Regardless if I get picked as a tester or not (not counting on it) I'm just happy to see NEWS on the CSW. I'm enjoying my CSR-E, but the wheel rim bothers me sooooooooo much. I just want my CSW with the BMW wheel and formula wheel, then I will be happy.

I believe u won a comp on 911wheel.de with the YouTube vid?

You must have me confused for someone else. I don't think I've ever even posted a YouTube video. Also I haven't entered any contests that I recall.

Link?

Damn... what an excitement. Even I feel excited again. Maybe i'll order me that new lens for my Nikon D90. Hmmm...

Anyhow... good luck to everyone that will be in the race. I wish you could all be fellow testers, but there can only be one I guess. So may the best one win. ;)

I just got my CSR today and was wondering how do you set it up for GT5?

It uses the G25 driver in GT5 I believe, so you need to change those settings. Correct me if I am wrong guys. :nervous:

Great news :)
I hope there will be also an update on the wheel rims for the CSR-E.
But most likely, they will now be tested together with the CSW, so still wait.
Also, what happend to the CSP V2 ???? Any news Thomas ???

Sorry to read that. You were one of my favourites for GTplanet as test manager. But there is still the poll...

I greatly appreciate this Thomas, I really do. But, I do work long hours already, and the racing is purely for fun, hence why after almost a year, I am still rookie licenses on both oval and road for iRacing :dunce: I would take the time, but, I do it for fun and relaxation. Not to breathe fire down someone's neck over a mistake on the track......

I think I can offer some good insight as to what it feels like with a real racer. I have stated before I race on dirt with sprint cars, and both dirt/asphalt with Late Models. The handling of those is hard to emulate with Sim wheels. It took me almost 6 months of making adjustments on iRacing alone, to get the GT2 to feel similar to that. Still, having only a 300mm rim(which is big for sim wheels grant you) did not do me justice. I truly need that 330mm+ to get a real feel for the car/rim under me.

I feel that is a point where not too many here can compare to. And, I think it is a big point that needs to be compared to. This is supposed to simulate the real thing, right? So the input from racers I truly believe is integral to something like the CSW. So, I am grateful enough to be considered. I hope I am selected to test! But, to be a manager is more time than I have to put forth the effort that you would want out of it Thomas. Just being 100% honest.

I am ready to make reviews now with a new cam & taking notes from others I have seen in the past. Sorry, I will not be like Sonac's with the theme music & fancy set-up. I am envious of those skills though. He does a fantastic job of marketing the product (which is what I am doing with the license plate in a way. Think, going down the highway, someone passes you with the FANATEC plate. Thanks to smartphones & people wondering what it is, you can go to any search engine and type it in. You never know who might be interested). Very professional and to the point. Something I will tailor to with mine as well.

Cheers, and best of luck to all those involved!

Not sure who gets my vote for the poll.... there are a few cool ppl around!

One question.... Is that plate real?

Yes, it is on my car. It is easy to get vanity plates in Pennsylvania. $20 later and a formed filled out, whammy, plate if it's available of course. Takes +-4 weeks after submission to get them.

They are so much in NY its not even worth it. $80-100 if I remember correctly.

Regular plates in Ontario, Canada are $75

Vanity plates start at $251 and go up to $336

Hehehe, that's nothing.
Here in Dubai people buy plates for up to 1 million euro or 1.4 million USD.
A regular plate with 4 digits is starting from 1000 euro :D

I will stop complaining then... wow that is a LOT!

Little FYI Ralph Lauren, the Ralph Lauren, has RL 1 and RL 2 on his 2 Mclaren F1s. I believe he has RL 3 and RL 4 on his two Bugattis as well.

your talking £395 and it's hardly custom is it! The most expensive was like 2 million in the uk I beleive

I think it was HM 1 ( his/ her majesty 1) or it might have just been the number 1

Plates? the new Fanatec wheels come with custom plates??? or am I reading the wrong thread?

That would be a fun addition for the high end wheel. Adding a Fanatec plate or maybe a shifter knob (as incentive to get the CSS as well) or something . lol

I would buy it :D

But still, back on the topic some info on the CSP or CSS would be great.

FYI- The Fanatec Standard Pedals are back in stock for sale. Still $29.99, BUT, states in bold red letters- "Revised version with improved durability!"

So, I might even get them as a back-up to my CSP's just in case. Seems like a good deal this time around.

And as for the vanity license plates, some of those prices are unreal. I know other states here do range to upward of 1-200, but thousands to maybe even millions, that's absurd!

Steve Jobs didn't have a license plate on his car. Just didn't want it on there...and that's how he rolled. Too cool for school.:)

Thanks for the update. Gives me something to do while waiting for what's to come.

And you know how he did this? He purchased a couple hundred of the same mercedes. In the state of California, you can go 6 months on a new car without having to put plates on it. So, every 6 months, he would sell the one he was driving, and register one of his 100 in a shed. Thus, never needing to put a plate on his car. I am not kidding, look it up. That is a definition of wealth.
