To be honest it can be viable anywhere if you learn how to use the car, it's whether someone would go the extra mile to try and learn it :p! You could even argue coming in near the end for brands new tyres to try it? I dunno, if they fix it they remove that issue so I'm all for this patch if it fixes that!

OR if they give the PUG gr.4 car less weight, that to!

If they don't fix it, moments like this will be a thing of the past lol :D (Timestamped at the proper moment for extra laughs):

Tidgney: "Oh, I've got another lap (and no fuel)! Oh no! What am I going to do!?"
F1 W08: "Don't worry buddy, I've got you covered!" *accelerates to 800km/h with 0 fuel*

Yep... ever since the arrival of the new Megane Gr.4 I've always wondered why PD don't give all FF cars a little help in the weight department. They don't seem to stand out anywhere anymore.

So had my first go with the F1 car tonight... interesting car, turns out I was driving it wrong initially so changed my style once I figured out you don't rev the car and worked out a charm thankfully... Came up with this lap, my potential is a 29.0 (With best sectors) but you could be there all day trying to get it as the hairpin is where I lost the majority of time, and you can see I lost time at Degnar 2 as well. Even so this might help some people :)

I can already see the release note on that:

Other Improvements and Adjustments
- Fixed an issue wherein the Peugeot RCZ Gr.4 impersonated a locomotive on course

Haha, or replace the engine noise with a train , Or give me some steam coming out the top of the car

Knowing PD their solution wouldn't be to reduce front tyre wear. They'd probably give it a 10% power reduction instead so people can overtake it

WWWOOOOAAAAA Don't give PD any ideas! I need that power to at least give me a chance :lol:! Although I've heard Willow is ridiculous on tyres so my attempt at getting a few extra points to try make the top 24 might be going down the pan to be honest!

Haha damn why wasn't that around at that point in time! A quite hilarious moment, that I'll always remember and it seems everyone else to haha! But you gotta laugh at stuff like this as it is absolutely hilarious! We need a GT Bloopers video!

Cheers and haha ! I'm using the camera which I mainly used since I started play F1 games (Although not played many) which was F1 96 (Technically called Formula 1). Funny story for you there... I learnt to drive the F1 car around adelaide using the TV Camera xD (I was 6/7 then, all my sim racing started then :D)! Now try imagine yourself doing that with GT Sport! Adelaide being a street circuit and full damage!

 Could you explain that a bit more? Where did you find this?
Pretty much the same process as how the EMEA guys got it. Same requirements too (>18 etc.)

I wish I could tell you I found it out myself, but it's from a friend who got invited

I just make sure I’m applying a bit of pressure to either brake or throttle at all times. Never let off both of them if you’re below 3rd gear. And when accelerating off the hairpin and chicane just apply very light throttle until you’re at 4th gear or whatever. I imagine it’s easier if you drive manual since you don’t have to downshift that low

Try Motion controls?

Map 2 allow 8 laps using full throttle. It help also a lot to manage throttle inputs and let the car a bit easier to drive. (Without resolving the chicane and hairpin problems...)
My throttle input on map 1 is OK for now, but will have to try some stints in map 2 and weigh it up
Ugh. Hamilton was right- the W08 is a complete diva. I've set a 1:31.8 so far in FP and that's still inconsistent. I still bounce anywhere from a 31 to a 34, excluding laps with mistakes. The most frustrating part is I know where to improve, they're glaringly obvious, but I just can't bring myself to get near those limits just yet because of the sheer difficulty driving the car :ouch:
I think I can get consistent 1:32 +/- a few tenths in FP and mid to high 1:33 with fuel and tyres, it's just one of those cars that you have to "figure out" how to drive
I set 1.30.4 and everything faster seems just suicidal to me...
I also have a 1:30.4xx and I think I'm maxed out, those aliens really know exactly how much throttle to input at exactly the right time on corner exit

True. Got around to practicing again and now I'm at a 1:30.453. My consistency still needs work, but it's getting there (high 30s, mid-31s)

I can still find some time around it, but I'm not sure if it's worth the risk in qualifying

I've always wondered why PD don't give all FF cars a little help in the weight department. They don't seem to stand out anywhere anymore.

FF cars are the most lightweight in group (1400kg group avg ), along with Alfa and Toyota.
//nobody counts Trophy as group 4.

Knowing PD their solution wouldn't be to reduce front tyre wear. They'd probably give it a 10% power reduction instead

There is no need to solely reduce front tyre wear in gr.4 FF's.
Reducing power would help in that department (300+hp FF is overkill).
To not go in details, there is a reason why GT racing cars are RWD.

Everyone driving same cars after they see the top 10, fictional tracks, fictional weird cars go up 500km/h and so on.

If i was FIA, i would agree with a serious game company rather than Polyphony who don't listen it's fans, only does whatever they want.

I don't have an issue with the FF cars in general. The Meganne is fast as hell on Interlagos, Bathurst and Monza. I chose the Audi at Lago Maggiorre West the last week in the Nations and was competitive. The VW Scirocco is the lightest car out there and is competitive on any tight twisty track (could do with a little bit more top speed).

The Pug is a monster in the straight line now but it has a huge issue with its terrible tyre wear. If they just knock back the wear by 10-20% then I think it will be ok. The FF cars are never going to be the best, but they are a nice safe car to drive so they shouldn't be as fast as the FR cars on average.

As to the nations, god that car is good through the S' Curves. I can see why the F1 guys love that track. Shame the game gets the hairpin so wrong with TC turned on. I was trying to see if I could run TC set to 2 and just keep it nice and safe, but was dropping around 1 second just at that 1 corner. I think I might run TC1 and set fuel to 2 and just try and survive.

Races are going to be a complete disaster with the melee that the first few corners will be. Really need to qualify in top 5 or you will get punted. Cars are simply too fast for anyone apart from the best drivers. Thanks to @Tidgney for the video, I was braking way too early on most corners :)

Did 50 laps on suzuka in the f1 last night. Got my time down to 1.34.1xx from 1.38.xxx. Optimal time was a low 1.33. Still way of the pace I guess... Still spin of the track every other lap. No way to catch slides in this thing. I hope the game will reset my car after a spin because now I'm busy trying to get out of the gravel to the track for like 20 seconds. Settled for TC 1 in the end. Wednesday is going to be a massacre with tirewear and other guys on track :)

I think I say in every stream that FF doesn't belong here and if Peugeot had made the RCZ (IRL) an MR car they could have had 1 hell of a winner? Maybe? I dunno I'm not an engineer but even in game an MR Gr.4 car would be lovely! But they won't change them all to RWD as it moves away from what the category represents.

Tyre wear is significant enough to matter in Gr.4 though, not even just FF cars... I had to make 2 stops in Maggiore top 24 because my tyres had gone by lap 5, you can even see that on my stream, I believe the GTR is very rough on its tyres to so maybe it's car specific rather than drive train? It just gets more significant in FF because it does the turning and the accelerating! The thing with FF you can't reduce the power because they have lower apex speeds so the counter argument is faster on straights (Not sure what other things you could do?) I think weight if they insist on tyre/fuel may help even with them being the lightest at the moment. I'd just prefer sprint races in these cars (Gr.4), as the balance does seem... all over the place with the accelerated tyre/fuel wear. Feel like I'm going on about that though so...

Wednesday, PUG Train incoming CHOO CHOO!

I'm skipping the nations race this week. I know myself well enough to know that I will only cause havoc, it's not worth it. As far as the Manu race goes, I'm going to go for it, but man do I struggle at Big Willow. Anyone have any tips or a good track guide for it? I'll be running the circuit exp. trying to figure this track out. I'm struggling in sector 2, going up and back down the hill again. I can't break 1:20 to save my life.

Peugeot RCZ was made to compete against the Audi TT, also an FF car. Simply put FF is much cheaper to make and frees up much more cabin and boot space, and that is what people care about in the real world. Driving dynamics is good for youtube, but most people plod around town at 30mph.

In the real world they are about the same weight in normal spec, but in game the Pug is 300lbs heavier for some reason. That is what is destroying the tyres. Maybe there is some stuff in the boot they could throw out?

As to Big Willow, maybe the below might help?

and maybe check out Z28's lap guide at

My guy. I'll be checking this out after work and getting my hands dirty on my hopefully soon to be sold Toyota lol

Still, amazing time and great video. :)👍

I agree love using cockpit view but the merc F1 has no mirrors so I am gonna probably spoil someones race tommorrow because of that lol

Great video Tidgney you use such high gears must be why I am struggling with rear lock ups so badly in the hairpin had my first run in this car and only at 1.32.0

It is indeed rough on front tyres and so it should be.
It is front engine 1522kg car, and if fuel wear algorithm adds aditional 100kgs with full tank then its 1622kg!
Power and 4WD helps alot accelerating from slow corners though.

It just gets more significant in FF because it does the turning and the accelerating!

And the braking, while default weight distribution is also surely to the front.

Tomorrow I will try to be brave and do the Mercedes race  I still can only do at least 7 laps before spinning out in any part of Suzuka  It's so difficult to control the car :irked: And my best it's a 1:32:6xx, which is not awful, but nothing compared to the 1:28:xxx made by Miura :scared: It will probably a last place for me, but I WILL TRY MY BEST :dopey:

No worries :)! That's one thing I found with this car actually initially I was red lining it as I found it stable then I started to realise the weight transfer from changing gear higher in the rev range was enough to cause issues.

O ye the GTR should be bad on its tyres but x5 multiplier doesn't help, as its then 5 times as worse as the best car on its tyres. In the RCZ I tend to have Brake balance at 5 to try save myself some issues haha!

It depends, you could see the RCZ as a way for them to really get back in the market or try something new in the sports car market. I know its more expensive for a rear wheel drive but it doesn't have to be that much more expensive, it's all choice at the end of the day :P! I do like its real world counterpart to though :).

I admire your courage. Just focus on staying on the track as this race will be carnage.

I've been practicing Big Willow in PCARS (it is harder, and the harder the better). And I couldn't help to notice that to be in the same range of time around Willow you have to drive a GT3 car, whereas in GTSport you can do that time in a Gr4 (I'm doing 1:19 in both at the moment). I was wondering if GTSport is overpowered or PCARS is underpowered. Just out of curiosity, I know you guys know about this stuff.

Also, in a side note, what lap is the best to enter pits in Big Willow for tomorrow (according to your experience)? I didn't have time to practice a entire race yet and I drive a Nissan.
