Simple question guys, I'm auto grinding my way to $20mil and would like an opinion on which is faster, better handling, etc?

I'd go for a Ferrari, I got to say, I like the Mk IV way more though. But it feels like the Ferrari is a bit better, and it has 5 or 6 gears, and not 4 like the MKIV. I personally think more gears are better for taking the corners on max achievable speed.

My Bob´s love the Ford MkIV maybe yours too ??

I have both and I like both. But for me the P4 is a bit faster in all categories (acceleration, cornering, straight speed => lap time).
Both are worth to have.

P4

Faster, more fun to drive, and far prettier. The interior view is much more open as well.

The Mk.IV is still a good buy though, get that next.

MkIV is the easier to drive, but the Ferrari is a very fast car once you get the hang of driving it. The Jag XJ-13 is a good car as well, but this can be won.

Agree the Ferrari is the fastest if you can drive it. The XJ-13 is the best of the three Historic Race Cars in my book.

Ferrari is faster, but driving it doesn't feel the same as driving the Mark IV.

So back up your data and try them for a few days before you buy.

You could always go for the XJ13. It's heart-achingly gorgeous. I am absolutely in love with that car...

The Jag is my favorite 20 million credit car. It looks good, sounds good, and handles great. I like the Ferrari but I can't seem to tune it right. It's me not the car so I recommend the Ferrari. The Ford I don't have yet but hopefully it handles better than the GT40 :grumpy:

A poll would be nice. The Ferrari 330 P4 is faster in a straight line but it does not corner as fast as the Ford Mark IV. Still, the Ferrari gives me better lap times on most courses (just not on tighter courses like cities and maybe Deep Forest). The Jaguar XJ13 combines cornering speed like the Ford Mark IV with straight line speed almost as good as the Ferrari 330 P4. The GT40 is just inferior.

I wouldnt be so quick to label the P4 as quicker in a straight line.. yeah initially the P4 gets out of the blocks a touch quicker because of the 5 vs. 4 gears.. but once both cars get to a good trot the Mark IV obliterates the P4, i will conduct a drag race.. that should seperate which one is the man and which one is the boy, i ALWAYS take out my Mark IV, not so much my P4

330 P4, I had the Ford Mark IV before and it looks amazing, handles not-so amazingly :).
However, the 330 P4 handles a lot like the prize car from the Indy 500, the Jaguar Xj13.

Get the Ferrari!

I drive them both fully upgraded, stock I think the Mark IV beats the Ferrari 330 P4 in every way (not 100% sure though).

Silly question, but how do you go about getting these cars (i.e. is the only way to purchase them)?

There was mention previously about getting one using a level 21 ticket? What is that about (is that one of those mystery car tickets which the user has no control over which car they receive once the ticket is 'cashed' in)?

^ You can get these cars by tickets, 21, 1000 and birthday tickets. The only way besides this is to spend 20,000,000 cr. :ouch:

You can win the Jaguar XJ13 Race Car '66 from A-Spec Indy 500 and you can win the Ford GT40 Race Car '69 from B-Spec Indy 500. A lvl 21 ticket will get you the three premium classic race cars as well as the Chaparral 2D Race Car '67 (12.5 million credits) and I think the GT40 (20 million credits). You get the lvl 21 ticket from completing the extreme series races (you probably have to gold them all).

A ticket 1000 can also get you any of these cars, and you can also get the birthday ticket for that year by setting up a new PSN account.

Simple... get both! :-) I have both and think they are great. Deffo worth the grind. Get the Ferrari first tho

I'm really thinking of buying another XJ13.
Ferrari 330-P4 is good but don't forget - it lost versus Mk IV on Le Mans.
So I'd go for Mk IV, just because it's a winner and a legend. Ferrari lost, and in my oppinion - shouldn't even be 20mil. Why I wonder? I'd much rather want to see Chaparral 2D premium than the Ferrari 330-P4.

The whole Historic Racing Car trinity is a joke to me, look - XJ13 never raced, 330 lost, GT40 Mk IV won, and the most famous GT40 (Mk II) is standard.
How can XJ13 and 330 be historic when they haven't won anything? They become history.
End of.

Take out a bank loan and buy them both! I bought the Ferrari first and then when I got to 20MM again I grabbed the Ford. :D

Thanks Vitzio and boredgunner. Again a silly question (last one, I promis), the level 21 ticket generates a random car yes?

EDIT: Never mind. This youtbe video suggests the answer is yes.

Thanks for the answers guys, seems both is the way to go here...haha I'll be getting the 330 P4 first.

Are all your cars fully tuned boredgunner? Haha.. and yes you are correct the Mark IV is much quicker stock

MK IV was far superior in 1967 to the XJ13/P4. It annoys me to no end to see the HP upgrade at ~540hp when they made that stock in 67 anyways...

P4 was destroyed at LM and Sebring but not 24h Daytona. The MK IV's wern't out yet and the P3/P4 swept 1-2-3 for Daytona.

Start of 1967 24 hours of Daytona:

P4 would probably sell for 20 million in real life considering they only made 3. They made 12 MK IV's and 9 or 10 still exist.

Yes it is a joke cause of how dumbed down PD made the MK4. The XJ13 is a beautiful car, but what makes it so beautiful would most likely have kept it from being competitive as a racer.

There has never been an MK II GT40 in any GT game.

MK II's are easily distinguished from I/III by their hoods:

Winning isn't everything though. Stirling Moss never won a world championship but he is seen as one of the greatest drivers there has ever been. Plus PD wanted to milk having the Ferrari licence (and all the better for it!). Kaz is a fan of the Jaguar, which is likely why it is in the game. Better than another Skyline any day:sly:

Get the P4, because it's better, lighter, more exciting and slower than the GT, so you can be in a gorgeous car and admire the skyline whereas the stupid GT drivers will just rocket past you and miss all that magneficient horizon. ;)

No seriously, get the P4. It's prettier and a Toyota 7 can do the job of winning the Historic Car Series with it's tyres tied althogether.
