  • Continued widespread blue screen and disconnection issues
  • Cars getting stuck in the pitbox during pitstops
  • No penalties for punting people
  • Huge penalties for a tiny corner cut
  • 95% of Gr4 cars made totally irrelevant by the bloody Megane
  • Gr3, the one class that was largely fine, ruined at most tracks by the new Ford which is 100mph faster than anything down a straight
  • Every race turning into a fuel saving train
  • Point system that punishes most drivers in top split
  • Zero marketing and effort to promote the championship on PD's part
  • No action taken on people who have clearly broken the rules (multiple accounts)
  • No discernable prize except an 'interesting' looking trophy and posh dinner
  • New 'penalty' system means even top split resembles Wreckfest at times
I have to take my hat off to Polyphony. They've been on a mission since the July update to try and completely alienate everyone who plays Sports Mode, with the more 'casual' players resigned to the same races all week in uninspiring combos. At least we have an improved tyre model
Only thing I would say is that it's good they don't reveal the prize as it could motivate some people to use undesirable racing tactics.

I have a quick question.

PD have just uploaded this article onto the website:

https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gtsport/news/00_1436595.html

It's the announcement of the victory commemoration bonus, as I am from EU region and driving for Nissan I assume this
means that I get the bonus but I haven't seen any notification of this in game yet, when was the bonus issued as I know
this has been talked about before?

Same for me m8.

Not bad races on my part today :) Started with the Man. series, I managed a 13th position with the Alfa, which was disadvantaged in St. Croix :indiff: Got a 8th position in the Renault galore  Seriously, after the end of the championships PD needs to take that car out of group 4; no added weight can compensate a absurd fuel saving

Well...

I think I've peaked at this game tbh

I was so dazed and happy afterwards I forgot to save the replay, so I'll post what I remember here. Qualified second, guy on pole false started. I rolled away from him while It's All About You started playing I had done about three laps of this track right before the entry, so it was new to me, even though I knew some corners from the first weekly race round here in the same car. Got passed by a pink Porsche into the first corner, took him back at the second and stayed there for the rest of the race. A guy in an Alfa was on me for most of the first stint, got as close as .300 but was around 1 second away for the most part. He took a penalty going onto the bridge on lap four which bought me some space. I had more fuel than everyone else when we pitted on lap five so I got some advantage there, then around lap 7/8 the three British guys behind me all started trading second and the gap started ranging from 5-8 seconds. I've never driven a race as cleanly and consistently as that, given the circumstances. My clean race bonus got stolen in the curves at the end of the track on the last lap, a phantom line crossing did me in. 1.4 seconds, served.

Still. What a feeling. What a car. What a game.

What a disaster I'm in for next race.

These points I agree with 100% and I absolutely can't stand them as well.

One thing that's new; I got disconnected during Q of the first nation race, along with everyone else pretty much. I could join another race. Previously when disconnected that was it, no second chance.

Though I think this was because of the massive disconnection, not just me.

Is everyone using TC1 for the standing start?
Try a custom race with your car and BoP active and see which setting gives the best start. On my end, 1 seemed like the perfect fit. The straight is also long enough to disable it before 1st corner.

It's a shame I'm not home today because I really like the B layout.

It all depends on whether you lag out before it gets to the main lobby/chat screen or after I think, if you lag out before you're good.

Had a fun night tonight. Figured out a car that could just about compete with the Megane Trophy (I hate that car), and managed to get a 7th in my Nations race with it.

Had great fun being a little bit of a roadblock after a good opening couple of laps. The VW Scirocco has just enough speed through the corners and just enough oomph down the straights to be a complete pain.

The manufactures ran into a problem with the Beetle's slow top end, and a gentle shunt at the end of the back straight that dropped me from 6th to 19th. Being on the outside of a 4 wide into a corner is never a good idea.

Managed to fight my way back up to 9th, but it was hard work with the pathetic speed down the straights. Start was interesting as it was obvious that a few people hadn't tried that before. I used tc1 in my start but not sure it is the best.

Hey everyone

Today I scored 0

This concludes my report on today's races

Have a nice day

dw I'm not on suicide watch... yet
0 is still better than nothing, thanks for keeping my place safe then. :D

Best part of the day was lightning having a chill in the pit box, after pushing from 20. into 7. in 7 laps, gg. Can't wait for karts on wed, gonna spend 5h a day to work on race strategy...

Sarcasam on the side, had a great race on Croix, has anyone saved a reaply of that race and willing to share it so I could.make a vid?

Usually kills my race replay uploads as it takes so long, but Jomas spends tons of time on replays making them look really cool so he's a good bet for uploading it

So, uh, will someone care to enlighten me what happens when you get disconnected right after qualifying but race doesn’t start so you don’t lose DR? Am I screwed or can I enter the next slot? Whatever the response is will determine whether to go on a long rant, or to be relieved.

Seeded 8, qualified 2nd somehow in the Alfa before DC’d.

Blue screened during matching for FIA Nations. Unfortunately, I don't have time to do another race today. Oh well, I would've been fighting for 19th place anyway.
me too... i just got 2 BSOD in the last 15 minutes....
thanks PD

Oooops! I did it again!

Sorry if I sound emotional or as if I were accepting an oscar (there is some beer involved in celebration right now)
I want to thank all of you that participate regularly in this forum and share your knowledge, especially @Tidgney @kie25 @TRL LIGHTNING @mclarenLB Super GT (a friendly alien living nearby), Slowquadrant, Krypton etc etc etc... all of you that share and help others to learn in the process, and all of you that stream and upload and comment and help newbies like me. And of course @Famine and GTPlanet. In june I wasn't able to take a corner... and now...

Pole
Fastest lap
Victory (+31seconds difference with the second guy)

This is 40% me, 50% all of you and 50% Nissan ... mmm... these numbers don't add up... Ah, of course! Also thanks to Heineken  (official celebration drink of the team)!

Thank you, all of you, what a great comunity :gtpflag:

I false started but was able to fight my pole back and yet achieve over 30 seconds difference. I also have to say that the Nissan was amazing, It drives like a dream in big long tracks, I won P1 back thanks to the top speed of this machine.
What a race, I won't forget this one. Thanks again, guys.

Edited: and thanks PD for a great game. I just hope they stop messing with the top split players

Frustrating in the manufacturers.. running pretty well (for me) when someone brake-checks me then puts me off the track leaving me in a wall, tyres then seem to be instantly shot and I am next to last tiptoeing far enough to get in a tyre change, with absolutely no hope of catching anyone no matter what I do.

I saw it in @ZokyCRO's stream, congrats to you podium guys!

I also watched @Tidgney's race and couldn't believe the penaltys from ridiculous track limits

After all together, PD does repair things and bring also good updates, but unfortunately always doesn't miss to put a hair into the soup

Ye I can't believe I got a penalty for that either! Was crazy ridiculous, espcially at 5 seconds. The exit you get more time and it's only 5 tenths seems a bit extreme from 1 cut to another.

Oooops! I did it again!

Absolutely no problemo, loved the GTPlanet community ever since I properly started on here in 2011 I think it was? Great community, great people so always happy to contribute :)!

The Hyundai was my secret weapon for Yamagiwa. Both it and the M4 could keep up with the Cayman in my practicing, all 3 were half a second faster than the Megane for me.

Had a bad qualifying, ended up 11th out of 17 after 3 DCs before the race. Had a terrible first half of the race, got 6 secs of penalties and went off twice, but then I settled into a rhythm the rest of the race. Ended up picking off some of the 2 stoppers and managed to drive back to within a few seconds of the people I was racing before I crashed. Finished 13th for 592 more points than I got on Wednesday.

Still maintain my faith in the Genesis, my fastest lap in the race was the 5th or 6th fastest out of anyone (and 1.2 seconds faster than my qualifying lap), only 3 tenths off the fast lap. And it drives very well once you get in the rhythm.

Rant time!

I’m sick and tired of PD’s bull:censored: when it comes to this game and their “””dedicated server.””” This is the second race in a row where I was matched with people that have trash internet connections.

The first race wasn’t so bad aside from the fact there was a cluster of 6 cars ahead of me all doing funky things, but luckily it wasn’t a big issue.

The issue I have was everyone in my new room was lagging, and after having my best ever qualifying in FIA history, the game decides to 🤬 itself and I get kicked 40 seconds from the race start.

How the 🤬 can this game be considered an eSport when it cant even maintain proper connection with 20 people? I have a great idea: instead of adding content in the next update whenever that is, how about overhauling your 🤬 garbage server so that it doesn’t do this bs.

Waste of 1700 potential points AND a loss of 1500 DR. 🤬 you, PD.

Pro tip: don't run over too much Astro on Sainte Croix, and avoid doing a "Gutter Run" at Yamagiwa!

I did neither of those haha! I literally cut the right hander in sector 1 a tiny bit to much according to the game (2 wheels still on the track) so it gave me a 5 second penalty for it xD

Sainte Croix Turn 1 perhaps? Or actually it could be the pseudo-chicane at Yamagiwa!

Manufacturer - Sainte Croix B - Viper Gr. 3

The following GIF perfectly sums up my Viper when it came to fuel in this race:
giphy.gif

Anyways.. In the first half of the race I was able to be in the Top 2, but after pitting, I was down to 6th place and finished there. I had to adjust the fuel meter twice so I wouldn't run out of fuel.

I'm still very happy with the outcome of the race. I performed MUCH better in this race, compared to the last one (16th). I'm taking home 1177 points, and I will celebrate with... water. Yeah. Water.

What I found at Yamagiwa was that if your inside wheels touch (not even go over) the white lines then the game gives you a penalty, I guess the track limits worked given that people had to consciously avoid going too far off... Whether they were needed or not is another matter

I was in your lobby. That freakin' hurt, really sorry that you got disconnected. I had that happen one time when I was in 5th place near the end of a race in Season 2 and felt the same way.
I saw that when you got your best time during quali, you had 1 red bar, and saw that most of us had 3-6 bars. What sucks is that the problem can be any one or multiple things (ISP, connection to PSN, PD/GTSport, etc.) and isn't our fault (generally speaking).
Hopefully things improve connection-wise. These disconnects shouldn't be happening to anyone.
