decals are good enough quality to match your intended output, and you can use them.
Not often though, and also, someone else’s work. Careful now :)
Whatever you do, don’t forget to credit if you share. Lest the credit-police come for you 😊

... Specular on foliage is also fixed, it won't glow like uranium any more...
Indeed, yes, since updating to the latest versions, I've noticed that the gardener they have hired at CSP and Pure must be watering the lawns with water from Chernobyl, given the shine of the grass on some tracks...

As racinjoe013 told me, to reduce that shine you have to leave the "light.sun.speculars" slider almost at 0 in the Pure settings, but sometimes that's not enough on some tracks...

I suppose the solution involves messing too with the config.ini file in every specific track... If so, would you be so kind as to tell me (explained for dummies) which parameters I need to change, please?

And while we're at it, what parameter needs to be adjusted to darken (if it can be done easily changing something in config) the color of the grass?

Thanks...

If you look at the end of the revised config I uploaded for Aragon yesterday, the final entry is...
Code:
[SHADER_REPLACEMENT_...]
DESCRIPTION=anti-glow foliage
ACTIVE = 1
MATERIALS = shader:ksTree
PROP_...=ksSpecular, 0
...which is a catch-all to adjust everything that uses the ksTree shader (ie all foliage, if the track is set up properly) to have ksSpecular value of zero.
You can add other individual materials directly by name (without the shader: prefix), by separating them with commas, or create a whole new [SHADER_REPLACEMENT] section to fine-tune individual materials.
Different properties can be added, eg to darken the grass use

PROP_...=ksAmbient, X

(where X is the value you want... try 0.2 for example, original value might be around 0.4, but experiment or check the original value in object inspector).
Other values like ksDiffuse can be altered in a similar way.

Or, you can create a skin and edit the actual textures for saturation, brightness etc, but you can't alter things like Specular that way, which was the original problem with the Aragon foliage.

By the way, the geo tags of Aragón Circuit are wrong. I noticed by setting "real conditions" and checking there was a high temperature, something completely off for this time of the year in Aragón. Then I clicked on the geo tags and it redirected me to Losail Circuit in Qatar :lol:

This Fenryr guy never cares about the small details. He even didn´t make proper replay cams, in his Nurburgring for example. The GP layouts cams are all messed and broken. He has already pushed a few updates but never touched the cams. Why release something that is half-baked? Replay cams are a must-have for any good quality track.

It’s all about priorities and available time. Good road mesh, kerbs and AI are more important to me and Fenryr than geotags or replay cams. I will fix the jumbos in next release and plan to make all layouts (8 in total) as this is my favourite circuit in Europe.
Fenryr did amazing job to bring good versions of Jerez and Aragon to AC. We should be thankful.

I also wish he was being a bit more careful, when it came to some details, like for example the groove/tire marks on the asphalt.

I already know that he is going to put those ugly tire marks at Jerez and Aragon with one of the next updates, the same ones he always uses only at the corners, which never looks like in real life to me. And also the groove will float 20 cm over the surface and will be off almost everywhere... Maybe that's why he doesn't make replay cams, it's then mostly noticable.

But agreed, a new and updated version of Aragon is more than welcome. And I prefer his up-to-date Nürburgring/Nordschleife (I deleted his tire marks via config there)

Not poking the bear here, but why should it be one or the other? Why can't geotags and replay cameras and everything else that makes a track 'complete' also be included, especially in a paymod?
By using 'priorities and available time' as a reason, paying customers might wonder whether they're buying an unfinished track (and yeah, I know this is 0.7, but it has been released behind a paywall) and whether the modder has already moved on to the next product to sell.
Should we really 'be thankful' for this approach, especially when money is involved? I'm a lot more thankful to modders like @shi who go above and beyond to make sure their tracks are of a very high standard and as complete as possible, acting swiftly to rectify any bugs, errors or omissions... and all without a paywall in sight.

Regarding the Fenryr Nords version, I have a couple of questions:

1.) What makes his version different from the Kunos version? Is the layout more accurate. I.E., elevations, turns, etc.

2.) Anyone else get stuck on loading the ai spline on the Nords layout? Only way I could get past it was to delete the .ai files and put some other .ai files in it's place.

3.) What's up with the trees? Thankfully he used the same tree file names as the Kunos version so I was able to take the tree files from my Kunos Nords track skin and put them in his version. Add in a new vao patch and at least the trees look better.

Anyone else having issues with Jugee's Trueno ? Light animation works fine in CM but doesn't in game and it's been that way since... Well its release.

Lights on CM :

Think I'll do one myself instead of relying on broken ass mods from 'good' modders

I would recommend to download and install Morisan´s 3d trees for fn_nurburgring v1.2. Could not stand these ugly cardboard trees any longer. I think Fenryr´s version is more accurate in terms of sponsor placement and updated buildings and foliage since it is an ACC convert which came up years later than the AC version. Both are laserscanned. The Kunos one is just outdated, I have binned it after Fenryr´s version. No need to keep it, but this is just my opinion. Now go ahead and bash me why I dared to delete vanilla Kunos content.

Thanks for the info. I don't think i'll bin the original just yet because i've modded the he!! out of it. The version I use no longer looks like the original. Too much time spent to just toss it.

I think I will keep the Fenryr version as well and tinker around with making it look more to my liking. Besides the trees (which I fixed already), i'm not a fan of how saturated the grass is either. Plus it needs more variety. Everything is just way too green. I always prefer some brown patchy areas thrown in here and there for variety. I also have to figure out my ai spline problem. Maybe it requires a newer CSP version for the ai spline to load.

To add something to this conversation, problem is that even AI is not good enough. I tested the Sprint layouts of Nurburgring with the VRC Super Tourers and they are ridiculously bad, even with 95-96 % of AI strenght set. I was like 5s faster than the second best AI...and +10s faster than the last dude. If the priority is the AI, I can´t see in this track.

How did 100% ai go for you just curious.

Simply because each modder has different workflow and focus. And each has its own personal preferences. You like thin fences and cables and other like them thick, one loves replays, other doesn’t care. For some it means incomplete track for others its fine. One is certain that you can’t satisfy everyone. It’s your decision to buy or not bearing in mind version number. I don’t know any modder as responsive and flexible in vision as Shin who I truly admire. Truth is majority is unresponsive and paywalled. And as in life everything will have different assessment in light of what you compare it with.

I always do all my own UI updates on all tracks I download for this very reason.

The inaccurate Geo Location bugs the **** out of me - especially when I need to use it for league racing (MX-5 at Atlanta Motorsports Park this weekend, link in sig!) and the session manager reads the wrong time zone.

I'm not exactly sure how missing details that determine weather conditions and time of day has anything to do with "workflow", but whatever.

Here's my quick placeholder for now that I can add.

Note 2 things - one, that it's marked BETA very loudly (as it is very much a beta) and two, that this UI cites the GTP updates from yesterday and Leghorn's AI on RaceDepartment.

Remove the .txt, extract, and paste/replace in fn_aragon track folder. Only the .jsons have been changed.

Cheers.

EDIT: There's usually a download link in the UI files, but I realized this track is paid and removed it. The link will be added once the track becomes public.

Still better than them, but this time by "only" 2s :lol:

It's definitely something with the ai_lines and ai_hints not good for VRC tourers (and probably many other cars since those ones are of good quality). Kunos Nurburgring is also not very good, I can still beat them easily. And believe me, I'm one of the worst drivers of the world lol. On another tracks with good ai_lines/hints AI **** me on the worst possible ways and I'm always on the bottom of the grid.

it doesn't allow to add it to any car mod (as I had hoped)... only if the car has ignition and starter already, you can simply re-assign the button for it...

I did find THIS , which allowed me to add the ignition and start engine to a car mod that did not have it yet.
But it is quite the hassle ...

Hope something universal gets built into CSP some day , so we can have Ignition and Start Engine button work out of the box for ANY car mod (without the need to fiddle w each mod).

But we aren't talking about preferences here, we're talking about glaring omissions, basics that are reasonably expected when a track is released. Especially one that people have to pay for before they can even test it and discover what's missing. Expectations are generally higher with paymods for obvious reasons, but unfortunately they often come up short when compared to mods produced with passion rather than for financial gain.

I don't really understand what any of that has to do with workflow. It's an interesting discussion though, and I'm glad that people with differing opinions can discuss it respectfully in a civil manner. 👍
