NOTES: I tried to tame this car as much as possible without taking too much of the high speed edge off of it. Around Monaco after about 20 laps I manged to get a 1:38.301, and it could definitely go faster with a better driver, but I intended on making this car more drive able for everyone, but that doesnt make it slow.

    FITT Blind Tuning Challenge

    The Duel: Reviews
    by @biffa3 :

    Tuner 4
    Time - 1:11:120
    DC - 8.5
Nice stable tune with good turn in and rotation. Easy to throw into corners. Good effort.

    by @TurnLeft :

    Tuner 4 - RX8 Type S ’07 - Jaune Sirius

1:10.788 - DC.8.2 - What can I say, I love this car, rotates well, has just enough grip, forgives me from over pushing it. great job. First run time was 1:10.800. I think that on a perfect lap by me it would be 1:10.450 . Sorry I couldn’t do it because I really was aiming for that, just kept making mistakes at the wrong time.

    by @Lionheart2113 :

    Tuner 4 RX-8
    Time: 1:10.920
    DC Score: 9.5
A car like this is why you drive! I really liked that this car suited the driver, if you are average, it will stay under you and give you confidence lap after lap. Push it more and it will gladly agree. This car can be wicked fast in the hands of better drivers.

    by @Otaliema :

    Tuner #4 - RX-8 Tune

    Laptime;1:12.342 DC;6.5

Impression of the tune; This was a grip monster. But that was double edged sword, it had loads of grip right upto the limit then nothing. So driving a the limit was a bit tricky as you be fine fine fine sliding with no notable warning from the car. If I got everything right it was a great drive would carve up the corners like butter, but on the same token, if I took anything than the line it wanted, I found myself struggling to make the turn. Maybe a little looser and it would have been fantastic.

    by @mgo :

    Tuner #4
    Time – 1:10:905 DC 9.6
This tune match my driving - was very easy to handle – when I got use to it fleet really nice and fun to push the car to the limits

    by @DolHaus :

    Tuner #4
    1:10.103
    DC - 8.5

    Turn 1+2
-Fast and precise but on a knife edge all the time, one wrong move and you either lost the front end and ended up in the wall or lost the rear andended up facing back the way you came. Needs to be pushed to be fast but is completely unforgiving while doing so.
    Turn 3+4
-A little bit skatey and had a habit of letting the rear come around but not too bad. A general trait of this car is never really knowing what you were going to get in terms of response while pushing.
    Turn 5+6
-The car felt kind of heavy and stiff through here but was quite capable once you got used to it. It could get a bit loose on the exit to turn 6 if you clipped the curb but no worse than any other car on test.
    Turn 7+8+9
-A little bit nervous and floaty through this faster section, entirely manageable and quite precise but failed to inspire confidence.
    Turn 10
-Good rotation but again nervous and slightly skittish. This car has a lot of potential but its just too all or nothing to be fun, I feel if it was just a little bit more forgiving it would miles easier to string a good lap together.

    by @nijalninja :

    Tune #4: RX8

    DC: 9.5
Best time: 1:10.048 (I have no idea how I managed it though)

Excellent car; I really loved it. The gears were near on perfect as they were an improvement on tune #3. I find it hard to compliment this car because of it's largely mechanical feeling. There are no immediate problems with the car, and likewise; there are no things that really spark my interest in it either. The one thing I can say is that I have never felt such control in my life: I actually stopped at one point to check if I had for some reason moved the TCS up to 1 or 2 it was that good. If I could name this car I would call it "Ole Faithful". I was also amazed at how fast it was.

Conclusion: Great car. EXTREMELY FAST. I wish I had more words to describe it.

    by @Wydopen :

    Tune #4 1.11.504 DC score 9.5

This car felt just as good as #3 to me and was very easy to drive at the limit. The gearbox was outstanding and fit the track very well. If I were to change anything, I would try to iron out the slight tendency for corner exit understeer. Overall, a great tune.

    by @macdog54 :

    Tune 4.# DC 8.5
    Mazda RX8. 1.10.770

What can I say, another car that does all that is asked of it, safe, stable and great traction, full throttle could be used in most places without wheel spin, good work.

    by @LordJCS :

    Tune#4 RX-8

    Best lap: 1:10.720
    DC: 9,5

I goofed on this one at first. Managed to run it with standard trans for the most part of the test and hit 1:11.173
and thought it was an odd choice of having standard gears on a rotary considering the narrow power band.

Had a quick look and noticed it WAS supposed to have a custom tranny setup i face palmed and shook my head in disbelief. I must be getting old..

Anywho... On with the custom tranny setting and set off on track. And just like that i was in the 1:10 territory.

The car now handled like a dream. Just point it where you want to go and off it goes. Nice job on this tune, really solid.

    Tuner # 4 RX-8
    Best Lap CS: 1:16.012
    Best Lap SH: 1:13.214
    DC Score: 9
Comments: On CS tires, the car feels very similar to tuner # 3's tune except it does not seem to have as much acceleration.
On SH tires, very good corner attack speed and handling, but the acceleration cannot compete coming into the straights.

This was a really good tune, and without knowing who's it was, he managed to use the same paint as I did on my RX-8 for the Duel Class. Here is my review of the tune during testing:

    Tuner #1: BRZ
    Lap time - 55.549
    DC - 8.5

Quick, very quick, and easy to be consistent. Smooth on exit but with power understeer most notable on the final corner. Nice tune, nice job. :)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Keep in mind, almost all the tunes for GT300 class had an issue with power understeer on the final corner. Easy drive and surprising how smooth and fun it is. Well Done @nijalninja :D

Lap time Average - 2nd (+0.233 behind first)
    DC - 3rd

    Both very respectable finishes indeed.:dopey:

I didnt know that it was 2nd in the average time, and 3rd in DC. That is awesome.

Thanks for the review by the way.

Thank you very much. I was hoping to do well in the DC scoring most of the way, and I never really thought that it would do that well in the average lap times. I admit I was really surprised at doing so well, especially since I had never really tuned any kind of race car before.

Anyway, you sir did extremely well with your tune, and I might have to give to a go as well.

NOTE: Not the fastest car and only as fast as the Sunfire GXP which left me a little dissappointed. Can help win credits in Seasonals if looking for a car that is NOT overkill but still fun. This car is always in my garage for every GT game. The first car I ever bought in a GT game was the Prelude VTEC '94 back in the original. Sadly, it was last seen in GT2, but I alway make sure a buy and build one.;)

I have also redone both the Sunfire GXP (changed from 400pp to 450pp) and the MG TF160. Both have been updated and hopefully more enjoyable, definitely faster.;)

And a few more coming, but no promises to how good they are.;)

Not bad at all for 450pp, the fastest FF at 450 that I have done. Try it and give your feedback, just be honest and not afraid to tell me what you really think.:dopey:

You can't beat a good Type-R! It looks so good sitting there. :)

If I promise to give it back with no scratches or dents, with a full tank of gas and a fresh set of rubber....
Can I have a shot too?

Oh, while I'm here. Congratulations both of you guys for your respective podiums in the FITT: Blind Tuning Challenge! [IMG] Nice win there Mr Bowtie! And a good solid second @nijalninja. I see you guys cleaned up the place well after your victory party. You should recommend your maid service to @Brewguy44 :D

Bowtie muscle I forgot to mention this earlier, but your tune for the Blind tuning comp was amazing. Although in my review I just could not find what I liked about it. I just couldnt not find the words to describe it, and I still cant, but believe me it was an awesome car that I would definitely use in races to come. It was extremely fast too.

Seriously the car had so much grip that I could not quite comprehend it.

Incredible fast for a FF car... Just noticed a bit of understeer in mid-corner acceleration... :)
