Carl.
We didn't hear anything from Flavio here, but either Symmonds or his engineer was yelling at thim that there was absolutely no reason for him to be 2 seconds slower than Alonso mid-race... go faster!!!

Symmonds really looked exasperated in the pits, too.
No, that happened sooner than what I'm referring to. I heard all that part. I'm talking about five laps past that, Fisi still wasn't doing any better, and that's when Flavio got on his ass big time...

Fisi was very sick. He wasn't sounding good the day before, and said he got a bad cold/flu from the AC on the plane ride over. So, he wasn't in best racing form.

Ok, didn't hear that part. Might be entertaining to listen to, but I do agree that it's quite harsh on Fisi, especially since he's in no way responsible for starting from the back.

Perhaps they're starting to feel the loss for next year...

Well the BMWs did have really long pit stops , I'm really impressed with BMWs pace , congrats to all BMW fans out there :)

well thank you and same to you...hopefully our pace will quicken...pits were slow today, just didnt say anything before

sorry I ment stints (right spelling) , JV had a one stopper and Nick had 2 , the BMW can have good speed with a heavy fuel load :)

Yay, Villeneuve got 6th so that means 2 points. Kimi only got 2nd (was hoping for win..), but at least Villeneuve got 2 points and Scott Speed got a point too.

Feel bad for Button. :nervous:

6th is 3 points.

I think the renault garage are a bunch of truck drivers. That whole team is so mafioso.

Flavio-Flavvvv!: "più velocemente! Vacaga inutile!"
Fisi: "this is *f-bomb* *s-word (no, not sword, the 's' word.)*! *f-bomb*! [exit pit lane]

They should do a reality show.

no body commented on how JPM screwed up at the formation lap and in the race :D:D thats was funny lol

I'm just so gutted for Button. But never mind, since i think u guys have forgotten that he gets a new engine for Imola, which gives him a better chance than the others because theirs have aldreay done 1 race. :D

...and he doesn't get a 10-place penalty too. :D

One of the things that amazed me about the race , is how could DC take out 3 cars in the races with having any kind of damage to his car ??!!
the three cars are :
Trulli
Massa
Nico
doesn't he get some kind of penalty for this ??

It was a really really long day so I tried to stay awake for it... I happen to be awake for the start, then some of the incidents up until Schumi's crash then I crashed. :dopey:

Crazy race.

It was good fun to watch, but the safety cars flattered McLaren, I think. For the most part of the race Kimi couldn’t outpace Alonso. Still, in the end, I don’t think it changed things too much.

If the Midlands didn’t hold everybody up on the restarts then it could have been a cracking race for the win!

I was worried for Klien when the gravel trap didn’t seem to slow him down before he hit the tyre barrier—luckily the tyre barrier and the crash structure did their jobs.

Pitty about Nico and Massa at the start, but the Ferrari sandwhich was quite funny:

Was strange when Button had an engine failure on the last corner like that, but at least they’ll head to Imola (which is a track that Honda generally do well at) with a fresh engine and no grid penalties.

It was awesome having Murray Walker to help call the race this weekend. :D

Murray Walker called the race? WTF!

No fair.

At least we know what an engine failure looks like when the driver continues to accelerate on a busted motor. Flame-on!

I must say guys. I was at the GP this weekend, and was disappointed to find that the V8's are quite a bit softer then the V10s. Don't get me wrong, they're still bloody loud, but not up to last years levels.

I got quite a few nice pictures too I might post.

Scott Speed has lost his maiden F1 point after race stewards at Melbourne ruled he had passed David Coulthard under yellow flags and gained an unfair advantage. A 25-second penalty was added to the American's race time which promotes Coulthard into eighth and the final points place.

The stewards called both Coulthard and Speed before them after the race and Speed was not only given a 25-second penalty but was also fined $5,000 for using abusive language towards David Coulthard during the stewards hearing.

Haha, I love that:

Carl.
Was wondering, since the pace car almost got into the points... would that count for McLaren?

Hahaha 👍

Yeah that was great, aswell as all the interviews.

Omnis
What did you expect? They're smaller.
Yes. But I thought the increase of Revs might make them sound different/louder.

Anyway, here are some pictures if anybody is interested. Tell me what you think. The highlight of me weekend was when I was walking around and Montoya came past me on a scooter, honking and yelling at everyone in his way

Super Aguri: This is at turn 5, and this car was visibly slower then all the rest.

Ferrari

Toyota: Very Impressive...

Close up of Massa driving past me! (Kinda...After spearing off 20m away in qualifying)

That race was worth staying up till half 6 to watch. :)

I don't get why Button didn't cross the line, if the engine cut out then fair enough but I heard on ITV that he was told to stop so he could get a fresh engine. I'd much much rather have 3 points for 6th then a new engine in Imola, especially since that was a new engine that lit up in the race.

Montoya on the formation lap was bloody marvolous, shame he didn't finish, he could easially have had Kimi IMO. Massa had a productive weekend, Schumi was a passenger in his crash as soon as his Ferrari grew wings, Red Bull style.

Klien's crash was a bit strange, at first I thought it was suspension but no wheels came off the track before he collided with the wall so it could possibly have just been cold tyres.

Alonso made the win look so easy, I'm sure Midland will be getting their cheaques very soon.

And Rosberg's season doesn't get much better...

And the last time Schumacher had a crash was China last year when he bummed Albers...

Ah...I was wondering that. I was thinking maybe the fire scared the crap out of Jenson, and he bolted from the car.

Lokoing at the moving accident debris, it looked like one of the tires shredded off the rim. A slivery wheel rim, sans tire, could be seen bouncing to the driver's left side of the car, alongside the wall. He just turned right into the wall, in what appeared to be just before the braking zone for the right-hander.

I get the idea a tire punctured on debris, or someone could have hit him earlier.

I guess the only reasonable thing to do is to curse free of charge on behalf of the American losing his point. ****!

God, i feel bad for Scott Speed having his point revoked, although i must say after this race that i have grown a hate for the midland cars.(i mean they could have at least went with alonso and not hold Kimi up too much.)

But the surprise for me was seeing Liuzzi Easily pass Michael and then just drive off in the Rosso.

Also at one point the Super Aguri of Sato was doing well in 12th place before pitting, as long as Ide doesnt become a 'Rolling roadblock' then i forsee good things coming from the Aguri boys.

(i mean they could have at least went with alonso and not hold Kimi up too much.)

Have to remember that these blokes are newbies in old gear and there's no way in Satan's hell that they're going to keep up with the traction control of the Renault. :scared:

Got to admit to pounding the sofa and swearing at the Midlands to get out of the way so Kimi could get by, though. :banghead:

It wern't Midlands fault at all, Kimi was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, Kimi couldn't pass them untill the start finish line and Midland couldn't slow down to let him pass for the same reason.
