Oh right just 3 post ahead of mine sorry I did not look closely enough.
Well I cannot help you figure how the bonus is received through the game as I do not know.
Germans player will be happy folks

I would like that.
Especially if you would be participating in video editing of highlights,
because that "Top 5 moments" video looks amateur and made in 10mins.

It is very weird. "Here's the Top 5 moments of a race that was held a month ago, the Season the race was in has finished and the only people who've actually seen this race are a few hundred who have watched Rick or Zoky's stream!"

It seems to be a Top 5 of the action they managed to catch live, because Rick passing lemoes wasn't really that thrilling

I just think... what would it actually be like if we got to follow the championship each round.. They could even just call 1 of the slots "Media slot" or something if you want to enter that one you can and that's the slot that is then cast? Or maybe even do 5 slots, 3 Nations/2 Manufacturers or vice versa to give some variance. I dunno would be nice if they did it each round, and you could follow the championship. It would also mean that the regional finals would be much better because you understand more how they got there, the action that happened and things like that. You'd also have quite a few action shots from all the previous rounds you could put into some crazy highlight montage!

I thought that was the whole point of the top24 races, so they would do some media on them. It doesn't take too much to get a commentator to do the races, (it is done in the Zwift online bike races I do) and I am sure there are people out there that would be more than happy to give it a shot. Slap a livestream on twitch or youtube with the race and lots of people will watch it.

If they aren't going to do that then what is the point of the top24 races? Giving out extra points to make sure the best drivers are in the races is only worthwhile if they are going to show the races. Otherwise it is just a huge disadvantage to someone who had a commitment on the days of those races.

Good idea, definitely missing out on opportunities to really sell and promote this championship. I think they would need a few ‘media’ slots else you potentially create a very high points lobby that not everyone would get in, so need to spread it out a bit, especially given how off the points system is.

There’s so many things they could do with this, I really think the divisions idea would work and give a nice progression, also think that DR rating between daily races and fia races should be separate.

Every round would be too complicated as for sure everyone would go for media slot
and livestream problems would ocur 99%.
In fact, they have a good plan of monitoring the Top24 races and add highlights or the whole race replay with commentary later on.
For some reason it has failed so far.
As for commentator, Jimmy is good, no doubt.
I think Martin would also be good, maybe even better because I believe he knows the players a bit better and sure would add some interesting comments here and there.

I have a quick question.

PD have just uploaded this article onto the website:

https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gtsport/news/00_1436595.html

It's the announcement of the victory commemoration bonus, as I am from EU region and driving for Nissan I assume this
means that I get the bonus but I haven't seen any notification of this in game yet, when was the bonus issued as I know
this has been talked about before?

Everyone else was talking about it a few pages back, it seemed like they got it as soon as season 2 ended

Ok, I guess I maybe got it then and never noticed the message but usally good at spotting such things. Should be able to work it out from
my game credits/mileage points I guess.

"It speaks..." Joke. :D

Hang on, you're that fast NZ guy that I've seen occasionally racing with Nik_Makozi in his FIA streams right?

If so, you should try to go and do the 2nd session Manufacturer's race and 3rd session Nation's race, that's where all the big points are usually ;) (Nik, Akagi, s_shohei, Kawakana, Goriraichi, ArrowCG, yukiku, Lion-Face go to those sessions almost every race of the last 2 seasons (apart from the Top 24s)) The only downside is that you have about 8-6 minutes in-between races to reacquaint yourself with your chosen car for Nations, but it's worth it if you can get a good result. :)

EDIT: Accidentally selected something at random and dragged a GTP emoji into this as an attachment, sorry.

Yeah I race Nik. The problem with the third race is that it is at 1 am my time. LionFace and I race that first slot and while it might not be the most points its always a decent amount,

I do the manufacturers with him though and he used to smash me but recently i've been getting closer.

As for tonight, got only a measly 1.1 sec penalty while others got destroyed by them. Came 3rd and got season back on track!

What a day until now!

After Wendsday in Manufacturers where I went down from SR 99 to 77, I had to do dailies to recover to participate at decent lobbys in FIA races today.

Chosen Nürburgring. First race pole and disconnection during the race!

About -3000 DR (I was only DRA, rest DR/D) and SR went further down to something with 50!

Now after 1 second place and 3 victorys I climbed only to SR 79 !!! (DR only 2K gain, because of low ranked grids)

I wasn't aware of how hard it is to get SR up now after the penalty system change ! This is now totaly crazy! I have to do still at least 2 clean races to enter the FIA races in decent lobbys. And have to do training also before, I don't know yamagiwa 2 and St. croix B very well... oh man

But, I think the change is good anyway. Before the patch it was to easy to gain SR.

Edit1:
To be honest, now I understand why they lowered the harshnes of the penalty system. You don't get penalties as fast and high as before, but once you get one, you're screwed (sorry, but explaines best)

Edit2:
But there is a difference between track limits- caused penalties and penalties from contact with others. In 1 rece I was pole and got ramed from behind in turn 1.
I got a 2 secs penalty, I didn't have further ones in the race, and won it. But I gained no SR from that race in total!

Welcome to the rat race brother, this is the experience we lower levels have in trying to make progress after the changes.

Nations Cup Final Season Round 2 Summary

This is Round 2 of the Nations Cup, featuring Gr.4 cars around the Reverse version of Kyoto Driving Park Yamagiwa. I've skipped out Round 1 at Brands Hatch with Gr.3 cars, as I have school commitments, so some people do have points already.

As expected, the lobby is a Mégane Trophy festival, with an NSX, a WRX, and two 86s filling in the non-Mégane spots. Interestingly enough, there are A+ rated drivers in this lobby as well.

I was able to put down a 1:42.704, which puts me enough in 4th, ahead of hijrah_saputra, a fellow Indonesian in the lobby. Pole sitter is a Kiwi named DoubleH with a blistering 1:41.9xx to his name. Things get really shaky with the Championship specific track limits, as no Takumi-style grass dipping is allowed on some insides of its corners, especially the first chicane-style corner (second to last sequence of corners in the Forwards version), the infamous chicane which serves as the meeting of the two tracks inside the complex, Yamagiwa and Miyabi, to which a combo course is available to race on, and the high speed esses leading into the final corner (Turn 1 in the Forwards version).

Lap 1 and things go smoothly until "The Meeting Point", which is my nickname for the chicane, or rather a sequence of corners, where said fellow Indonesian gets thrown off by me and runs wide. He then proceeds to unsafely rejoin the track, which causes tm_sprit (the guy in the NSX) to hit him, spinning him out and dumping poor Saputra into last place. And his SR tanked from S to A for his stunt (more on that later).

At the beginning of Lap 2, kaoru80 is having a battle for 16th with GTRFreak-217 and HillF1nevergiup, until the latter attempts to do Turn 1 3-wide by divebombing GTRFreak, resulting in a domino effect to where Kaoru gets punted wide. He eventually sets a Fastest Lap for a while, until DoubleH sets a new one.

Another change in positions is during Lap 2 when the guy in the NSX runs wide at the exit of the high speed turn after "The Meeting Point" and collides with the wall, leaving the door open for black-fulful (the guy in the WRX), but at the beginning of Lap 3 though, the NSX gets pushed wide by bigwigbossman (a Singaporean in a Red Bull Mégane) after defending from orion0141 (one of the 86s in the race, the other is kotyuke. The former is in the Eneos 86, while the latter is in a chrome blue 86). On the run to "The Meeting Point" however, the NSX, while battling with the Red Bull Mégane, attempts to trailbrake, which makes the NSX's weight to shift unpredictably, which slides Sprit into the wall, dropping him into last.

Said 86 of kotyuke gets overtaken by the guy who divebombed GTRFreak on the final corner. Speaking of which the Aussie causes the 86 to run wide at the exit of the Reverse final corner, dropping him into 18th.

Then, a lag causes the Oz to suddenly tap the fellow Indonesian who is the victim of "The Meeting Point" on Lap 1. After that, said Indonesian is now in the attack position, claiming the inside and in a Touring Car Racing fashion, he made contact with said Aussie, and the move stuck. The battle actually pulls Kaoru in and overtakes GTRFreak to gang up on hijrah_saputra.

DENSO25 had a battle with fatmax_mole, the latter actually started last (19th, one guy got disconnected or blue screened) and has been gaining positions ever since. An incident between the two was inevitable as said Hong Kong guy turns into Mole and made contact, sending him into the wall. Eventually once exiting the final corner the Mole had a synchronized moment with Patlamp777.

The Red Bull Mégane ends up shoving the WRX wide, but the driver of the former then serves his penalty, giving back the position to the WRX, before a blue Okuma Mégane driven by De-14RGT shoves his nose into said Red Bull Mégane, dropping Big Wig into 9th place. After that, the WRX proceeds to hold up a train of Méganes and an 86.

The battle between GTRFreak-217 and hijrah_saputra gets heated when the Oz pays back what the Indonesian did to him on Lap 3 on the long high speed turn, but said Indonesian decided to pay him back again on the high speed esses, forcing the Aussie to run wide.

On the subject of rubbing Aussies, fatmax_mole decided to push De-14RGT into unstability at the beginning of Lap 6. Things get even worse for the Japanese as he gets punted wide by a frustrated Singaporean in the Red Bull Mégane as a payback to what happened on Lap 5.

Said Indonesian on Lap 6 gets into trouble as he pretty much tanked his SR on "The Meeting Point", as another incident puts Orion in the Eneos 86 to a spin after said Japanese guy gets punted by a fellow Japanese in form of HillF1nevergiup, the same guy, again, who causes issues with the others on the grid. Then said incident occurred with Orion and Saputra, plus a ping pong effect from DENSO25 as well.

The pits are in at the end of Lap 6 with the WRX leading the charge for the undercut, followed by the Red Bull Mégane, Patlamp777, the Okuma Mégane driver who harrasses the Singaporean, and DENSO25.

Those who stayed out until the end of Lap 7 pits in, which includes myself. Orion and GTRFreak stayed out due to their own incident when Orion wants to go to the pits when he runs wide on the final turn exit and sees someone crashed into the wall, which causes GTRFreak to have nowhere to go and shunted Orion, to which the Japanese gave up his position to said Aussie. Eventually, Orion pitted at the end of Lap 9, while GTRFreak for some reason attempted a no-stop strategy.

More incidents include nori-nana7 (drives a black Mégane with purple wheels and PMMM related decals, or the lack thereof) going for a sychro-spin with Patlamp777, yasukiyoband (Yasukiyo Racing with Mikoto Mégane) gets it wrong on "The Meeting Point", the same turn as the synchro-spin of nori-nana7 and Patlamp777, and a few other uncovered incidents.

The battle between Me and yasukiyoband is pretty much a race long hunt, with ARROW-HEAD_A joining in for good measure after exiting the pits to begin Lap 8. Eventually I trounced them both, as Yasukiyo dropped out due to an error or my overtaking move, and Arrowhead has to slow down to serve his penalty on the finish line. Speaking of which, Flyman_Kr was gifted the win due to DoubleH's unserved 8-second penalty, despite the Kiwi's best efforts to pull a 19-second gap. I ended up finishing 3rd, gaining 1610 points at the end. What an eventful race, despite all of the Méganes and questionable driving standards!

Stay tuned for the summary of the Manufacturer Series Round 2! @xxxman1 is included in said race!

So it is you! Great to know. :)

I really don't understand why they (the organisers) put the FIA races for the Asia/Oceania later in the day in the first place. In the first 10 or so seasons the schedule of the race sessions meant that the last race in WA would finish at 23:00 (I think), but now PD have put it about 2-3 hours later in the day which really turns off many players who aren't dedicated. This is even worse for players over in NZ, the eastern parts of Aus, and for Japan, so I'm bewildered why they've done this.

Hehe, I think that he still hasn't got used to this new tyre model (shaky corner exits, not pushing to the limits, etc.), so we'll see how he gets on for the remainder of the season.

Manufacturer's didn't look like it went so well, I see you got P11 (I also saw contact between you and Nik in one of the earlier laps I think, and you probably didn't have the luck to get many fuel saving opportunities for the rest of the race). Better luck next time. ;) The field looked fairly chaotic coming out of T2/3. :/

Here's Nik's stream if anyone's interested. Manufacturers' was a bit messy from the get go and in Nations Cup it looks like Japan are employing some questionable tactics more obviously to get Nik out of the race (although managed to do some damage limitation coming back from 14th) Enjoy!

Update:

This was it for me, no FIA races today.

After 2 more races in Nürb (both Podiums) I'm back down at SR 58. I ramed nobody out or caused an accident, in 1 race I lost 20SR for 7 sec penalty? This is crazy. If you look on my Kudos, you'll see I stayed almost always automaticly at SR 99. Can't believe that I can't come out from low SR even I'm always in front of the grid. Don't know what to think now.

I hope @Tidgney , @ZokyCRO or someone else stream their races today

What capture card do you use? Looking for recommendations.

Thank you very much PD and SONY. This is still happening in THE FINAL SEASON FFS??!!

Damn, happened to me,too, in the middle of qualif sesion. I thought it was my network... Tx for sharing

  • Continued widespread blue screen and disconnection issues
  • Cars getting stuck in the pitbox during pitstops
  • No penalties for punting people
  • Huge penalties for a tiny corner cut
  • 95% of Gr4 cars made totally irrelevant by the bloody Megane
  • Gr3, the one class that was largely fine, ruined at most tracks by the new Ford which is 100mph faster than anything down a straight
  • Every race turning into a fuel saving train
  • Point system that punishes most drivers in top split
  • Zero marketing and effort to promote the championship on PD's part
  • No action taken on people who have clearly broken the rules (multiple accounts)
  • No discernable prize except an 'interesting' looking trophy and posh dinner
  • New 'penalty' system means even top split resembles Wreckfest at times
I have to take my hat off to Polyphony. They've been on a mission since the July update to try and completely alienate everyone who plays Sports Mode, with the more 'casual' players resigned to the same races all week in uninspiring combos. At least we have an improved tyre model

Well, I didn't do very well in the Mazda at Nations/Yamagiwa. "Qualified" pretty much last, finished 13th and probably should have two-stopped - tyres were roasted after 6 laps and I reckon 4, 4 and 5 would have been far better. I was just being done on every long corner by the Meganes which seemed to have 5mph higher corner speeds.

But I was the second non-Megane and the top Brit in the race. So... yeah.

Update 2:

If someone have read my upper posts and should be interested perhaps how it went out:

Finally aftter another 4 victorys in a row (all in "weak" grids because of low SR, only few A-Drivers) I'm back at SR 99.

Oh, man. I had to 10 (!!!) Race-C today, 7 victorys rest podiums to recover from previous low SR + disconnection- desaster.

No I'm done and can't do any FIA- races (my left hand hurts again dam it) today, so I will watch the streams from the guys (all of them :))

Moral of this story as well is better to let all your frustrations out here. Just went and controlled the Manufacturers race from start to finish :D

Still stand by all those points though

Nations cup:
Ruined qualy, had to start P14.
Exit of the first corner, lap 1, the guy in front of me spins. I can't avoid him and hit him. I am then hit from behind by someone else, and spin out completely. I am now 10 seconds behind P19. Great :banghead:.
Rest of the race I'm saving a bit of fuel, yet I'm somehow catching up, and start working my way to the field. I'm the only one to not make a pitstop, and somehow finish P7 . I guess the Megane Trophy is even more OP than I thought.

Manufacturers cup:
Qualy is a bit bad. P11.
The start of the race is the most hilarious thing. I think I was one of three people not to make a jump start .
Coming up to turn 1 I'm in P5 already. And then the ramming starts... During the first lap I'm punted off the track no less than three times. The last time I'm also given a penalty, while the guy who crashed into me gets nothing :banghead:. Thanks for the great penalty system, PD...
Rest of the race is cruising around at the back. Finished in last position, P16.

I saw it in @ZokyCRO's stream, congrats to you podium guys!

I also watched @Tidgney's race and couldn't believe the penaltys from ridiculous track limits

After all together, PD does repair things and bring also good updates, but unfortunately always doesn't miss to put a hair into the soup
