An entire page worth's of comments deleted as being nothing more than noise, and a few infractions. These types of threads (since there are at least a few a day) make it pretty easy for the staff.

I didn't think it needs to be said, but apparently it does: people can play their game however they want. They've paid for it just as you have. We are not here to tell them how to play it, and its laughable some people think that's okay.

The only reason I am not locking this is that we've had other "petitions" kept open in the past. Any AUP violations in this thread will be treated exactly the same way as any other thread; you don't like how a person plays, that's fine. Don't hurl insults. Any content-less posts (a single emoticon, a "+1" post) will be treated like the spam they are.

If people want to ruin the game for themselves they can go for it, I'll always feel better knowing I've earned all the cars they cheated to get.

Gifting has too many legitimate uses to get rid of completely though.

You just can't get past the "cheated" thing, can you? I just got done doing Indy for more than I want to admit, to attain 20 large. I will not repeat it in order to enjoy MY game, with the cars I would like to drive. Thank you very much.

LET. IT. GO.

I could see the duplicate cars being very helpful for tuning since we cant save multiple setups. 3 cars = 3 setups. I've got three duplicate cars just because of that. I bought 2 of them, but if I want a duplicate RM car, I am going to gift it to save some money.

Since I don't play online, it doesn't have any impact on anybody else's game. Come to think of it, I don't see how could even if I did play online.

Personally, I like to earn my own cars, but I hate having to pay tens of thousands of dollars because I want to max out my VW Bus and have some fun with it. It also bothers me that I can't take off performance parts and sell them to recover at least some of the money.

My workaround for this is to gift myself race tires, trannys & other more expensive parts so I don't have to waste cash on something I might use once or twice.

If you keep this open it should prevent someone else from making another one. I can't believe someone actually insulted a moderator after a warning. Made me laugh seeing that:) .

well guess what, its not about feeling better, its about enjoying what you paid for, i've gifted myself many cars, i've also done all the race apart from the stupid endurance races, not everyone wants to wate their life going round and round 1 track to earn 5, 10, 20 million credits for 1 car which they might end up not liking once purchased, the stupid pricing of the cars makes gifting a must for people who just want to enjoy the game rather than go online and show how important they think they are because they spent 15 hours grinding 1 track to buy a 20 mill car.

i use most of my gifted cars for photomode but i guess you would feel better if you took a photo of a car you grinded for 15 hours than the people taking photosof their cars they exploited

the cars should cost no more than 1 million credits, the game should be enjoyable not a chore, i would not buy this game for my kids knowing what i know about it, grinding is not productive, and forget about expecting my kids to race a 24hour race.

i dont have any kids btw

Why are you worried about how the next person chooses to play their game? Is it really a game breaking experience? You act as though this is a FPS or something. As many safe guards as there are in Online Mode to prevent "cheaters" from being successful, you want to prevent them in the offline world too? I don't get that. If you don't want guys lapping you 5 times in a race then set up your own and cap the HP and keep it moving.

Also, I paid $60 for an incomplete game. I'll be damned if they are gonna take features AWAY from the game... You must be out of your mind!

Strategy is the best way to do away with the grind. Although it will not totally do away with the grind, it will lessen the zzzzzzzzzz of it. If my friend wants to trade me a car so I can win a race and not have to spend all the dough to get what I need, then awesome. I'll return the favor. All this plays into the all important Strategy thing.

There is always a loophole in every game. If you choose to exploit it is totally your choice. You paid for it. It's yours. Not anybody else's. Trade on.

To me, the fun of the game is the "hunt" and that is why I love GT. Good for PD for thinking about the people who don't love the "hunt" and want to fast track the game. +1 :sly:

If they lower the price for cars and make it so that you don't have to grind for xp or credits then this if fine. Until then this better not happen. I don't have the time for grinding.

Didn't someone here say it would be removed in the next update? What's that about? Search finds it but I can't see it anywhere on the message list. Was it in the grammar bomb post?

If you don't like gifting don't do it. Some people do like having it. Who are you to dictate how others must play the game?

I totally agree, I have 2ps3 and 2 copies of GT5, the second ps3 I bought specifically for GT5 and that is all it runs 24/7 the original ps3 now purely runs -b-spec so I can buy and gift myself more cars...

To me as an owner of 2 consoles and copies of the game I find the gifting being limited to one car a day extremely frustrating...

I want to build cars and give them to mates that don't have the time to play like I do why the hell should I be only able to gift one car a day let alone multiples...

I'll give you the hot tip

Earning cars the hard way is purely for YOUR own personal satisfaction...

No one cares if you (anyone) some random on the internet won a car by beating a challenge...💡

Hell that's half the reason I removed my in game progress from my Sig FFS....

This?

I don't really care. It will be removed in the next update anyway, so why even worry about it. You don't need a petition.

There is no confirmation of this, at all. A few users have it in their heads that it will be, that's it.

Give it up with all these petitions, please. It's been said OVER and OVER, PD has NO OFFICIAL CONNECTIONS HERE. Your petitions are a waste of time. If you are that angry and pissed over a feature that's included or not included, send them a message directly. Also, if you don't like it, don't use it, simple. Don't cry to the world over it.

TC's petition isn't useless. He's just expressing his opinion on a feature that he is displeased with due to how other users exploit it. This is far from a waste of time from a post. He has every right to BAWWWW over this.

The OP should probably start with an email to PD. They gave away high end stealth cars during the pre-sale. Clearly, they were encouraging the use of overpowered cars during early races. And since those wins compiled weren't "earned" in the traditional sense, so those users are morally bankrupt. 2011 is looking grim.

I think you miss the point of the Stealth car's they are for enthusiast's who have been there and done the grinding many many times before in earlier GT's to get in and get to the good stuff faster...

Possibly in a better world where A-Spec was online and ranked your "morally bankrupt" comment may hold some weight in today's environment it does not...

If you pay the price you get the bonus to make the grind easier simple...it is by no mean's cheating...

You people need to get a grip...

and like some one else said earlier in the thread learn to share, gift someone a car you built cause it makes you feel good, don't expect anyone to give you anything back enjoy the gift of giving...

I love getting a call from a mate in the morning when I have built and painted them a car, and they say "Man that's awesome I wouldn't be able to afford that for ages, Thanks"

Personally I believe you should get an extra gift ticket per 10 lvl's upto a max of 5 @ Lvl 40...

Now that would be a GOOD idea!

Infact that give's me an idea for a new Petition right there! 💡

For people like you OP who don't want gifting let's be smart and give you the option to turn gift's off as clearly if you don't want to "Give" a gift you sure as hell wouldn't want to "Receive" one right?

and that is a constructive solution for gifters and non-gifters (greedy lil pricks) alike...

Gifting can still be an option there is nothing wrong with gifting.

One thing they need to do is make it so you have to be the right level in order to use certain cars.

Or you have met all of the conditions to use these cars.

x1 for exmaple - if you beat the event you can use x1 or if you are lvl 40 and bought one.

Maybe its too hard but if the car is lvl 24 then you have to grind 24 to use it, you can still gift cars but your friends wont be able to use them untill they level.

If you really want to help your friend buy a car their lvl and tune it to the max.

There are a lot of options but I think they no longer care, we can only hope they do something or care enough to do something.

If it was up to me I would just wipe all dupes I am sure there is a way. So tired of lvl 20s eneting rooms on carbon x1 and bragging how awsome they are in their little whiny voice. Some of my friends got duped carbon x1 and offered it to me, but I dont even want it anymore because it lost value, just look in the trading section all you see is x1 this and x1 that.

If you try the event and beat it there is no way you jsut gona give it away like that ...its hell to earn that car or even other cars which go for 15-20mil not a whole lot of people can afford these rides so early in the game but here they are from civic they jump to 20 mil ride at lvl 10.

I remember i won blue x1 back when it was still rare man it was awsome, now its a joke and half.

Cheating is cheating but oh well too late now i guess.

I'm sure PD didn't have this in mind when they released the latest patch. Asking for confirmation that this GLITCH will be removed, is like robbing a bank and asking for confirmation that the cops are looking for you.

Um... No.

If you don't like it, don't use it.

Exactly.

And where does this mentality come from anyway? I'm seeing it a lot lately. Why do some people insist on restricting others from doing something that doesn't even affect them?

Like i've said in another thread it is clearly obvious who has and hasn't gained an X1 whether it is from completing the Vettel challenge in A-spec or reaching L.35 in B-spec or buying one at L.40, much aside from the user's level, there are trophies the user will have...and ultimately you will find, No one care's but You (and that's what life's about)...You...

Trophies are where the men are separated from the boy's...not some flight of fancy car that realistically no human could actually drive to it's potential however theoretically possibly engineering such a car maybe, a human still needs to be able to drive it...

One fake car (x2010) that could be seen largely as a sneaky marketing / advertising scheme by Redbull, should not affect the ability to gift car's (of a higher level or not) to friends...

Simple...

ex·ploit (ksploit, k-sploit)
n.
An act or deed, especially a brilliant or heroic one. See Synonyms at feat1.
tr.v. (k-sploit, ksploit) ex·ploit·ed, ex·ploit·ing, ex·ploits
1. To employ to the greatest possible advantage <- = Human Nature

My stance is, everyone deserves to drive any car they wish to drive in the game.
Gifting allows me and my friends to do just that.
Who are you to say whether gifting cars via the glitch is wrong? nothing personal here just a loud statement.
I strongly love the idea of being able to share cars this way... it gives everyone the chance to own every car which are in the game.
Everyone deserves that, some of us dont have the time to sit there and work hard at it to attain them. I have the time but some others dont...
Besides, its entertaining to watch my friends try to drive the X1 :)

It's also fun to tune up my VW Kharman Ghia to drift, then duplicate it to my friend so we can do some drift tandems with VW's and other weird cars (like the Subaru 360, Daihatsu Midget, Fiat 500, VW Beetle Standard, VW Kubelwagen, Toyota Sports 800, and others)

There you go.... 👍

I dislike people that think they deserve more than others... some of us have a family and other commitments, should that stop me from driving an x1 or FGT? Thats what gifting is now... SHARING.

We all paid the price for the game :)

If you worked more, you'd expect more pay than someone else right? I worked my butt off just to get a Red Bull X2010. why should someone who worked less get what i can't...

If(and this is a big IF) it wasn't for the exploits making the rounds now, maybe 1% of the people that have carbon X2010's would actually have them and none would part with it especially since there is only one in the game...

If you consider playing a game work there are much bigger issues than people sharing cars in a game.

I'll sign this one i don't mind hard work in games for reward. (was a wow player lol) I guess its a case of "OMG in NFS and FM I get the cars in less than 2 hours!! faceroll111!!!"

Keep the 1 car a day gift limit but lock the backup saves to 5 a month, after the 5th save backup corruption!!

The thing is: if you turn a game into work, then you've missed the point of this being a GAME. A GAME is meant to be FUN, not WORK. It seems a lot of people think that because they worked in something that doesn't matter that they deserve more. You don't. I don't care how much more (most likely LESS) time you spend in the game compared to me. A "holier than thou" attitude will not make you ANY friends.

I'll say this one more time: If you are turning a game into work, then put the game down, because you have missed the point of it being a game.

Like Sony would change their console firmware just to thwart people in one game, that would ruin save game backups for just about every other game. Some people on this forum crack me up.

It's a damn game lol.

All that 'have meaning of ownership' crap gets thrown out the window in a few months any way, when everyone has progressed through the game.

All the cars I have in my garage, I grinded for. But I could careless if I worked hard for it or not, 'cause at the end of the day, it's just a damn game.

You couldn't be more wrong. The Thread title is a specific request to stop a feature that some users are exploiting. In other words anyone in favour of this wants to be able to dictate how someone else should be allowed to play their own game.

My opposition to this can be stance can be summed up in one statement.

No one has the right to tell me how I should play my game

This comment in your post wins the thread HANDS DOWN.

I pat you on the back you won the Carbon *claps hands*

Oh wait...

Dude....as I've said previously here and elsewhere....

NO ONE CARES!!!

Gifting is about sharing with people not chest beating about cars...

Kaz announced someone finished the game in A-Spec on the 9th of December...

after that thre initial "rush" to be the best was over...
