Tires, maybe but it would've also required a bit of fuel saving. From what I could tell, it would've gained around 15 seconds of track time. I think I would've been able to attempt it but I didn't need to for obvious reasons.
It's always a great feeling when you execute a move like that, planned or otherwise. A shame about getting booted off the track, though. I'm not a big fan of following someone that closely into corners for that very reason. Unless you're familiar with that driver and their braking points, the smallest deviation and you're just asking for a penalty.

I'm honored to be midfield fodder for the aliens! Qualified smack dab in the middle of the field at 11th out of 22, and had an awesome first lap!
No penalties, bur really close racing and 3-wide side by side action
Moved up to 10th in my first stint, but I went a wee bit too deep into T3, and smashed into the new tire barriers
Relegated into 16th, but with the help of some strategies (read: shortshifting 4 dayz) and accidents of other people, I managed to scrap myself back to 12th
But my DR is still A reeeEEEEEEEEEEEE
It's Monza, a place that seems to attract the more aggressive drivers. That and the talent level of the field is generally lower because the fastest guys avoid it. It's too easy for your race to be ruined by something well out of your control.

The one that hit me wasn't even responsible as they got hit themselves. I will fully admit that after the game reset my car and essentially relegated me to last, this had crossed my mind on what I had wanted to do to anyone that got in my way.
