There are people who possess a rare talent of being able to know the driving line before you even get on to track, the first time, so I wanted to know who possess this strange talent.
(I do)

It varies for me. I'm better at racing than time trials, so if other cars are around I'll be competitive.

For knowing the driving line on a track that I've never been on before, then that is a definite for me as I can 'draw' out a line in my head as I go along. The one thing I don't like about most course creator tracks is the sudden elevations with poor visibility, making me overshoot corners that are directly on a hill because the car lifts up off the ground leaving me with no control over the car.

If the course creator tracks had better visibility, more visual reference points on-track and less sudden elevation changes that lift the car off the ground then I wouldn't mind custom made tracks. For now, I avoid them whenever possible.

I think I have this. I notice that I'll be in rooms where I finish in 4th or 5th regularly, but if a randomly generated course pops up then I'll beat the same guys by about 3 or 4 seconds a lap. I just zoom the track map out a little and I'm able to judge what speeds the different corners will be at. Same thing with the GT Academy time trials. It only takes me 2 or 3 laps to get gold. I LOVE random tracks. Always vote for them. lol

Agree'd,it's the absence of brake markers for corners that baffle me,but i too am lucky enough to have this skill, but i honestly think most of the line predicting we do is dependant on driving skill.

Nope. The random elevation paired with awkward, sharp bends catch me out every time. Although, I think it also depends on how much work has been put into the track. For example, I raced a touge track online that the room host had worked on for a long time, it was a great track without the odd corners, and I won a couple of races. While the quickly done Mt. Aso tracks are near impossible for me to run a clean line.

It usually takes 20 min. to get it right but I really hate those tracks.
Too many blind corners, 1 or 2 per track is perfect but as soon you increase the sharpness you end with 17 blind corners on your track, I dont really blame the developers, less than ps3 capacities in this case.

Agreed, I have raced with TCR (we are almost out of our summer break) The creators there put a lot of effort and time into each track and it shows. Lovely lines (it just flows and therefore is naturally driven) and the track always stays a challenge.

Not really because they are a bit difficult especially when you are suppose to know the tracks on GT5,I hope that track creator does not appear on GT6 and instead, they should have more tracks(Both original and Real world).

Usually i can finish near the podium on an unfamiliar track. A friend of mine dominates on these but his secret is using driving line "on". It's a question of who uses this option.

It would be ncie if they had a bit more track furniture kicking about to help- But I would really like a tight narrow, short forward distance track - Like a Forest Rally Stage.

The cresting corners are a bit too savage, But if you get the tall trees or a timin gantry on the corner exit then it really does help out learning the track. But after a half dozen steady sighting laps you shouldn't really be getting caught out.

It would be nice if the driving line (Fake Arcade glowing) was more of an oily rubber racing groove - It could even be placed onto the track after you best clean lap. (Just a replay lap... so just a data string relative to placement on the track and how much lateral tyre load and braking load (So darker more rubber down areas).

I run with NO ABS - so I leave big dirty lock up marks... which can help remind you when there is a testing corner ahead... but not those cresting blind ones... then the black lines lead straight to the scene of your previous accident.

I just have troubles on those blind corner, with odd bankings, which is really a track flaw. But eh, what do you expect from a randomly-generated course?

No. I'm awful at created tracks until I've been around 2-3 laps and have a decent understanding of how much speed I'm able to take through each corner. :(
