I'm sorry about our incident in round 5 of manufacturers. I wanted to apologise after the race but you'd already left. I thought you ran wider than you did. I tried to stay as far to the right as possible to aviod contact, but it clearly wasn't enough

No worries, i had 19 seconds worth of penalties somehow, and after spinning at the hairpin, being dead last with that amount of penalties i decided to call it a day and disconnected.

That literally took 3 dailies to get back, Did I ever mention this ranking system is stupid?
 
And when I tried to bump my DR this week-end I was getting about 100 - 200 DR per race :banghead: Now that lobbies are populated with high enough ranked people, I just can't give it the time.

Anyway, this just feels like a big lottery with 3/4 of the calendar being high speed tracks and some people just not caring about clean racing at all. I find myself eager for the season to reach the end so I can start doing fun and relaxed events on GT again.
 
I'm just outside the top 24 in Manufacturers for the Americas in 25th. It had to happen to someone but that really stings, especially since the driver I'm fighting for the top spot in Honda made it in the Top 24.
 
I've seen the misconception so many times now, so just to re-iterate

Your position in the Points Standings is completely irrelevant to getting into the Round 6 Top 24 race, this Top 24 race in particular is using Driver Rating as the primary matching parameter, not Championship Points. The 24 Drivers that are selected for the race will be the 24 highest Driver Rated players that sign up to the Top 24 timeslot, whilst also conforming to the 2 Manufacturer limit or the Country limit in your region. Championship Points carry absolutely zero weight in this particular Top 24's selection process.

How do you tell if you are one of the Top 24 Rated drivers? You can't, but if you think you might be eligible, I fully encourage you to sign up the timeslot anyway, You have absolutely nothing to lose by signing up irrespective. The game will politely kick you back to the Sport Mode menu and tell you that you didn't make it if you didn't get in, and will allow you to enter a following timeslot.
 
Just tried out the 458 Italia GT3 for a 15 minute simulated race around Bathurst. Tyres are completely gone out of whack after lap 6/7. Total race time is 15:09 at the end of Lap 7.

The Viper is up next and the fuel can only last up to 7 laps, and this is with short shifting and Map 3 through the mountain section, but I'm pretty consistent with it. Tyre situation is good, even after 7 laps of driving hard. Total race time is 15:03 at the end of Lap 7.

The FT-1 is the final car to be tested, and it is faster than the other two, so this one went on into the 8th lap, provided that your fuel saving is great. Car is good on its tyres, especially with its handling characteristics and a great top speed. Total race time is 17:09 at the end of Lap 8.

Well, the thing is PoDi really planned the time slots allocations well (sarcasm), so if you try to register for both top 24s and get rejected from both, there's only one time slot left after that so that means you would not be able to do one of those races, and that could potentially cost the following top 24s to some drivers out there.

This is still just your speculation, I still believe that the 3rd criteria are acumulated points in the champ and that link to the news Jess Pinkam just posted may be a good lead.

Anyway if we do get kicked, I think we should finish manu top24 just in time to enter the last nation slot which should still be for decent points I guess.

Hang on.... 15 minutes/race??? Aren't the FIA races usually a bit longer, like 20+ mins?
 
Could just be me but I simply can't find any semblance of consistency at Bathurst with the new tire model. I do recall it took me a long time to learn it the first time in GT Sport so I guess I need to log a lot of laps... again. I do find it hilarious how short they set the total race time, though. If there was ever one single FIA race that was even under 20 minutes total time, I can't remember.

Someone like me that can max out their DR and can't even win one single FIA top split race can't be underrated. I just wanted to point that out. :D

Oh, and having been anywhere from near the front to deep in the midpack in multiple FIA races, I have mental notes on quite a number of drivers in the Americas region. Not one to divulge here as not everything is positive and I often surprise people how blunt I can be. :lol:

There won't be any good players in it. (Well except those who didn't make it in Superstar 24 and follow your strategy)

Nah, I think the Manufacturer Top 24 easily runs over that last Nations slot, Top 24 Lobbies are nomally just over 60 minutes long.

Race info says race is 25mins ish, with qualy and some added time for loadings and everything that should be 45 mins cca....not sure if 25mins is a bug though, we will know after asia streams I guess.

30 minute race + 15 minutes qually + 5 minute warmup + 5 minutes downtime (at least) = 55 Minutes minimum
 
According to the top ten list and my friends list, the Ford seems to be the car for Nations.

But I really don't like this car and don't want to use it. Unfortunately I havent much experience with the GR.3 cars regarding tire wear and fuel.

Top speed isn't much important for me, because I guess it will mostly be driving in slipstreams anyway.

Any help for alternatives appreciated!
