I'm going to reinstall the game, and see if it works before the 1.12 patch.

A before and after might be worth a try. When the key is encrypted, it shows up encrypted in the registry.

Well, Looks like I have to manually remove all traces of the program from the registry, it seems if the uninstaller isn't working.... So, looks like I'm gonna have to do it manually. :banghead:

And the Key shows up normally in the registry.

Haha, you are always the top sniper though. :)
I had my first BF2 RAGE quit today...so proud. I just hate a lot of people. I reached 8,000 points (haven't yet been promoted) so tomorrow i should be gunnery sergeant. Hello support unlocks :D

Hoorah, I finally got it working! :D I reinstalling (even having to do it manually, a lot of registry work) worked, I guess.

I was doing better than I thought last night, actually GETTING sniper kills (I suck at sniping in every other game)

DQuan or any other UK/European people up for a game of BF2 next weekend, or maybe even a game of SF.

I'm the exact opposite...In CS i can awp someone quite quickly (not as quick as some, but quick enough to get most), or stalk them and hit them from far away...in BF2 I really cannot hit ****. Even with the M95. :(

Sniping in BF2 and CS are very different animals though. In BF2 you really have to apply a level of skill, leading targets, compensating for bullet drop etc. I never really noticed these effects in CS. I for one am glad though that sniping isn't easy in BF2 because it means that there aren't loads of people sniping all the time as in CS and it's very rare that i'll actually get killed by a sniper. I'm the same as you, i can't hit anything in BF2 unless the target is stationary or near-stationary.

The maps in CS are fairly smaller. Most of the sniping I do in BF2 is from a pretty good distance.

I find hitting targets that are moving alot easier with the SVD then any other bolt-action rifle. Most likely because I don't lose the enemy when I get out of the scope mode to reload, unlike the SVD or Type 88.

BF1942 and its mods made being a sniper just like CS and CS: Source. But I am also glad it is more hard to kill while being a sniper in BF2, in the DC mod. I was mainly a sniper and loved jumping about then getting a headshot kill lol.

I made it to 8000 just yesterday :D Unlocked the Jackhammer and the PKM 👍 Found that the Jackhammer performs better than the DAO at close range, so might start being Engineer more often now. The PKM is great fun, but slow, i'm not a big support fan.

What did you unlock D to the Vipizzle?

And i believe it's "But I am also glad it is harder to kill whilst being a sniper in BF2." No? :p

[edit] Ewww double post, sorry.

Yeah the first medic unlock is pretty good, it was my first unlock. As i have Special Forces though i tend to use the SF medic unlock more than the BF2 medic unlock.

The only weapon i haven't unlocked now from BF2 is the M95. If there was a better sniper rifle in SF that was unlockable i'd be interested, but the M95 just doesn't float my boat.

Has anyone been frequently losing connection to servers recently, or is it just me? I seem to get kicked off once every few games because my connection just dissappears, can't explain it. Really annoying as i lose all of the points i've made!

I was under the impression that there is only one unlock per character. Am I wrong?

When you say "the first medic unlock", it confuses me slightly.

You can unlock more weapons if you have the Special Forces add-on. So each time i get promoted i get 2 unlocks and can chose to unlock any of the original BF2 unlocks or i can select a Medic, Engineer, Support, Assault, or Special Forces (so no sniper or AT) unlock from the Special Forces add-on. You can only unlock a SF weapon if you have already unlocked the BF2 weapon for that class. For instance if you wish to unlock the FN F2000 (Assault class) from the Special Forces add-on you have to have already unlocked the G3 from BF2.

Pretty confusing to explain really.

The SF Medic unlock is a G36E which is very similar to the BF2 Special Forces unlock but can only shoot in single or 3 shot. Powerful, fast and accurate though, a nice gun.

When you get special forces, you get the weapons in there as second unlocks for BF2 (apart from sniper and AT, they don't get any, but they'll hopefully get new weapons when the 1.2 patch comes out).

So you're a bunny hopper then?

EDIT: Beat me to it Don...

I'm confused about how you actually unlocok any weapons in the first place... :dunce: Someone care to explain?

You earn points for killing enemies (2pts), causing lots of damage to them and having someone else finish them (1pt), reiving teammates(2pts), healing them(1pt), blowing up stuff (2pts) and repairing things (1pt, I think). Once you have enough points you can unlock a weapon when you move up a rank(Apart from the first 2 ranks, you get nothing).

When I turn to gunnery sergeant I think i'm going to hold off on unlocking the engineer unlocks and see what the patch will bring for the Anti-Tank class because I still am fond of that kit.

I didn't realise there was a new AT unlock coming along! :grumpy: Not gonna be able to unlock weapons forever now - 20,000 points.

Any news on what it could be?
