I was a bit shocked as well. I guess PD got done analyzing the results of the past two seasons and couldn't bake the changes in for 1.23.

Also, I believe with daily races being weekly, more emphasis has to be put into BoP. Otherwise we'll just be driving the wheels of two or three cars. Its a typical game balance problem - have tons of ccontent but only a fraction is used because everyone wants to be the most competitive.

Impossible to solve at the moment as they are running 2 separate games essentially, but i don't want to keep banging on about the actual issue xD

They should have gone to my fantasy patch thread and used that  BoP would be way closer than what they just changed :p

Welcome back to the 911 meta folks! Hope you all missed it!
That would drive me away from the GTI, as I have been using the car extensively after watching Sir Grady's BoP tests (WARNING: Existing BoP Test video is before the new tyre model!)

PD gave a buff of the 911's power, but not playing around with its weight... META problems much?

Oh don't worry I'm well acquainted with Tidge and his BoP tests  The GTI is really good after this patch, but I think the Porsche will be a more practical pick at most non-power circuits :)

Both Mercs get a buff... YEET!
I don't know about the SLS (still looks a bit heavy, should've gotten another 1% for the weight reduction, but anything is an improvement) :)

The 911 RSR looks quite inviting now lol. Both the Evo and RS01 have been brought back into to line with the other cars, and the Ford GT isn't as OP anymore. Finally some progress by PD.👍

So as the noob when it comes to BOP I presume this spells the end of the dominant era of the Megane Trophy or will there still
be certain tracks it has advantage on?

The bop changes are to level out the grid after the tire changes. Technically the Porsches got a huge buff since they both went up as most things went down.

As a Porsche driver, I’m okay with that. I felt the cars, specifically the Cayman always had to be driven in defense mode at all times down longer straights. Weight reduction may not help top end, but it should give us a small jump out of the corner with our silly long gearing.

We’ll see what happens tomorrow night at Dragons Tail.

Hey fellas! Any word on if the Barcelona event will accept walk in participants for a spot to battle with the top 12 drivers?

The plan is to have 12 "wildcard" entries taken from in-person qualifying on the Saturday

Edit: There will be 36 qualifiers (top 12 Nissan drivers from June, July and August in Manufacturers cup)

So I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question and if it's not, feel free to tell me where to post it.

I'm really struggling at Brands post update. Before I was able to do 1.24 to low 1.25's pretty much consistently, every lap. Since the new tire model, I'm struggling to get past 1.26.5 in pretty much any car I've tried. I may be over driving the car, which is a total possibility. I have tons on understeer through most of the track. I've been using the Hyundai, but I may try the AMG GT3 since it now has a power buff. I'm not an S rated Dr driver, mid to upper B rating, and winning in these FIA races isn't crazy important to me, but I still want to be competitive and have some close racing. Any advise you guy may have would be greatly appreciated since most of you seem to be light years faster than me.

To be honest if you factor in the new limits and the tyre model, most are losing up to a second a lap here so you aren’t far of from your comparable best. Strangely with the new tyre model I think I have closed the gap to the top ten times. I’m on a 1.23.8 after a few laps in the RSR before its buff today, best was a 1.23.1 before.

Maybe I'm over thinking it. The only thing I find weird with the new tire model, is in a time trial at DT Seaside, I was within like 2 or 3 tenths of a pre update time in the gr GTI vgt. I think I may be over thinking and over driving the car. Just looking for some advise if anyone can shed some light on this for me. This community is great!

The new tire model and track limits slowed everyone down at Brands. My hotlap time is off by over a second and race pace will probably be closer to two seconds due to fear of track limit penalties.

Are the times you mentioned in the Nations free practice or a custom race/lobby with tire wear and fuel burn? If it is in free practice, my guess is that you are overdriving. It seems that with the new tire model, throwing the car into corners isn't as effective as it was previously. A softer turn in seems to help me, basically steering input is a bit slower and more gradual.

Mostly Nations free practice. I need to do some custom/lobby racing tonight to get an idea of tire and fuel wear. I think I made some bad habits with the old tire model and I'm carrying it over with the new one.

Brands is definitely somewhere you can overdrive. I’m not really the one to give you tips on getting faster could do with more speed myself, I improved a minute ago was 1.23.89 now a 1.23.7 but not got any more time for practice now.

My tip for what’s worth though is brands is a track you really need to get in a rhythm, don’t try to go too fast to soon. Do several steady laps then gradually up your speed. Get to a point where you can do within your best by a couple tenths for several laps, once you get consistent speed comes easier. You can make up huge time each lap from nailing t1. I started at 25s earlier then constant 24s, then high 23s then eventually got it down a bit but I had to stop then, but if I kept going the process is the same.

I think that's part of my issue as well. For some reason, I find it hard to get into a rhythm there. Maybe I should spend more time here other than just when there is an FIA race lol

Brands is a track where I rarely find any sense of rhythm and the new track limits makes it even harder. Obviously, I'll push for fast lap for Q (hoping for a mid to low 23) but my mentality in the race is not to bin it somewhere.

The upside is that a lot of times, an error free race at Brands will always gain me a good number of positions. It may be most true with everyone running an FIA race for the first time with the new tire model.
Polyphony Digital be like "Surprise... Ehm... You know, the mother and some specific word hehe"
Surprise, cookie monster?

Ok, so the 911 is absolute garbage on race pace interestingly, the rear left tyre just gives up completely Lap 8 of a stint and death becomes extremely probable
Good balancing act from PD?

@Tidgney What happened to the stream ? Can't watch the pratice race right now.

Unbelievably it got a strike against it for inappropriate content... No idea how GT Sport is inappropriate content? But there we go so I'll have to sort out a twitch account tomorrow. When you get 1 strike on youtube that's it no more livestreaming on that service. Have emailed them but they'll take ages to respond... So frustrated and annoyed by it though. Sorry for anyone who was watching.. Lobby is still up for those interested.

Is that like an auto-detect algorithm or did someone report you? Win any close races recently to make enemies lol?

So the power increase made it worse at brands? That's rather odd...

Thanks for the quick answer! That's a bit weird... Maybe the robot saw a tobacco livery ? I don't know how it works actually lol
I would like to join but can't play right now. That's why I was hoping to watch it. :indiff:
