Is anyone else having a problem with grid freezing and your save data going corrupt

Offline, my game will occasionally freeze, forcing me to restart the console. Haven't had any save data troubles though...

I haven't played Grid 2 a long time ago but are these free DLC cars enough to compete with the others???

From what I gather the free cars can't be used online. Actually, some of the DLC cars (the Super Modified pack at least) can't be used in playlist lobbies. Which seems pretty stupid since you can use the SLR 722 GT and MP4-12 GT3... I haven't tried yet with the Drift Pack cars so I don't know.

Anyway, I haz discovered that Brands Hatch Indy has a fantastic bump in the road... which is fun in the middle of a transition... :sly:

Peoples of GTP, please add me if you're looking for a race.

Hitting up the Codies forums, apparently the problem with using DLC cars online is that the game only updates with a compatibility pack when you download the free car from a pack - basically, people are choosing not to download this free update, meaning that DLC is not compatible in public playlists. The worst part is that Codies could fix this all with a mandatory update for everyone... geez.

That bump is killing me on this weeks global, the AGERA R gets mad air if you don't hit it right. Am taming the beast tho :)

Wow. I haven't really watched much Grid 2 stuff and I don't have it, but I want it. But after seeing the drifting, I don't honestly know if I want it.

That was the Agera R, which does have 1,100bhp (before you've even upgraded it :scared: ), so the sideways nature is understandable

This is typical of most of the street cars. Move up to the racier ones, like the Atom, Caterham SP300R, GT3s, and the Belgian Super Touring Cars, and drifting becomes less of a tendency for them. You'll still need to drift to go fastest though; it lets you scrub off speed into corners.

This is a power lap not drifting, the AGERA R is just to hot to handle. Just beat time 33.776 new world record. GRID 2 is well worth getting loving the globals

Have you upgraded yours yet? If so, what sort of costs does it entail? :nervous:

Yes did upgade's, not sure on cost. I did find the upgrade's on the bugatti not up to much only half a second faster around BRANDS HATCH INDY without 36.506 with 36.003 was very disappointed really.

On a track with longer straights I imagine the upgrades would have an effect. Brands is a tight circuit that rewards acceleration and handling more than top speed.

If we're to release some new tracks it'll likely be circuits ;)

Nice! What kind of wheel & pedals are u using?

Thanks, holding down all power laps on RaceNet this week, few hours to go yet tho. I use the G27 wheel settings 0, 30, -3, 0, 50, 100, on. Not really tested wheel settings as such, this just felt right for me.

I think I should try playing GRID 2 using my DFGT...I don't know if my lap times will improve since I am, and will forever be...well, mostly be a complete noob with a steering wheel.

I never feel settled when I connect my steering wheel to the PS3 or PC, think I need to invest in a seat and surrounding structure. I then race at my local sim centre with fully enclosed formula style monocoques and I'm right at home. Same with their "GT Zone" which uses a basic playseat.

I think I'm constantly under the belief that I will turn the wheel, and bring its base with me. That or I will push the pedals and the whole thing will be pushed away from my seat...

It is pretty fun with the DFGT. Maybe makes it feel more arcade than the G27 but really fun.:) Sorry to see about your data loss. Knowing you your levels will climb very fast.

I loved Grid. But Grid 2 is an automatic non purchase for me, for one reason: no cockpit view. I HATE driving games where you feel like a disembodied head flying along the track. At least with a cockpit view theres a sense of 'being there'. And dont get me started on the above n behind 3rd person view. That 'Outrun' viewpoint is dated, stupid, and does not belong in modern racing games.

But that's a hard standpoint. Take burnout Paradise city. Came with my PS3, still got it and is one of my favourite games of all time. I must have spent at least 500 hours on that. Playing that game was such fun. Yet no cockpit view. Does NFS Shift automatically become a better game because it has a cockpit? Hell no, but everyone's allowed their own opinion.

Funny you say that. I switched from my T500RS with 320 mm rim to the G27 and it feels totally arcade. But it fits the arcade physics of GRID 2 quite well so it kind of get me less serious about it and being able to have more fun lol.

Also the slag ffb effects which is not real ffb effects just bi effects of the cogs slag make it feel more alive. These butter smooth roads and floaty driving model otherwise give no road feel. A common issue with a lot of arcade racers. A better wheel show off the faults better too.

Also of course with all the drifting that´s easier with a 270 mm rather then a 320 mm rim to throw the wheel around.

Anyway I am having fun with the start of the career. Cockpit view yes it´s missed it give personality to the cars as well as the physics. I am not one that runs behind my car with some remote control. That is where I draw the line :)

Graphics look great I can max it out on my modest GTX 580 at 1080p and can´t remember ever seeing so much detail flying by.

Anyway my first impressions was really negative partly from running to good gear. However mostly I think it´s the same issue as with the original that this totally suck whenever you get to real race cars and real tracks when you start to think about how this cars actually are and physics and odd AI to much. I am sure this game has a lot of total turds as well but it would be booring if all cars behaved the same :)

Good fun so far.

So, the 32MB 1.02 patch just arrived. From what I've seen, the "WIN/LOSE" text in Touge and Faceoff modes Online were taken out, and doesn't show up for someone until they finish.

I am mostly indifferent about this update, but what do you guys think about it? And if there's anything from this update I'm missing, what is it?

Adrian: Nice video! I'd like to see another when you have the time.
