The money is easy enough to make - if you're totally lazy you can have your B-spec guys do the Dream Car Championship for a million credits each time, just checking in every 20 minutes to start another race.

The reason I like gifting is solely because 80% of the cars in the game are in the used car dealership, and even though you may have plenty of money to buy what you want, you may have to check that thing every 5 races for days and days until the car you want shows up.

Gifting is all about relieving the tedium. And that tedium is pointless. It doesn't require any skill to check the UCD 100 times looking for a particular car. It's just a pain in the butt.

I really like gifting. Sharing cars with your friends is one of the best bits of the game. And the grind is really annoying for those of us with only small amounts of time to play.

Gifting and the unlocked save file are great. Bravo PD.

And you aren't going to tell anyone how to play their game.

if people couldnt gift,i would be stuck and so would a lot of people,waiting days if not weeks for a car to show in dealership

and ive still not got half the cars i wont because ive still not seen them yet
 
The points made against duping & gifting seem to revolve around the idea that you only want people to be able to race cars they have either had the time to grind for or 'earn' if you like. BUT who the 🤬 are you going to race them against?

Let's say for example you have 'earned' your x1, but you enter an unrestricted race where no one else has an x1. Would you actually enter the race in your X1? Do you think that would be a good race? A worthy victory?

No it wouldn't would it.

So it is actually in your interests to have more people own an x1 so that you have someone to actually race the car against. Unless you prefer it to rot in the garage or just overpower all competition.

In fact just because someone has not reached the required (and completely artificial) xp level to purchase or win an x1 doesn't mean they wouldn't be able to thrash you soundly in a fair race in any particular car.

So one more time for the fools - the ONLY measure of skill in this game is winning competetive races. Whether it is in fiat 500s or x2010s

The best way to increase competetive races is to have a wider availability of cars to race for the player base, so that it is easier to match your vehicles to achieve a meaningful result.

OP seems to prefer platformers to skill based gaming I guess.

We all payed the same price for the game but we obviously did not pay the same price to ear some of these cars.

This is console gamer mentality = cheat and get away with it.

Duping or exploiting on pc mp games has always always resulted in a ban or patch to fix the issue and often punish cheaters.

Always wanted to drive ferrari in rl but im broke maybe i should go ask one of the owners if he will dupe me one. Let you know how that goes.

Also some of you are right this is a waste of time, people dont understand the meaning of a petition. You ether sign or get the hell out.

At this point all car value is 0, and I dont blame cheaters its really the developers fault they should have seen it coming.

Extremely flawed example. You cannot dupe a car out of nothing in RL.

You all begged PD to unlock the savefile, so they did... Because of that, i lost 100+ hours of progress and 250 cars that i paid for with my in-game cash, and time spent working the marketplace. If it wasn't for duplication, i probably would have never played this game again. In less than a week of trading i have acquired all my primary cars, and then some.

Nobody is ever going to sign this. Nobody except whiny little brats who want to knock other people's hustle... You like to drive around indy 5,467 times? Well i like to spend my time in the marketplace hunting down that elusive car i've been looking for. Completing a trade is much more satisfying then making left hand turns on Indy. But you wont see me making petitions to ban grinding, will you...

You all need to hop down off of your ivory towers, build a damn bridge, and GET. OVER. IT. If you dont like it, then play the game how you want to play it, but don't you dare try to dictate how i play MY game that I paid for with my own money.

The part where they are able to tune the gears on a car they definitely should not have and accellerate faster than my 'RB' get it 'RB' one more time 'RED BULL' X2010 which 'CANNOT HAVE THE GEARS TUNED'. Getting gold in X2010 challenge isn't a grind buddy, two laps is hardly that. More an acknowledgment of your skills.

PS: The person that beat me in a car that is exploited is unfair, yes.

Sorry but I'm happy with the gift system. I only lend/borrow cars with people I know and if someone wants to "cheat" then they are are more than welcome too, as it won't effect me.

You paid your money for the game, so play it how you wish.

I've got a 98% record on GT4. I have darn well earned my right to duplicate whatever car I want in that game to go free-lapping in without using up my supply of 10.0 km used cars and Black Beauties.

Here's the flaw in your analogy: Car duplication doesn't result in any unfair advantage for the player doing it in the multiplayer portion of GT5.

Unlike World of Warcraft, you can't buy a magical item that will make you a PVP God. You still have to follow the rules and limitations of the game room (hint: any limitations at all = no X1s), and you still have to drive the wheels off your car to win a race.

GT5 is not an online multiplayer RPG. It's a single-player game that allows multiplayer. In other words, more like Half-Life 2 than WOW. No matter how you "cheat" your way through Half-Life 2, you're still going to get your behind handed to you when you get online by a player who's better than you.

WoW is an MMO and a bad example. You want to use a good example try Diablo games. You must be bad at cheating, ever herd or aimbot and walhack in HL2? Or all of the CS hacks? Stop talking if you dont know please.

Duping your cars is an exploit. This game has mp feature this means I can dupe my x1 unlimited amount of times and use it to trade for whatever I want. You ever herd of diablo 2? I hope you did, it is the SOJ economy when dupes broke out the game went to ****. And bliz deleted dupes and other times baned accounts. That is jsut one example You can do whatever you want in single player game but when it comes to mp its a whole diffrent story.

Another Example Diablo 1 when the save file was stored on players pc what happend next? Invincible hack in online aspect of the game.

I expect that we will be able to resign ID locked GT5 saves soon so you can use them on another account like you can on Xbox 360.
 
I hope gifting stays in the game, I've completed most of the A-Spec races now and am just trading cars with mates as there are loads in the game I don't own but wish to try out.

I'd actually like them to take trading further, I'd love it if we could all set up our own used car dealers online with all the cars we don't need or want, then people could either pay for them or offer trades, it'd be great!
 
I won't sign your petition. And I would appreciate it very much, if you please mind your own business and stop telling others how they should play their game.

I like to work for my cars and XP.

If other people like to have a Veyron from day one to use in the sunday cup that is their loss.
I think they are better of playing the Arcade mode or maybe even another game.

And for the grinding.
What is the problem? Do you mean you'll never play a race for fun? is at a chore?
To me it's not, if played de Super GT series at least 10 times now and still love it.
specially Sasuka in the rain is a challenge if you use an older generation GT car.

But that maybe I'm a bit strange ;)

Totally agree. Some people forget the fun of playing Gran Turismo.
Now, for the overpriced cars and fixes, plus not being able to sell most cars, I would gladly sign so it gets fixed. But then again, everyone is free to play the game how they prefer.
 
Signed........ game became meaningless with the open ended data save. There's zero appreciation now and no one has to earn anything at all. Also, credits and earning money to buy cars is meaningless too.

Games already going for avg $30 on Craigslist here. Give it another month and this forum will be a ghost town, lol. Such a shame.

At least the players can't cheat on levels. They will still need to invest the time. Which I see many simply not doing since grinding to them serves no interest.

who the hell cares for car value apart from people with no lives? i gifted myself a mazda 787b because i love it, i love driving it, i love creating a track and then driving my mazda 787b or whatever car i didnt care to waste my life grinding for and just drive aoround the track enjoying it, but i gues the car has zero value now so i might just go buy a ford focus

Actually, there is a huge gray area in a petition, it's not just black or white. You're saying either sign or don't, which is true, but there's also the action of getting others to agree with you, and that's where the concept of a forum comes into play. Yes, you have every right to petition. No, you do not have the right to dictate whether or not we can tell others why we are (or are not) signing it.

As far as this thread goes, if you like the idea of gifting, then gift. If you don't, then don't! I'm against duplicating, so I don't do it. But why should I care if others do? I'll still trade with them, but I just don't want to do dupe my car in the process because I like the realistic side of losing something in a trade for another thing that I want more. Just play the game how you want to, don't tell the other users how to play because when it comes down to it, it really doesn't effect you.

the game was almost meaningless from release from a career mode point, there was no gratification from winning races because not only is the prize credits poor not only canyou not re-win the prize car but it is also irrelevant to progression and not only that but they are mostly a bag of crap (midget anyone? how about midget in bspec too?) but they are also nearly exclusivley standard models, i didnt buy this game for ps2 cars! your view is strictly from a pissing contest view because its about how others view it, why cant you just enjoy this game? or is having a certain car that no one else have an extension of your manhood even if you dont really enjoy that car?

yes earning 20 million credtis to buy 1 car was such a great idea in the 1st place, do you know what the people who use the save back up exploit can do now? yes thats right! they can now do what they paid their hard earned on this game to do, ENJOY IT wow what a great idea, you should try it
